Story
Meet Butters Butters is a playful, expressive Border Collie mix pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s currently working on crate training, potty training, and learning how to walk on a leash—he’s not quite as far along as his other foster buddy Waffles, but he’s making steady progress every day.  Born around Feb. 5th of 2026, this boy is destined to be a very handsome semi-long haired adult boy that will reach the medium range of 50 pounds. One thing you’ll notice right away is that Butters has a lot to say with his voice. He’s more vocal than your average puppy and loves to growl and “talk” during playtime—but it’s all in good fun. It’s just his way of getting into the game and showing his excitement. Butters plays hard with his foster siblings and gets along great with just about everyone—kids, cats, dogs, and adults. He’s social, friendly, and happy to be part of the action. When it’s time to eat, he’s polite and shares his dinner nicely with others.  The Border Collie breed is an active and very intelligent breed of dog.  Butters would benefit from a fenced yard and constant socialization with lots of people and lots of dogs to play with often.  Daily leash walks is great for this breed and it creates such a good bonding time for the owner to establish a closer relationship and affirming the position of who is the leader in the relationship....you and human.  If you’re looking for a fun-loving, energetic pup who will keep you entertained and grow alongside you then Butters could be your perfect match.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue for more information at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 2, 2026, 11:49 am

Story
Meet Tom — the life of the party wrapped in puppy fluff! This confident, spunky Border Collie mix is bursting with personality and keeps the fun going from sunup to sundown. Whether he’s romping around with his puppy crew or proudly parading through the house with his latest “treasure” (yes… usually a sock), Tom brings laughter everywhere he goes. His signature victory strut? Iconic. His pouty little face when he wants his way? Absolutely irresistible. Born around February 5th, Tom is expected to grow into a handsome 45–50 pound adventure buddy with a soft, slightly longer coat that’s just begging to be pet. He’s already off to a great start—he knows how to sit and is eager to keep learning, especially if treats or praise are involved! Tom loves his people just as much as he loves playtime, and he settles nicely in his kennel when it’s time to recharge. He’d thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can zoom, explore, and burn off that fun-loving energy. Add in daily leash walks, and you’ll quickly become his favorite person (and fearless leader). If your home could use more laughter, more energy, and a whole lot of puppy charm—Tom is ready to deliver. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to meet this unforgettable little guy!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 2, 2026, 11:49 am

Story
When you first meet Frejo, there’s something about him that feels different—like you’re looking into the eyes of a puppy with an old soul. This incredibly handsome Border Collie mix, born around February 5th, has the look of a little black bear with his soft, fluffy coat and thoughtful expression. Frejo came from Kentucky with his four brothers, all sharing that striking black or black-and-white coloring, but there’s something uniquely special about him. At around 12 pounds now, he’s expected to grow into a stunning 45–50 pound adult—your future “black nugget of perfection.” But Frejo is more than just good looks—he’s a thinker. A smart, observant puppy who takes in the world around him and responds with curiosity and heart. He adores snuggling with his foster mom and has become quite the star during puppy yoga sessions, happily soaking up attention, pets, and love from everyone he meets. Watching him romp around with joyful zoomies is pure happiness in motion. Like any young pup, Frejo will need continued guidance, structure, and training—but he’s already off to an amazing start. He’s almost fully housebroken, crate trained, and eager to learn (he even figured out how to get on the bed in under a minute!). He plays beautifully with other dogs and would thrive in a home ready to nurture his intelligence and loving spirit. Frejo would make a wonderful addition to a family with respectful children and would especially love a fenced yard where he can safely run, play, and embrace his Border Collie energy. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, joyful, and deeply special companion into your life, Frejo is waiting for you.To learn more or apply, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Be sure to include your location—Frejo is fostered in Tennessee, and transport is available to multiple northeastern states every weekend.

