He does NOT get along with unfixed male dogs. -KNOWN WITH CATS: No experience with cats -KNOWN WITH KIDS: Has been fine with kids, BUT due to some of his herding dog behaviors is recommended for a home with older teens/adults only. -KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Winston is housebroken and crate trained! -KNOWN LIKES: Winston LOVES going to the dog park, laying in the sun, going on hikes, and chilling while the family watches movies -KNOWN DISLIKES: Fast introductions to new people in the home. (he's fine outside of the home!) Winston is a great pup, who needs a home comfortable with a dog that is wary around new people! Being part herding breed, his instinct is to nip at someone coming in when they make him nervous. The current family has a great method to keeping everyone safe, but its not a permanent solution from them. Otherwise he's a GREAT companion!!! Notes from the foster: He’s absolutely the best dog! He’s absolutely loyal to those that love him and take care of him. He loves to cuddle and follow you around. Wants to be around you all the time and have fun. He’s perfectly capable of relaxing and watching movie and shows. He loves to go on hikes and to run around. He’s super fast too. His recall is fantastic. I would be hesitant to change his and since he’s super responsive to Winston and Winnie. He’s absolutely not an aggressive dog but when he’s scared or anxious he reacts by nipping which is the boarder collie in him. Winston also loves to lay out in the sun. When you have guests over do a slow introduction. Have him in a crate in a separate room then bring him out. Treats are perfect for introducing him to people. He’s also comfortable with a soft muzzle and pretty calm with it on. Mable’s puppies were born around 10/15/2025 and are currently being fostered in a loving home with their 20-lb mother. Their exact adult size is unknown since the father isn’t known, and breed is an educated guess based on appearance. Because they are very young, adopters must be home for a good portion of the day to continue their training. Each puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and will need to be spayed/neutered at 6 months. Adoption fee: $400, plus a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit. For health and safety, these puppies cannot live in apartments/condos or homes without a private fenced yard and cannot visit public places (PetSmart, Petco, dog parks, etc.) until 16 weeks old due to an underdeveloped immune system. **Adopters must be at least 25 years old.** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. We adopted Cali two years ago from a local rescue when she was a puppy. She is a sweet dog to those she likes. Cali is a shy and anxious dog who bonds strongly with our family and loves to cuddle. She is house-trained and crate-trained. She has had three weeks of professional training as a puppy and knows her commands. She walks well on leash and responds to training cues. She also has a platform that she will place on when told. Cali definitely has anxiety and seems fearful of others. We love her so much and we have tried for over two years but we realize that we are not able to handle her aggression. She has bit before and has tried attacking our cats. She also resource guards her food and toys even with our son. We do have a muzzle when we have company. We are hoping to be able to find her an experienced owner who can give her the help she needs. It would be best if she wasn’t in a home with small children or other pets. Comes with her crate, bed, food, and collar.
