Story
Meet Hattie, a sweet yet spunky girl that will show you all the love that special need fosters can possibly offer. When we say they are special, Hattie is a testament to everything these animals have to offer. Hattie is 3 years old, weighs 35 lbs and has something called hydrocephalus, which has caused blindness, but that doesn’t slow her down at all! Hattie was born with something called hydrocephalus – fluid on her brain. She currently only takes an ant-seizure med and has been doing well with that management in her foster home (Keppra 500mg twice per day, estimated cost $30/month). Ideally, we would love to find an adopter experienced with the condition because these dogs have very unique qualities that will make a transition easier if the adopter is experienced. Hattie has lived in her foster home since she was three months old. She has a very strict routine (as hydros need) and does not like any sort of change to that routine. Her foster will want to visit with the adopter to ensure a similar routine can be carried into her next home. Hattie will need time to learn a new environment on her terms. She will never be a cuddly dog, and for the most part she doesn’t interact with other dogs a lot. She cannot be forced to a fast adjustment – it will only set her up for failure. While she loves being the company of other dogs, don’t expect her to play and behave like a typical dog. A lot of times she will relax off to the side and watch others play. Hattie lives with foster siblings of all ages and sizes, as well as varying needs, and does great with everyone…in her own way. When new fosters enter the home, she is allowed to explore them on her own terms, and is never forced to interact with them. While she does great on potty training, due to her condition, she will always have accidents. Hydrocephalus dogs tend to not understand fully the concept of potty training, so an awareness to that will need to exist. Due to her condition, only local applications will be considered (Oklahoma only) and potential adopters need to be open to having a home visits done. Multiple visits and observing Hattie in any new home environment is a must. She needs a home with a fenced yard; apartments will not be considered. You can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application Hattie is spayed, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped! Her adoption fee is $250.

Story
He was adopted when he was around 2 years old and we have had him for about 7 years. He has excellent manners and is well trained. He knows basic commands like sit, shake, and lay down. He still has a lot of energy at his age and we currently are not getting him out of the house enough. He is a really sweet and smart dog that just needs a family that can give him more attention. My family is also relocating soon and will not be able to take him with us when the time comes.

f you're looking for a smart, playful sidekick who is always ready for the next adventure, Jessie may be your perfect match! Jessie is a 3 month old cattle dog mix puppy with a fun-loving personality and a curious spirit. Like any young pup, she loves to play, explore, and keep herself busy. She is a fast learner who enjoys figuring things out and is already making great progress with her kennel and house training. Jessie gets along well with other dogs and can live with cats that are accustomed to dogs and confident enough to set appropriate boundaries. She would also do well with children who are old enough to understand how to respectfully interact with their canine friends. As a typical cattle dog mix puppy, Jessie is active, intelligent, and eager to learn. She will thrive in a home that can provide plenty of playtime, training, enrichment, and love. In return, she'll reward her family with endless entertainment, loyalty, and companionship. Jessie is ready to find a family that will help her continue growing into the amazing dog she's destined to be. Story
Meet Copper! Copper is a very sweet, playful guy! He is approximately 4 years old, and at his last vet visit weighed in at 60 pounds. We think Copper probably has some Australian Shepherd, along with several other breeds including possibly Belgian Shepherd, Greyhound or Carolina dog. Copper is a beautiful and happy boy. He’s lucky to be alive! Copper came to us from the shelter at a time when he was minutes from losing his life because he had an upper respiratory infection. We are so glad he is with us now, and he is in a training program getting ready for his forever home! Copper does well in a crate, he also does well on a leash. Copper would love to be a hiking or running buddy! His foster mom said he is doing well at learning house training. Copper loves to play with his doggy friends especially tug-of-war with the big rope toys and will do wonderful at a daycare or dog park with other active and playful dogs! Interested in becoming a forever home for Copper? We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Copper. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Copper the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Story
Introducing Tiffany Biffany, a dog with a big personality and a big heart to match! Tiffany is an incredibly friendly pooch who gets along with just about anyone - dogs and humans. She's an intelligent girl who is always up for smelling around, and she's got oodles of energy and enthusiasm, which she's happy to channel into some fun activities. She's a quick learner who is always ready to impress her owners with new tricks and skills. She is house and crate trained and working on her leash skills. She loves getting any attention she can. In summary: Tiffany is pretty much the full package, and she's just waiting for the right person to come and take her home. Could that person be you? She is around 2 years old and 50 pounds. We think she is a mix between a cattle dog and a malinois. Interested in becoming a forever home for Tiffany?
