Story
How can you look Selena in those puppy eyes and not fall in love? She has been looking for love in all the wrong places. Somebody dropped her off at a house and the homeowner said if we would not take her, he would just take and dump her off at someone else's place. This is way too good a dog for that nonsense! Selena is such a perfect little lady. She is very sweet and loving. She adores running and playing but she is all for the attention from her human friends. She gets along well with other dogs and loves kids. She would make a wonderful addition to anyone's family. Selena has been fully vetted, spayed and microchipped. She is ready to go to her forever home. Won't you please click on the big black "Ask about ME" button and find out more about her? This girl is currently in TN but the transport to your area is included in your fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Story
This pup is being fostered in Athens TN. Transport to the Great Lakes area and the North East available to your area and if you’re seeing this on adopt a pet the fees for transport are included in the adoption fee! We use Rescue Riders for all our pet transport needs because they are the best! Do you Love Lucy? We love Lucy! This sweet pup found herself on the urgent list at our local city shelter. We are dumbfounded that she was there at our local city shelter for so long and no one came to claim her and no one wanted to adopt her. She is quite an awesome dog! She is smart and loving. She likes to give hugs and kisses. She loves to play with other dogs she would do great in a home with another dog that also loves to play. An active home would be great for her as well. She will need to have physical and mental stimulation in order to love a happy balanced life. She walks ok on leash. Some pulling but not too bad just needs a little twerking on the leash manners. She knows sit and her recall is pretty good. She is crate trained and house trained. Would do best with older children due to her size she would probably knock toddlers down by mistake when playing or loving on them. Please Apply at petpath.org

Story
Meet Neya !! This cute little puppy is fun and adventurous. She had a rough start to life but is now fully enjoying family life in her foster home. She is ready to find her forever family! We saved Neya and her brother Neyo from a rural outdoor shelter. Neyo was adopted prior to being posted but his spunky sister is now ready to find her forever place. Neya is an approx. 6-month-old female. She appears to be a border collie or pit-bull type mix. We are not sure exactly. She currently weighs 30 pounds. She has an overall thin smaller build and likely will stay medium size. She will be spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines as part of her adoption. She is heartworm negative. She can be a bit shy and scared about new people, places and things. She spent way too long in a cage or kennel setting prior to coming to us. She is just now getting to really experience how to be part of a family and do all the things most dogs got to learn when they were younger. Neya has done fantastic with potty training. She is great with her crate training and has had no accidents in or out of the crate. She has a very spunky and energetic side but also knows how to chill and relax. She loves to explore and be on the go with other dogs when she can. She definitely has the border collie personality and energy level. She’s just coming into the teenage stage of puppyhood. She is just now starting to live in a home setting so she is catching up on all of her training. Thankfully she’s very smart and learning quickly. Overall, she does well but will definitely need a home willing to give her consistent training, structure, and some good exercise time every day. Neya is still learning about the leash. She is still very shy with new things and has been building confidence in the backyard before trying any outings. She has done well on car rides. She did get sick on her longer trip from the shelter. This is likely just due to being inexperienced on car rides. She loves all dogs and loves to play. She loves to chase and be chased by the dogs. She can be a lot for dogs that don’t want to play. She is up in their face and pushy with her play desires. She may not be the best fit for older dogs that aren’t wanting to play a lot. She can also be a bit overly dominant with submissive dogs. If a dog will stand up to her and say no she stops but ones that can’t she just keeps pestering them and playing to rough. We do not know how she would do with cats. Neya has been good with kids but can be nervous when first meeting them. She still does some jumping up and minor playful mouthing of hands but she learning. She may knock over little ones but it’s not in an aggressive manner. If she is part border collie there are herding behaviors that can happen. Those often get mistaken as biting or nipping. This is something herding breeds due to “herd” things around. This should be considered when deciding if your children are old enough for this puppy. She is just starting to really figure out what toys are and how to use them. She has not mastered fetch but we think she is getting close. She has no trouble sharing her food or toys with humans. She does get a little protective over special toys or treats around other dogs. With her past she may just not yet understand that there will always be enough to go around. If you are looking for a smart, playful and fun-loving girl then she may be the one. She will need a little work on building her confidence up and also with refining her training. If you are willing to work with her a bit we are sure she will return all of your hard work with a lifetime of love and loyalty. ➡️Vet and home checks required. ➡️ Fenced yard required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com or for faster response message our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application.‼️
