Poncho is being fostered in Mississippi, but included in your adoption fee is transport to you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport which is the most animal friendly transport on the road! This sweet pup came to our rescue as a stray, and we believe he may be a Border Collie/Lab mix. He’s approximately 6 months old and is one fun, energetic boy! He is up to date on his vaccines and will be neutered soon. He has a medium to high energy level and absolutely LOVES his ball! 🎾 He would make a wonderful companion for an active person or family who enjoys playing, walking, and keeping a young dog busy. He loves taking walks and does very well on a leash. Because he is still very much a puppy, his new family will need to be patient and consistent with him as he continues learning the basics. He’ll need someone willing to work with him on housetraining and Training 101—basic commands, manners, leash skills, and learning what is expected of him. He’s smart, young, and ready to learn! I can be unpredictable so I am looking for a family with no kids 15 and under. Look deep into my different colored eyes - then get me a ball! I LOVE to play fetch! The second I see a ball or hear you say the word, I'm ready to play. I know how to fetch and I'll bring the ball right back to you and drop it at your feet. I also love water and getting sprayed with a hose! I've been lucky to join doggy social here at FOHA and I have enjoyed playing with other dogs. I love going for walks as I get to know the volunteers and they get to know me. As much as I like new dogs I am not comfortable around a lot of new people. So I would not do well in a dog park or doggie daycare. I'll go ahead and say it, I'm extremely smart. I'm looking for an active family that will put my intelligence to good use. I would love to have a huge fenced in backyard to chase my ball until my heart is content. Apartments and condos will not be a good fit for me.