Meet our wonderfully handsome Border Collie mix boy puppy named Waffles  Waffles is as sweet as his name and ready to find his forever home! This lovable guy is doing great with both crate training and potty training, and he’s already showing what a good housemate he can be. He loves to play hard with his foster siblings and has a fun, goofy energy—balanced by his gentle side, like happily sharing dinner without a fuss. His current favorite “toy”?   An old Croc… and honestly, it’s his prized possession. Waffles should grow to be a 45-50 pound adult Border Collie mix and he will be the smartest and most loving companion you could ever own.  He is in his high learning phase and still learning the ropes when it comes to walking on a leash and he’s making progress every day. He’s never met a stranger and loves to be told how handsome he is. Story
Cassava—“Sava” to those who love her—is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart and then never lets it go. This lovely 3-year-old Border Collie/Basset mix, weighing 34 pounds, is the perfect blend of charm, intelligence, and easygoing companionship.   Sava’s story is one of love and doing the right thing. She was adopted from a local humane society by a young man who adored her, but as life settled in, his long workdays—often 10 to 12 hours at a time—left Sava spending too much time alone. Wanting more for her than he could provide, he searched for help and never gave up until Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in to change the course of her life. Now Sava is ready for her true forever home—and what a gem she is.   She has a beautifully balanced personality: playful when it’s time for fun, but just as happy to relax and cuddle when the day winds down. She enjoys being active and would love regular exercise, but she’s not high-strung or overwhelming. While she’d certainly enjoy having a yard to run in, she’s proven she can adapt to apartment living as long as her physical and mental needs are met. Sava is housebroken and crate trained, and she settles well when crated during longer absences. She’s still polishing her leash skills, but with a little consistency, she’ll be a wonderful walking companion. Like many clever dogs, she has a playful streak—especially when it comes to paper products—so a dog-savvy home setup is always a plus.   When it comes to companionship, Sava checks every box. She’s gentle and loving with children, social and playful with other dogs, and even respectful of cats. Her temperament makes her an easy addition to many types of households.   Sava isn’t just a beautiful dog—she’s the kind of loyal, loving companion who will be by your side through it all, whether you’re out exploring or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home.    If you’ve been searching for a dog who brings together personality, adaptability, and heart, Sava is ready to meet you.   To learn more or request an application, please email: ccrnewengland@gmail.com       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 2, 2026, 11:49 am

Story
Barnaby is a young 7 month old pup that catches your eye and also your heart when you first meet him.  He is a wonderful young boy that weighs 34 pounds and should become a handsome adult dog that will weigh in the range of 50 pounds as an adult.  His life started with great hope but eventually the people who adopted this cute pup became cold hearted and treated him with physical hits and loud voices when he was not the perfect puppy.  A neighbor intervened and begged Critter Cavalry Rescue to take this young and innocent pup in to our program.  Barnaby escaped years of emotional and physical abuse.  He is such a bright and happy spirit that just needs some time to get his mind wrapped around the love that is being offered to him now.  No loud voices and the forgiveness when he is NOT perfect.  He is so nice and submissive and humble in spirit.  He just wants to be accepted and have fun with other dogs and maybe become good friends with a cat if needed.   His breed is more of a Shepherd/Heeler mix and we just adore his strong black and tan coat that is crowned with the best standup ears ever!   His face pleads with you to be happy with him and to be his FRIEND.  Can you imagine all these past months how sad it was not to feel love?  Critter Cavalry Rescue knows that there is a caring family, person,  young couple or empty nesters who just want to pour their love for a dog in need upon a boy like Barnaby.  He is neutered, had all his necessary shots, microchipped, healthy and truly not emotionally damaged.  He just needs that promise of kindness, steady guidance in gentle voices and love.   Love heals everything and makes us forget when love wasn't there in the past.  Barnaby will be a smart and easy dog to polish into a phenomenal companion influence in your daily life.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 2, 2026, 11:49 am

