Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. She is Xena The Warrior PrincessXena was born approximately July 15, 2021.  She is a GORGEOUS Border Collie/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix or Tri-Colored Rhodesian Ridgeback.  Her personality is true to her breed! Xena's foster mom and dad have 3 other dogs that she likes to play with and share toys with, but she has also learned to be by herself.  Her foster mom says she needs an active family with another dog or multiple dogs. Xena needs room to run to get her energy out.  She likes going for long walks and exploring the wilderness. Xena sleeps with her foster mom and dad in bed with all the other dogs. It gets a bit crowded but she does love sleeping with the pack. This makes her feel safe. Xena does not like to be in a kennel or crate.  So, a family that is at home would be ideal. She likes eating ice cubes!  Xena says 'When mom gives me fresh water in a bowl she puts in extra ice cubes for me. That makes me feel special and loved.'  Xena loves riding in a vehicle and knows not to jump around and act like a baby. She can walk on a leash pretty well as long as she has her harness on; Xena is not a fan of collars. She also knows a few commands like “stay”, “no” and “potty”.Xena will bark at strangers until she gets to know them.  Her foster dad has taught her to fetch.  She loves chasing the ball and bringing it back, it’s the letting it go part that she has a hard time with BECAUSE she also loves to play tug of war.  Xena is also a fan of the Laser Light.  She thinks they are fascinating!Xena is Special Needs because if and when she gets too excited she has seizures.  The vet attributes this to a blow to the head as a puppy.  Therefore, she needs to be in a home that understands how to deal with occasional seizures.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 12, 2026, 7:32 pm

Story
Champ is a fun loving dog with a personality as big as his ears—seriously, they could be goal posts for a football team! He loves chasing toys and, in true Champ fashion, will toss them in the air with pure joy. His playful nature shines when he’s with other dogs, always eager for fun. But he also has an affectionate side; and when you want to chill he’ll happily settle by your feet, content to chew on his favorite toy while staying close. Champ’s playful nature and loving heart make him a perfect friend to have by your side.   To learn more or to meet Champ call 281-339-2086 any day except Wednesday between 11AM and 5PM or you can fill in an app at https://bayareapetadoptions.org/adoption-application/ ##2196523##

❤️ Meet Mikka ❤️ Have you ever wanted a dog that thinks you're the greatest person on Earth?! Because that's Mikka. Some dogs love people. Mikka *lives* for her people. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants to be your shadow, your adventure buddy, and your biggest fan, you've found her. Mikka is a 3-year-old, 40-pound Border Collie mix with the perfect mix of brains, affection, and playfulness. Her favorite things in the world are surprisingly simple: 🎾 Playing fetch (she could do it all day!) 🚗 Going for car rides 🥾 Exploring on walks ❤️ Spending time with her favorite human She's incredibly smart and eager to learn. Mikka already knows: Sit, Down, Shake, Wait, and Crate Up, and she's always excited to show off how clever she is. Mikka's perfect home: Mikka is looking for a home where she can be your one and only. She prefers not to share her home with other dogs because she'd much rather spend all of her love and attention on you. While she has great manners on walks and can calmly pass other dogs, she's happiest when she doesn't have canine roommates. Because fast, unpredictable movements can make her a little nervous, she'd do best with older, dog-savvy children (or an adult-only home). Why we love Mikka? The best way to describe Mikka is this: She doesn't just love people—she chooses her person. Once you're her person, you have a best friend for life. She'll greet you with excitement every time you walk through the door, happily join you on every errand, and remind you every single day that you're the best part of her world. She's affectionate without being overwhelming, playful without being wild, and active enough to enjoy adventures while still loving to relax by your side afterward. Mikka is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and ready to start her next chapter. If you've been waiting for that once-in-a-lifetime dog who will love you with her whole heart, Mikka has been waiting for you too. Could you be her person? Please apply at htxdogrescue.org

Story
This beautiful golden girl is calm, friendly, and confident, with the kind of easygoing personality that makes spending time with her a joy. She’s great on leash and already knows how to sit on command. She`s gentle when taking treats from your hand and is always happy to soak up some affection and pets. While toys don`t seem to be high on her priority list, Julie is perfectly content finding her own ways to stay entertained and doesn’t need constant attention. Julie has done well with other dogs in shelter playgroups, and would love to find a home with canine companions. She strikes a lovely balance between being social and independent – she’s happy to spend time with you but confident enough to make her own fun, too.If you`re looking for a sweet, steady friend who is past the puppy chaos and ready to settle into family life, Julie may be the perfect match.

Story
Kylee is a very good dog. I cannot go anywhere without her following me. She is very good inside the house has never had a problem there. When I put her in the kennel, she is full of energy. Has never tried to bite anyone or any other dogs. She is three years old now and last month got all of her shots up-to-date. She has had no formal training, but there’s just something about her. She listens very good.
