Story
🌟 Adoption Spotlight: Meet Koda! 🌟 Say hello to Koda, our handsome and intelligent Border Collie mix! 🐾 Koda is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated with Bordetella, Distemper, Lepto, and Rabies. He’s also on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention — healthy and ready to go! He is around 5 years old. This sweet boy is crate trained and does well with other dogs, though he prefers larger canine friends over smaller ones. Like any Border Collie, he’s got a natural prey drive and a strong desire to run, so a fenced yard and an active home are a must. Koda isn’t suited for livestock work — he’s looking for a companion home where he can use his smarts for play, training, and fun adventures. Koda is extremely intelligent and eager to please. He knows sit, hug, and roll over, and is working on improving his recall. Once he learns something, he doesn’t forget — he’s a fast study and a total people-pleaser! Though shy at first, Koda quickly warms up with patience and kindness. He can be a submissive pee-er, so gentle introductions are best. He’s also a bit of a “perimeter dog” — he loves running the fence lines, exploring his space, and keeping an eye on everything happening around him. Fun fact: Koda has had his name for several years and knows it well, so his future family will need to keep “Koda” or choose something similar like “Kody.” If you’re looking for a bright, loyal, and athletic companion who will keep up with your adventures and make you laugh along the way — Koda might just be your perfect match! 💛 📍 Location: Louisa, VA 📩 Interested? Tulip is playful and sweet. She enjoys curling up for quiet moments just as much as she loves running around and showing off her silly puppy energy. She’s the kind of puppy who follows you around, just happy to be near, offering comfort without even trying. She’s affectionate, eager to learn, and full of love to give. Every day with her has been a reminder of how pure and unconditional a puppy’s love can be. She may be small, but she leaves a big imprint on everyone she meets. Tulip deserves a home where she can continue to grow, feel safe, and be cherished for the wonderful soul she is. Anyone lucky enough to welcome her into their life will gain a loyal companion, a best friend, and a whole lot of love wrapped in a fluffy little package.

Story
-ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: lbs -ESTIMATED AGE: 2.4 years old -KNOWN WITH DOGS: Winston LOVES playing with other dogs at the dog park!! He gets along best with female dogs. He does NOT get along with unfixed male dogs. -KNOWN WITH CATS: No experience with cats -KNOWN WITH KIDS: Has been fine with kids, BUT due to some of his herding dog behaviors is recommended for a home with older teens/adults only. -KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Winston is housebroken and crate trained! -KNOWN LIKES: Winston LOVES going to the dog park, laying in the sun, going on hikes, and chilling while the family watches movies -KNOWN DISLIKES: Fast introductions to new people in the home. (he's fine outside of the home!) Winston is a great pup, who needs a home comfortable with a dog that is wary around new people! Being part herding breed, his instinct is to nip at someone coming in when they make him nervous. The current family has a great method to keeping everyone safe, but its not a permanent solution from them. Otherwise he's a GREAT companion!!! Notes from the foster: He’s absolutely the best dog! He’s absolutely loyal to those that love him and take care of him. He loves to cuddle and follow you around. Wants to be around you all the time and have fun. He’s perfectly capable of relaxing and watching movie and shows. He loves to go on hikes and to run around. He’s super fast too. His recall is fantastic. I would be hesitant to change his and since he’s super responsive to Winston and Winnie. He’s absolutely not an aggressive dog but when he’s scared or anxious he reacts by nipping which is the boarder collie in him. Winston also loves to lay out in the sun. When you have guests over do a slow introduction. Have him in a crate in a separate room then bring him out. Treats are perfect for introducing him to people. He’s also comfortable with a soft muzzle and pretty calm with it on. Story
Approximate Age: 1 year Approximate Weight: 39 lbs Meet Ice 🧊 They call me Ice Blue in my foster home because of my beautiful blue eyes. I am full of love and an overall fun guy. I’m still young so have lots of energy. I love playing with toys, especially ones I can squeak and shake around. I haven’t met a ball I don’t like and will play fetch for hours if you will play with me. I know some commands and walk pretty good on a leash but could always use more practice with it. I’m searching for a family who is active or will let me get my energy out in a fun way. I get along with everyone I’ve met and while my foster home doesn’t have kids, if they will play with me, I’ll probably love them too. I haven’t met cats but I have met chickens and ducks and while they were new to me, I left them alone because they were kinda scary. I like dogs too - just make sure they give me a little space when we first meet because I need confidence to interact appropriately. I don’t love being in a crate but I will sleep in one throughout the night if it has a comfy blanket. I also keep my crate clean and know my potty manners. I haven’t had any accidents in the house and always use my outside time to relieve myself. I’m a bit picky about food. I like the good stuff (aka wet food) and take my time eating. I’m more interested in playing so I will need to learn your routine to understand that I can’t take all day to eat my breakfast. Right now I’m eating beef but I can probably adjust to any high quality food. Please give me a chance to be your new best friend. I promise to give you lots of love, snuggles and good times in return! ********************************************************************* Schedule a meet-and-greet by completing our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey.
