Story
Thiago - Active, playful puppy with classic herding breed instincts and lots of enthusiasm - Loves playing with toys and roughhousing with his siblings - Excellent in his crate and keeps it clean overnight and during longer daytime naps - Generally quiet in his crate unless he needs something - Affectionate with people but can be a little timid at first and may submissive pee when unsure - Sometimes gets overly excited when asking for attention and is learning how to channel that excitement appropriately - Leash walking is a new skill he's just starting to practice - Will benefit from continued training, socialization, and a consistent routine as they grow into wonderful companions. As a puppy, I am required to go to training within 90 days of my adoption with a certified trainer. ********************************************************************* Schedule a meet-and-greet by completing our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey. Story
Hi, Ila here (pronounced eye-lah). I came from a shelter in Virginia that has way too many dogs, and I desperately needed rescue. My foster mom describes me as the sweetest girl who just wants to be by your side. While I will eventually settle into being kenneled, I prefer to be wherever my humans are. Here are some things the rescue learned about me since my arrival... -The rescue recommends a home without children. I am a herding breed so that means I have the potential to nip (though I have not done so while in foster care). -I do great with other dogs, I love them, but I do NOT like them near my food or possessions. The rescue is trying to work with me on this. It would be most ideal I go to a home with no other dogs or an experienced home that can work on this with me. -My foster mom is still working with me to use the potty outside. I am mostly housebroken but must be kept on a schedule or I will have an accident. -I have not been tested with cats or small animals. If you would like to meet me, please submit an application https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/66b189c45d6f9afa2c07afb8/6a7dc038647ade4d5d0a4674
