Meet Moss, a 4-month-old Border Collie mix with a sweet heart. He presently weighs 15 to 20 pounds and will mature to between 40 and 45 pounds. Moss is a friendly boy who loves to play with humans and other dogs alike. He was found on a farm in the area and was brought to us in rescue. We're so glad they did because he's a real doll baby! (posted 2/3/26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. I can be unpredictable so I am looking for a family with no kids 15 and under. Look deep into my different colored eyes - then get me a ball! I LOVE to play fetch! The second I see a ball or hear you say the word, I'm ready to play. I know how to fetch and I'll bring the ball right back to you and drop it at your feet. I also love water and getting sprayed with a hose! I've been lucky to join doggy social here at FOHA and I have enjoyed playing with other dogs. I love going for walks as I get to know the volunteers and they get to know me. As much as I like new dogs I am not comfortable around a lot of new people. So I would not do well in a dog park or doggie daycare. I'll go ahead and say it, I'm extremely smart. I'm looking for an active family that will put my intelligence to good use. I would love to have a huge fenced in backyard to chase my ball until my heart is content. Apartments and condos will not be a good fit for me. Among all the activities, soccer is my absolute favorite, and I can't resist a thrilling match with my volunteer friends at FOHA. I've had a taste of home life before, where I shared the space with another dog. Things started off well, but I quickly realized that I might be at my best as the only four-legged companion in the house. If you're looking for an only-dog scenario, count me in! I'm a people-loving pup and have the boundless energy that's typical of a border collie mix. Bonus: I'm super soft to the touch, making cuddle time even better. Moose is about 4 months old and 18 lbs. We really have no idea on breed mix, but would guess Border Collie/Terrier mix. The mom was about 30 lbs full grown, but no idea on dad. The exact adult size is unknown since the father isn’t known, and breed is an educated guess based on appearance. Moose is a sweet and playful puppy who is great with the other dogs and children in his foster home. Moose is a pup who wants to be where the people are and will follow his foster mom from room to room as she goes about her day. Moose loves to run around the backyard with the resident dogs. Moose will require another young and playful dog in his forever home. Moose enjoys cuddling on the couch and good squeaky toy once he has drained his puppy energy. Moose is not a puppy who can be crated, but he isn't destructive when out of the crate. Moose is working on his house training and doing a great job. Because Moose is a puppy, adopters must be home for a good portion of the day to continue their training. Each puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and will need to be spayed/neutered at 6 months. Adoption fee: $400, plus a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit. For health and safety, these puppies cannot live in apartments/condos or homes without a private fenced yard and cannot visit public places (PetSmart, Petco, dog parks, etc.) until 16 weeks old due to an underdeveloped immune system. **Adopters must be at least 25 years old.** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Leo is a 9-month-old Border Collie x Great Pyrenees mix whom we adopted about 1.5 months ago. He is incredibly loving, affectionate, and playful — all he wants is to be loved, cuddled, and spend time playing. He gets along very well with our 8-year-old sibling and is gentle and friendly at home. He loves other dogs and only wants to play with them. Leo has partial house training. When left alone, he uses a pee pad but may occasionally have accidents on rugs. He will need continued, consistent house training and patience. Outside, he can be a bit restless and easily excited, so he would benefit from an experienced owner who understands active and intelligent breeds and can provide structure, training, and regular exercise. He has no health issues, is fully vaccinated, neutered, and all veterinary and vaccination records are available.
