Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Eddy!   Eddy is a 3-year-old Border Collie weighing in at 46 pounds, and he’s looking for a home that can keep up with his silliness, playfulness, and huge lovable personality! This smart boy is happiest when he has something to do. He loves to be engaged, learn new things, and show off how clever he is. He knows sit and come, and he absolutely loves a good game of fetch. When he’s not playing with his people, you can often find Eddy happily entertaining himself with his toys. Eddy is house-trained and crate-trained, although his foster family says there really isn’t much need to crate him. He gets along wonderfully with his foster brothers and would do great in a home with another playful canine companion. He’s also convinced that pretty much everyone he meets is his new best friend—and he’ll happily try to give them a hug! ❤️ Eddy has lived with children ages 2 and up, but because he is such an energetic and enthusiastic boy, older children may be the better fit for his play style. As a Border Collie, Eddy does have some herding instincts. Cats tend to look less like roommates to him and more like something he needs to organize, so a home without cats would probably be best. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate, intelligent dog who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and happily join you for adventures, Eddy might just be your guy!  Eddy is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered and on monthly heartworm and flea preventatives.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.  We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.  Thank you!September 14, 2026, 1:35 pm

Story
Lily is a 5 year old border collie/collie mix. She’s a sweet little Velcro dog and she’d be great in a family with older kids who know to respect boundaries. She needs good exercise and a lot of love. She is a chow hound and can’t be fed with other dogs. She also shouldn’t be around people while eating, especially kids. She has taken food from my littles before. We are looking to rehome her because she keeps snipping at my 3 year old son when he goes near her and we are worried one day she’ll bite him. She doesn’t like chaos and he brings a lot of chaos with him, because…boy. She’s a wonderful dog she just needs a home that can give her what we can’t.

Story
Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617**Due to Zendaya needing spayed, their adoption will not be finalized until on or after: 9-22-26Could he do well with kids? Yes, with children around 14 years old on a kid-by-kid basis.Could he do well with other dogs? Tom & Zendaya can be selective with other dogs. Multiple meets might be necessary.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Since their arrival at the shelter, both Tom and Zendaya have remained withdrawn, showing only small glimmers of personality. Based on their observed behaviors, we have determined that they are bonded and will need to be adopted together. When out of their kennel, they both sat together in a corner of the room, watchful and hesitant to move around. Gradually, Tom began to explore half of the room, but he always returned to Zendaya`s side once he realized she wasn`t with him. Outside, they were skittish, startled by the various sounds of kennel life around them. They allowed handling, but only with slow movements, ensuring they have plenty of opportunities to move away if they choose. We have not introduced Tom to any new dogs yet, but Zendaya has shown a general reluctance to interact with other dogs, keeping herself separate and remaining watchful throughout the entire interaction.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT

Story
Nova is 4 year old bordercollie who is EXTREMELY active and needs a person who loves being on the go. She's a great hiking partner, a water dog, stick, rock, ball obsessor. Nova has become jealous of my child, started nipping her sister dog that we got for her 2 years ago, and is resource guarding food. She has gone to the vet and has a clean bill of health.Nova is a very loving dog, kennel trained, house trained, spayed, microchiped, and up on all shots.Nova needs to be in a single dog home, or have more training with another dog, and with kids that are ages 5 and up who can be active with her. She will come with her bowls, treats, kennel, kennel mat, and her toy box.I would like to stay in contact with whoever adopts Nova so if it doesnt work out I will take her back and try to find her another home. If you have questions please submit an application and I will contact you to set up a play date.
