Story
Meet Bonnie – A Brilliant, Beautiful Girl Looking for Her Forever Home   There’s something truly special about Bonnie—a gentle soul with a sharp mind, a soft heart, and a spark that’s impossible to ignore. At just 6 months old and 39 pounds, Bonnie is a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix with all the best qualities of both breeds: intelligence, loyalty, and a heart full of love. She’ll likely grow into a graceful and athletic 50-pound adult, but even now, she’s already a standout.   Bonnie isn’t just a pretty face—she’s incredibly trainable, with a natural ability to learn quickly and a deep desire to please. Whether she’s mastering house training (which she already has!) or perfecting her fetch-and-retrieve game (one of her favorite things to do), Bonnie proves every day that she’s ready and eager to become an amazing companion. With just a little time and guidance, this girl could shine in obedience, agility, or just being the smartest dog in your neighborhood.   Her energy is beautifully balanced—she’s playful and fun without being hyper, and she settles down easily for snuggles and downtime. Bonnie gets along wonderfully with dogs big and small at her foster home, handling every introduction with joyful curiosity and a wagging tail. She’s affectionate, adaptable, and deeply connected to the people she bonds with.   Bonnie’s story is one of potential waiting for a solid commitment.  She was originally adopted by a family with a teenage son who loved her but quickly became too busy with school and sports to give her the time she needed. His parents made the difficult but loving choice to find her a new home through Critter Cavalry Rescue, and now she’s patiently waiting for a family who will truly see what a gift she is.   She’s spayed, vaccinated, house-trained, and rides beautifully in the car. Bonnie is still working on leash manners, but with her eagerness to learn and your gentle guidance, she’ll pick it up in no time. While she’s been around cats, her curiosity might be a bit much for a feline sibling—so a cat-free home would be best.   If you’ve been searching for a dog who’s not only beautiful but deeply intelligent, endlessly loyal, and full of love, Bonnie is your girl. She’s ready to give her whole heart to someone willing to help her grow into the amazing dog she was born to be.    To adopt Bonnie, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   Bonnie is more than a good dog—she’s a once-in-a-lifetime companion just waiting to bloom.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 27, 2025, 12:09 pm

Story
This beautiful girl is called Kenzie and she is a Border Collie mix  from what we can tell due to her size, temperament and the very silky soft fur that adorns her.  This girl is about 6 months old and weighs 32 pounds and is such a spunky and active girl that is happy, charming, and ready for any adventure that you want to ask her to join you in.  Her story is not uncommon in the south, but it definitely was one of  neglect.   Our girl Kenzie is a survivor and a brilliant puppy. Her persona is one of vibrance in life and resilience, topped with confidence.  She adores other dogs, young children and never meets an adult stranger.  She has beautiful eyes that are the color of blue in one and brown in the other.  Her charming personality is bold, happy and full of smiles and energy.  She embraces life with the full expectancy that she will give good love to others and good love will come back to her.And that is what we have promised her at Critter Cavalry Rescue. We will not settle for anything but the best. Our hope is that she will have a home filled with laughter and activities thar also include a home with a fenced yard, and long walks or jogs, along with excursions in the car that the best of great outdoor events. She brings great karma to all who meet her.   If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained and undeniable beauty, then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. She is located in Nashville, TN and able to transport on a weekend to the northeast to a new family. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 1, 2025, 12:43 am

Story
Nelly is a purebred Border Collie who is 5 years old, 45 pounds, and has lived her entire life outside.....until now.  We were told by a neighbor that over the years,  she has had multiple litters of pups and was pretty much neglected. Her owner ended up being incarcerated and we were able to get her original owner to surrender her to the rescue. This vibrant girl is now housebroken and wonderful with children. Other dogs and even good with cats.   We have spayed her so that she will never have to deal with giving birth to puppies outdoors ever again. When considering Nelly, we highly encourage you to do your research on Border Collies! They are NOT apartment dogs because they need a job! She is super intelligent but she needs room to run and in her case we insist on a FENCED YARD. Nelly is full of love and energy and is absolutely wonderful with young children, so much so, that you can probably train her to be their 'Nanny'!  Nelly promises a family or couple,  many years of fun and entertainment!   If you qualify with the fenced yard, the ability to give her the mental and physical stimulation every day, and of course, the devoted love, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   She is in Tennessee, but we do transport to the northeast with our van filled with adopted dogs and cats every weekend Currently in Tennessee, Nelly can hitch a ride to the Northeast in our cozy adoption van — traveling alongside a crew of fellow rescues heading to their forever homes.  Ready to make her part of your pack?Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.co   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 27, 2025, 7:54 pm

Story
In Norfolk - Meet Saint! This 2 year old, blue-eyed, handsome boy found himself in a Louisiana shelter after being seized from a cruelty case in November 2023. Set to be euthanized, ASF rescued him in his final hour! ASF also learned that poor Saint had heartworms and had to be treated for several months, which consisted of restricted activity and crate rest. He is a solid, healthy & happy boy despite having a very rough start to life. Saint likes to play fetch and chase, but he's more on the medium energy level. He is leash reactive with dogs and squirrels and pulls on the leash (and he's strong!), but we're working on that daily. He's had several foster siblings, so he'd love a home with another dog for company. He is crate trained, but doesn't need it or like it. He isn't destructive or naughty when left free in the house. He will sleep in a dog bed or next to your bed at night. He doesn't guard his food or humans and shows zero signs of aggression. He loves to be right next to (touching) his people, on the sofa or in the bed. He is very affectionate and is quickly comfortable with people. He's actually a warm, snuggle machine. Saint's foster family is working on car rides because he gets very anxious, whining and barking for the first 10 minutes or so in the car. He has an Rx for anxiety if he's going to be in the car for a longer drive or around a lot of people. He's obedient, intelligent, and eager to please. He learned how to use the doggie door in about 30 minutes and will come inside from a knock on the window or a whistle. He gets a bath, nails trimmed, and teeth brushed without issues! He knows several commands like "sit", "wait", and "down." We're also working on better front door etiquette. He has a deep, intimidating bark for such a sweet boy. Older kids would probably be best for him because he doesn't realize his own strength. His prey drive is pretty strong, so no cats or small animals. Saint can jump chain link fences. Modifications will need to be made if his new family has this type of fence. Saint is looking for a loving and patient home to provide a new life full of love and cuddles. Saint is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. He's being fostered in Norfolk, Virginia. If Saint sounds perfect for your family, please fill out the application. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

Story
Echo is a purebred (Black Merle) Australian Shepherd. She is just over 1 year old. Her birthday is April 27 2024. Echo is a very friendly and affectionate dog. Like all dogs, she loves to play and run around. She is very high energy however, and desires more of this than a typical dog. She is very shy at first around new people, but if you give her the space and time for her to come to you, this goes away pretty quick. She is not aggressive, has never bit anyone or anything. She doesn't chew anything she isn't supposed to. She is an amazing dog. I have to rehome Echo simply due to a change in my life that doesn't allow anywhere near the proper amount of time necessary to have a dog. It would be unfair and borderline cruel for me to keep her with no outlook of change to my availability for her. If you adopt Echo, I have bowls, a crate, and a leash that are in perfect condition which you are more than welcome to keep.
