Story
Rumi is a very high energy and very social puppy. Her estimated birthday is July 4th. She’s currently 11 months. She very friendly and sweet to everyone. Her favorite thing to do is chasing squirrels. She gets along with other dogs and kids. But unfortunately one of my children developed an irrational fear of dogs (not because of Rumi), and now we can’t keep her. She’s a very sweet dog who loves to go on walks and get lots of pets . I’m hoping her next home is a home who will continue to care for her. She is fully vaccinated and spayed.

Meet Lucy: A Loyal Shadow & Dog-Friendly Free-SpiritAge/Breed: 10-year-old Border Collie MixLocation: Montpelier, VA (Hanover County)Energy Level: Moderate (Enjoys outdoor playtime, then settles beautifully indoors)About Lucy:Lucy is a gentle, 10-year-old Border Collie mix with a beautiful dual nature. Though she has possessed feral tendencies since she was a puppy, she is deeply loyal and never roams far from home. She has spent her life running leash-free across her owner's vast acreage in Montpelier, but indoors, she is completely house-trained and acts as a devoted shadow, staying right by her person's side. Sadly, her 91-year-old owner is moving into a senior living community. We are searching for an experienced, rural adopter who can offer Lucy the unique sanctuary she needs. Lucy’s Personality & Needs:Lucy is completely non-aggressive and lives by her instincts, but she has a deeply affectionate side for those she trusts:• Dog-Friendly: Lucy absolutely loves other dogs!

Story
Jett is a gem of a dog. Handsome and happy boy, he gets along well with other dogs and truly loves children. Just 43lbs, he is a young pup who doesn’t quite know his own size but is surprisingly agile when playing. We believe he has reached his full height, but will fill out further since he arrived to us with his ribs showing. Still very young, Jett is remarkably obedient and listens to direction. He already knows Sit and will learn others in no time at all. Tug-of-war, chasing each other, and wrestling are great, but chew toys are his favorite – but honestly, he really enjoys it all. And when the day is done, when he puts his goofy head on your lap and looks at you with his big expressive eyes, you will know you are loved. Story
Location: Powhatan, VAMeet Trudy! Trudy is a 6-year-old Border Collie mix looking for a special home to call her own. She came to us from a farm where she had plenty of freedom to roam, and she would love to find a home where she can enjoy that same kind of independence and open space. Trudy has an independent spirit and may take a little time to learn to trust new people, but once she does, you’ll see what a wonderful and loyal companion she can be. She’s not the type to be underfoot all day, but she’ll always be there when it counts, watching over her home and family. If you’re looking for a dog who enjoys her freedom and has a unique personality, Trudy might be the one for you! Story
Meet MJ (“Max”)! Max is a handsome 1-year-old Border Collie mix with brains, energy, and a whole lot of love to give! This smart boy is neutered, crate trained, house trained, and eager to learn. He already knows sit, lay down, wait, and stay, and he’s currently mastering spin and place. Max absolutely loves people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’s happiest when he has room to run, play, and frolic in the yard—sometimes with a few excited barks to let everyone know he’s having the best day ever! Because of his herding breed mix and active nature, Max would thrive with an active family and a securely fenced yard where he can safely burn off energy and enjoy outdoor adventures. While Max adores dogs and humans alike, a home without cats is best for him. This young boy is looking for a family that will continue his training, keep his mind busy, and give him the love and exercise he craves. In return, Max will reward you with loyalty, fun, and endless affection. Could Max be the perfect addition to your family?

These pups are in Fredericksburg, Virginia too!

Story
🏃‍♀️ Meet Stride! 🐾 Great in the crate and happy to relax in her own space 🌿 Loves being outside and exploring the world around her 🎾 Enjoys chasing a ball… bringing it back is still optional 😆 👀 Curious about other dogs but would benefit from slow, patient introductions 🔊 Sensitive to new sounds and loud noises (even the TV can be a little suspicious!) 💕 Once she settles in, she’s affectionate, cuddly, and loves being with her people 🎓 Stride is still learning her manners and will thrive with a family committed to training. She’s a young, enthusiastic girl who can get jumpy when excited, likes to use her mouth during play, and has discovered that kitchen counters sometimes hold interesting treasures. Consistent training, patience, and structure will help her become the best version of herself. ✨ If you’re looking for a fun, active dog and enjoy helping a young pup learn and grow, Stride may be your perfect match!
