Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Yager is a male Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix  born in 2019.  H2H was told he is good with children, cats and other dogs but there are no other dogs/cats/children in his current foster home to confirm this. Typically, Yager's breed is known to be very energetic, but he seems to be completely content without canine companions, preferring to be a couch potato. Yager walks nicely on a leash; when off-leash he seems to have a good recall.  When left alone in he house and not crated, he has had accidents.  Shy, and underconfident, Yager tends to avoid things that make him uncomfortable. He will need a patient owner who will slowly expose him to new environments and social situations to help build his confidence and help him to be a well-rounded companion.  Up to now, he not been totally comfortable on car rides. Yager has not been destructive in the house and has little interest in bones or toys; he would likely be a submissive dog if there were other canines in the house. When crated, he does well. Yager is neutered, up to date with vaccinations, and is on monthly heartworm/flea/tick preventatives.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.  We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.  Thank you!April 25, 2024, 9:17 am

Story
Bubba, an 8 year old- border collie, is a clever canine with an independent streak, who lives life on his own terms. His late owner loved him dearly but gave him too much leeway his whole life, allowing Bubba to rule the roost. As a result of this, when given instructions or commands, Bubba can be become agitated and resistant due to his distaste for being told what to do at times. Although stubborn at times, he truly is a good boy. His enthusiasm for walks is contagious! He loves it so much, he can't contain his excitement when he sees the leash. He takes delight in playing with his toys and being showered with love by humans. Despite making friends with other dogs at the shelter, Bubba should be the only dog in his forever home (he can't be placed in a home with cats).Join us on our mission to find an amazing family that will embrace Bubba just as he is. Let's spread some joy and change his world! Bubba is neutered, microchipped & up to date on all vaccinations. If interested in adopting Bubba, please go to our website: www.nokillarc.org to fill out a pre-approval form. (It can be located under the ‘adoptable dogs' section).

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Update 3.8.2014 Buddy is now 2 years old and will be a work in progress. Buddy needs an experienced dog person, he cn not be allowed off leash EVER, he needs someone willing to get him out ofhis shell.  Posted 1/14/13 Buddy was in a very bad situation, born in a barn and not socialized or fed on a regualar basis.  He is very shy and with a little work can become a wonderful companion,.  He is about 10 months old and weighs 38lbs so he will be a meduim sized dog.  He is slowly getting used to being in a house since it is all foreign to him.  He is much more comfortable outside and PLAYS like a champ! This dog does need a fenced yard!!   His adoption fee is $200, BUT remember he needs a little work to be your BEST BUDDY!!  All the dogs are Spayed or Neutered, Heartworm/Lyme tested, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas and overall Vet checked. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee along with an adoption kit . Application REQUIRED. We take the applications in the order that we receive them. Adoption fee required. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Image growing up in a yard with a human throwing you food over a fence and pouring water in your already dirty water day after day.  The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you!  You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known.  Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone.  WOW SCARY right???  Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies.  Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :(   The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well.  Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life!   We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human.  If you would like to be considered for the boys please fill out an adoption application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!April 15, 2024, 12:36 pm

Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out of state adoptions. Meet Samuel, the 52-pound charmer with the energy of a Border Collie and the heart of a teddy bear! This one-year-old Border Collie/Lab (possibly?) mix is the perfect combination of sweet and spirited. He's a social butterfly with dogs and a soft treat-taker from your hand. Sam's talents include sitting and working on "OFF". His perfect day involves walks, yard playtime, and some quality time with squeaky toys. Sam is very attached to his people and always wants to be near them. He is crate-trained and housetrained. Samuel walks very well on a leash - does not pull and rides well in the car. He is as loyal as they come. Sam's ideal home? One with a patient person who can match his energy, perhaps another furry friend, and a daily routine. If you're ready for a companion who'll keep up with you on all your adventures, Sam's your guy! Apply now, and let the adventures begin!    Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. April 25, 2024, 11:06 am
