Story
Mikka is a 40 lbs, Border Collie mix. She is a very sweet girl that loves life, but is still uncertain about a lot of things so she needs people that will help her learn and feel secure in the world. She enjoys meeting new people, going on car rides, and loves spending time outdoors. She is young with a lot of energy and needs positive training. Mikka is very smart and catches on to new things quickly. She knows sit and down, but we’re still working on stay and her leash walking is coming along really well. She does well with other dogs that can handle her energy, but does require slow introductions, she would love to have a playmate. She needs an active family that will keep both her mind and body stimulated. She is slowly learning to be a great cuddler. Mikka is a very sweet girl and would be a great companion, she will love you with all her heart. She has a lot of herding instincts and would be great for working/sports/competition. She is also very fast. To adopt Mikka, please apply at www.htxdogrescue.org.

Story
Hello, future family! I'm Daisy Mae, a large and lovable black dog with a heart as vast as my midnight-hued coat. I've been patiently waiting for 507 days to find my forever home, and I believe this Christmas could be the one where I finally get to spend my days surrounded by love and warmth. About Me:I'm a gentle giant, known for my soulful eyes and an unwavering spirit. Typical to my shepherd lineage I can be wary of strangers, but, once I know, you are my person I love with my whole being. Despite my 507 days spent at the shelter, I've never lost hope that the right family will come along and see the joy I can bring to their lives. I'm well-behaved, house-trained, and ready to share my love with someone special. My Christmas Wish List:To make my time at the shelter brighter, I've curated an Amazon wish list filled with items that would add a touch of festive cheer to my days. If you're feeling extra generous this holiday season, consider checking out my list and making my Christmas dreams come true. It's not just about the gifts; it's about the love and thoughtfulness behind them. https://a.co/fH47PqL How You Can Help:If you're not in a position to adopt right now, you can still be a part of my journey by contributing to my Amazon wish list or sharing my story. Your kindness could make this Christmas one to remember.  Adoption Details:Ready to make my dreams come true? Just fill out the no obligation, application to schedule a meet-and-greet.  ##1560455##

Story
Harley knows where to find a bargain. She was found at a Walmart and isn't telling anyone what her real name is. It's definitely not Harley. She was invited to stay with her finder for a whole month and she impressed him with how fast she runs. She's like the wind! She also likes playing fetch with tennis balls, agility, and car rides. She was around children as young as 12 and loves to play with them. She is friendly and loves to be petted. She is affectionate and likes sitting on any available lap. She weighs 27 pounds and won't get much bigger. She likes leading the way while on a leash. We don't know if she is house trained because she stayed outside. Please be patient if you need to teach her. She is moderately active and only got into trouble for digging and racing out the door. She is picky about her animal friends. If you have a dog, you should bring it to meet her because she plays rough and is possessive of her food. She refuses to live with a cat. She knows the sit come, down, and shake commands. She is afraid of water and strangers. Strangers bearing water are particularly scary. She is protective of her family. She sleeps well in a crate but might bark a bit when first inside. She is needy, excitable and totally lovable. Please offer Harley the home and family she deserves. (tw 5/7/2024)

Story
If you would like more information about Parker or are interested in fostering or adopting him, please send an email to wendy.s.howard@gmail.com or contact this number, 713-494-7749 Parker is a 3 year old Border Collie-Pit mix who was found abandoned at a park. He has been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He is a sweet-natured boy in good health. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and extremely smart. He is incredibly devoted to the humans who care for him, and is looking for his forever best friend. He loves to play with toys and cuddle. While he is currently being fostered in a home with a cat and a small dog, he is kept somewhat separate from them. He does not seem to care if another dog is around, but due to his high-energy nature (and complete lack of need for personal space), he will be best placed in a home as an “only child” with a yard to roam. Adopt Parker, and he will be your biggest fan and most loyal protector. Story
Hi there! I'm Petey, a sweet cuddly pup who just wants to give you all the love! When you first meet me, I can be super shy, but I warm up quickly! I love humans especially when they pet and sit with me! I have the best time playing with my foster fur sister; she has SO many toys and she shares them all with me. My foster mom tries to make sure I get the really strong, durable ones! I'm potty trained for the most part but because I'm scared to go outside, I sometimes have accidents inside the house. It's funny to watch my foster mom try to get me out into the backyard just so I can go. But I know I'll get there eventually...it's just a big world out there! Before coming to this foster home, I had no idea what treats were, so I'm still learning to figure out which ones I like and which ones I don't. You'd be surprise that I'm not a fan of peanut butter treats! But feel free to load me up with any of the beef or sausage ones. I love, LOVE to eat. It's probably because I'm still a growing boy. I also have never been on a leash before and being near cars scare me, so my foster mom takes me to parks instead! I love being out there and would make for an excellent running buddy. I've won over all of my foster mom's friends...maybe it's my beautiful curls, or my calm demeanor, or my playful nature with toys...whatever, the case is, I promise you'll love me, too! Petey is a Male Border Collie/Lab Mix that we estimate to be born around 7/1/2023 and weighs 38.3 lbs.

Story
Lucy was adopted from La Porte Rescue Shelter in Oct 2023 but we are unfortunately moving out of state and unable to bring her with us in the downsized home. She was timid when adopted but true to the breed, has attached to her favorite human and is quite loving and playful. She remains timid of others but never shows any aggression, only apprehension. She is known as 'Lucy good girl' due to her affectionate eyes, desire to be part of the family despite her trepidations, and eager to learn new things. She has found her safe and favorite places inside the house but otherwise LOVES to be outside, especially running free on a walk and frolicking in water puddles. Lucy enjoys playing with other dogs and would do well in a multi-dog or single dog home (we currently are a multi-dog family) and would be a great addition to a ranch/farm or anywhere with open land to roam, but would also adapt and thrive with the right family anywhere as a lovely and sweet fur companion.
