Story
Bandit was adopted from our rescue as a pup and was sadly brought back because his adopter was having a baby and unable to care for him. He is a loving boy who is used to lots of room to run and play. He loves the outdoors, making him a wonderful camping/hiking partner. He has been raised around kids, but because he is a cattledog, he may try to nip them. He means no harm; it's just his breed. Bandit is housebroken and crate trained according to his previous family. He has lived with other dogs but has not been tested around cats. If you would like to adopt Bandit, please submit an application https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/66b189c45d6f9afa2c07afb8/66b954c3bf28ecca4c04aecb

Story
Stella is a sweet and gentle 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart as big as her soft, soulful eyes. Though she can be shy at first, once she gets to know you, Stella will shower you with love, cuddles, and plenty of sweet kisses! Stella came to us from a difficult dog-hoarding situation where she lived with over 15 other dogs. This high-stress environment left her needing time to feel safe and comfortable in new surroundings. But once she warms up, her affectionate and loyal nature truly shines. One of Stella’s favorite activities is running and playing in our Bark Park with her kennel mate, Thumper, and her buddy, Oswald. She seems to do well with other dogs but appreciates a patient introduction to let her trust and confidence grow. Stella is already spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, so she’s ready to go to her forever home! It’s important to note that Stella has luxating patellas (loose kneecaps) in both her back legs, a condition that may require surgery as she gets older. Stella does have an anti-inflammatory that she takes when her knees "act up." This condition may also cause arthritis to set in earlier in life. Despite this, she remains active, happy, and full of life! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will reward your patience with endless love and devotion, Stella could be the perfect match. Come meet her today—your new best friend is waiting! 🐾 Ready to Adopt? Here's How! The first step in our adoption process is submitting an application through our website. Simply visit: https://www.hoovesandpaws.org/shelterluv.html, click on the pet’s photo to view their full bio, then click “Apply for Adoption” to get started. Please give us a few days to review your application. If approved, you’ll receive an email from adoptions@hoovesandpaws.org to schedule a meet and greet (including any necessary dog-to-dog introductions). If the meet and greet goes well and you’d like to move forward, we’ll schedule a home check—this means we’ll bring your new furry friend to your home ourselves. This helps ensure a smooth transition and gives your new pup a familiar face upon arrival. We’ll finalize the adoption at that time! Questions, comments, or concerns? Reach out to us anytime at adoptions@hoovesandpaws.org. We're here to help!

Story
We adopted Cali two years ago from a local rescue when she was a puppy. She is a sweet dog to those she likes. Cali is a shy and anxious dog who bonds strongly with our family and loves to cuddle. She is house-trained and crate-trained. She has had three weeks of professional training as a puppy and knows her commands. She walks well on leash and responds to training cues. She also has a platform that she will place on when told. Cali definitely has anxiety and seems fearful of others. We love her so much and we have tried for over two years but we realize that we are not able to handle her aggression. She has bit before and has tried attacking our cats. She also resource guards her food and toys even with our son. We do have a muzzle when we have company. We are hoping to be able to find her an experienced owner who can give her the help she needs. It would be best if she wasn’t in a home with small children or other pets. Comes with her crate, bed, food, and collar. DNA done.
