With one striking blue eye and one warm brown, she’s impossible to forget – yet she’s still searching for the person who will see just how special she is. Scotch is incredibly smart and full of love. She lights up at the sight of a tennis ball and could spend hours splashing happily in the water. Cowboy is still just a puppy and will need continued care, groceries, and lots of love to help him fully heal and thrive. In return, he’ll give you loyalty, companionship, and that special bond that comes from saving a dog who truly deserves a second chance. Cowboy will be available for adoption through Hickman Humane Society once his stray hold and veterinary care are complete. Lucca arrived at Horse Creek Wildlife on March 24, 2025. His ideal home is one where he can be the center of attention—he’s not a fan of farm animals or cats, and he’d prefer to keep his circle strictly human (and maybe a fellow dog or two who shares his zest for life). He enjoys running and romping in our exercise areas with other dogs. Lucca is 59 pounds full-grown, and we believe he is an Australian Kelpie mix. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who will brighten your days and fill your home with laughter, Lucca might just be your perfect match. Come meet him and see why everyone falls in love with this goofy, lovable boy! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered and current on all vaccinations. They receive monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. All of their medical needs are taken care of before they are available for adoption. Our adoption fee is $100.00. Please complete an application, if you have found a dog you are interested in adopting. Kim Austin, our adoption facilitator, will be in contact with you as soon as she has an opportunity to review your application. Understand that she has other duties and she will not ignore any interest shown in adopting one of our dogs. An application will need to be approved before a scheduled time to visit our dogs will be set up. It may take up to 48 hours before she returns your call or responds to your email, due to work schedules, holidays and adoption events. We do the very best we can for the dogs we have rescued and do not take the adoption process lightly. Please be patient and understand that we will place our rescued dogs in the very best homes possible and reserve the right to refuse applications.
