Meet Rooney. This handsome black-and-white senior is a 9–10-year-old Border Collie mix who came to us from local animal control. He hasn’t had an easy life, but he has a gentle heart and a real love for adventure. Rooney is a special-needs boy. He has cataracts and is going blind—currently he has roughly 50% vision. We want him to experience and enjoy all the sights he still can, and we’re hoping to place him in a loving home where he can feel safe, comfortable, and cherished for the rest of his life. Rooney is a sweet, loyal guy who enjoys exploring and will make a wonderful walking partner. He thrives on routine, reassurance, and quiet companionship. Because of his limited vision and past experiences, Rooney must be the only pet in the home—no cats, no other dogs—and he is not suitable for a household with children. Despite everything he has been through, this old soul still has so much love left to give. He deserves a calm, patient adopter who will help him navigate his world and give him the kindness and stability he’s always deserved. If you have a soft spot for seniors and want to make a true difference for a dog who needs it most, Rooney would love to meet you. Avett is a 3 year old, male, Border Collie/Heeler mix surrendered to rescue when owner was "unable to support his needs". Owner reportsthey bought Avett as a puppy & he was free to roam in the home with children and other animals with no issues except for "jumping" sometimes. He has been friendly and cooperative with all the volunteers at the rescue. He loves running and playing in the big fenced yard and is working on his leash skills. He participates is several different play groups at the rescue & has done well with the other dogs. Avett is a bit over weight so we are providing a healthy diet and regular exercise to improve his quality of life which we hope will continue with his new family. Chloe is a beautiful 5-year-old Australian Shepherd/Hound mix who is excited to meet her new human companions! She is a very friendly, extroverted dog who loves to interact with people and receive loving human attention. She loves people so much that she also has some separation anxiety and does not like to be away from her best friends. Chloe is very energetic and strong on a leash and would definitely benefit from some consistent training and behavior work. She would also do best in a home without any cats.
