This girl was found wondering around a business and was brought to us. She is friendly, happy but will be a good size dog when grown. Story
https://foha.org/pet/nelson2021/ Nelson here! My new adoptive family will need to be ready to provide a lot of training which my friends at FOHA will help to coordinate at time of adoption. I can be unpredictable so I am looking for a family with no kids 15 and under. Look deep into my different colored eyes - then get me a ball! I LOVE to play fetch! The second I see a ball or hear you say the word, I'm ready to play. I know how to fetch and I'll bring the ball right back to you and drop it at your feet. I also love water and getting sprayed with a hose! I've been lucky to join doggy social here at FOHA and I have enjoyed playing with other dogs. I love going for walks as I get to know the volunteers and they get to know me. As much as I like new dogs I am not comfortable around a lot of new people. So I would not do well in a dog park or doggie daycare. I'll go ahead and say it, I'm extremely smart. I'm looking for an active family that will put my intelligence to good use. I would love to have a huge fenced in backyard to chase my ball until my heart is content. Apartments and condos will not be a good fit for me. If you would like to come meet me, submit an application and we can set up a time to get to know each other. See you soon!! I am looking for a home with no kids, no cats, house with a large backyard, and an experienced owner willing to work on training. Check out all of the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/

Story
https://foha.org/pet/pelican2022/ Hey there, I'm Pelican, and while I may be a dog, my dreams take flight! I'm a spirited and cheerful fellow, always ready for some fun and games. Among all the activities, soccer is my absolute favorite, and I can't resist a thrilling match with my volunteer friends at FOHA. I've had a taste of home life before, where I shared the space with another dog. Things started off well, but I quickly realized that I might be at my best as the only four-legged companion in the house. If you're looking for an only-dog scenario, count me in! I'm a people-loving pup and have the boundless energy that's typical of a border collie mix. Bonus: I'm super soft to the touch, making cuddle time even better. If you're considering bringing me into your life, I have a special request. I'd thrive in a home with a very experienced owner who's up for working with me on a few behavioral challenges. I'd also do best in a home without children. I'm eager to shower you with love and am more than willing to learn and grow. So, what do you say? Will you be the one to come and meet me and embark on this incredible journey together? I'm waiting to spread my wings and soar with you!

Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Mable’s puppies were born around 10/15/2025 and are currently being fostered in a loving home with their 20-lb mother. Their exact adult size is unknown since the father isn’t known, and breed is an educated guess based on appearance. Because they are very young, adopters must be home for a good portion of the day to continue their training. Each puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and will need to be spayed/neutered at 6 months. Adoption fee: $400, plus a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit. For health and safety, these puppies cannot live in apartments/condos or homes without a private fenced yard and cannot visit public places (PetSmart, Petco, dog parks, etc.) until 16 weeks old due to an underdeveloped immune system. **Adopters must be at least 25 years old.** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Kaia is a 2 year old Australian Blue Heeler with lots of energy. She is a really sweet dog, loves to run outside within the electric fence. She also enjoys walking - both on a leash and hiking off leash. She is well trained (and often wears a remote training collar) - understanding the "sit", "come", "heel", and "place" commands. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, and in good health. She rides well in cars. She loves to give dog kisses and loves to have her belly rubbed, but she is not a lapdog. She will take time to relax on her bed if she is occupied with a bone or other chewable. She is good with other dogs (except while eating - she is food aggressive and does not like other dogs coming up to her while eating). She is also great around other animals. We have chickens, rabbits, and cats and she has never been aggressive or hurt any of the animals. We are rehoming Kaia because she needs a more active lifestyle than we provide with all of her energy.