Story
Kenny is the kind of dog who doesn’t need to demand attention—he simply earns your heart by being quietly, wonderfully present. This stunning 3-year-old Australian Shepherd, with his rich brown merle coat and soulful eyes, has a calm, steady spirit that feels like home from the moment you meet him. At 50 pounds, he’s the perfect size to be your constant companion—never far, always devoted.   After spending six long months waiting in a small New Mexico shelter, Kenny is more than ready to leave that chapter behind and embrace the love he’s always deserved. Despite a slight vision impairment, he moves through life with confidence and grace, never letting it slow him down. In fact, his resilience only makes him more remarkable.   Kenny is incredibly smart, beautifully mannered on a leash, and fully potty trained. He’s the kind of dog who finds joy in the simplest things—resting quietly at your feet, leaning gently against you, or soaking in every bit of affection you’re willing to give. He’s gentle with everyone he meets, wonderful with other dogs, and has a soft, kind nature that makes him truly special. Offer him a treat and he’ll happily sit… and if you’re lucky, he might even place his paw in your hand like a quiet promise of loyalty.   He would thrive in a peaceful home with a fenced yard where he can safely explore and enjoy the calm life he’s been waiting for. Kenny isn’t just looking for a home—he’s looking for his person. Someone to love, to follow, and to quietly adore every single day.   If you’re ready for a deeply loyal, affectionate companion who will bring a sense of peace and devotion into your life, Kenny is waiting for you. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and give this beautiful soul the forever home he’s been dreaming of.   version 2There is something truly special about Kenny—the kind of presence that instantly puts you at ease and makes you feel like you’ve known him forever. This beautiful 3-year-old Australian Shepherd, weighing 50 pounds and dressed in a striking brown merle coat, is the definition of gentle devotion.   Kenny’s past hasn’t been easy. He spent six long months in a small New Mexico shelter, quietly waiting and hoping for someone to see him. But what makes Kenny extraordinary is not where he’s been—it’s the love he still has to give. Despite a slight eyesight impairment, he navigates the world with quiet confidence, never missing a step when it comes to companionship.   He’s incredibly intelligent, fully house-trained, and walks like a dream on a leash. But what truly sets Kenny apart is his heart. His favorite place in the world is right beside you—whether that’s lying at your feet, resting his head nearby, or simply being your shadow. He doesn’t ask for much, just the comfort of knowing he belongs.   Kenny is wonderful with other dogs, kind with people of all ages, and has a calm, easygoing nature that makes him a perfect fit for a relaxed home. He’ll sit politely for treats and might gently offer you his paw, as if to say, “I’m yours.”   He would love a home with a fenced yard where he can safely enjoy the outdoors, but more than anything, he’s looking for a person to love with his whole heart. Kenny is the kind of dog who will quietly, faithfully, and completely change your life.   If you’re searching for a loyal companion who will bring warmth, peace, and unconditional love into your home, Kenny is ready to meet you. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let this incredible boy become your best friend.

Story
Stella is a friendly and intelligent dog with plenty of energy. We want her to be happy and have a space where she can run around and play with other dogs. Previously, Stella lived in the mountains of Colorado, where she enjoyed a large fenced yard and had lots of friends to play with. Now, she is living in a townhouse without a yard, which has been challenging for her. As a very active young lady, she is currently feeling unhappy. Stella is a mix of Australian Cattle Dog, Husky, German Shepherd, and Golden Retriever, and she is expected to weigh around 30 pounds. She is a loving and eager-to-learn dog who picks up new skills quickly. Stella would be an amazing agility dog, as this would engage both her mind and her need for physical activity. If agility training isn't your interest, she would also thrive in an active lifestyle with an avid walker, hiker, or runner.  Stella is a very quick learner and was immediately fully potty trained.     To ensure the best for Stella, her new owners should have a yard or live on a farm, and it would be great if they have another dog and children.  Stella has plenty of energy to add playing at home to her list of activities.    Stella has been spayed and is current on all her shots until May 2026.  To be considered for her forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Stella is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)  March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm
