Meet KFC! This handsome Border Collie mix is hoping to be the newest member of your family! While KFC has made a lot of progress & is very loving/sweet with staff, he can be a bit timid & slow to warm up to new people, so he will require any children in the home to be at least 12 or older. Additionally, he will have to meet any other dogs in the home prior to adoption for similar reasons. Lastly, any potential adopter should ready to help KFC work on his socialization & house training. If you would like to meet this lovely gentleman or if you have any questions, please ask our kennel staff & they will be happy to assist!

Story
Every litter seems to have that one puppy who steals the spotlight. The one who walks into the room like he already knows he’s special. In this trio of brothers, that boy is Snoopy Dog. In fact, the foster dad caring for these puppies doesn’t even try to hide it—he says Snoopy Dog is his favorite. And once you meet him, it’s easy to see why. Snoopy Dog is a strikingly handsome puppy with the cutest nose freckles you’ve ever seen and a perfect black-spotted mask over both eyes. His body is almost entirely snowy white with just a few round spots scattered here and there, giving him a unique look that turns heads wherever he goes. And while we were told the puppies’ mom was a Border Collie, Snoopy’s soft Lab-like ears have decided they are staying exactly where they are—flopped down and adorable, never standing up like a traditional Border Collie’s. Looks aside, this boy has the personality to match. Snoopy Dog is the brains of the brother trio. His foster family quickly noticed that he is the sharpest thinker of the bunch, always the first to figure things out and the first to try something new. He’s curious, funny, confident, and clearly aware that he’s both smart and handsome.   Snoopy Dog came into the care of Critter Cavalry Rescue along with his two brothers after a Facebook post surfaced about a rural Tennessee family that was simply “giving away” the puppies. Situations like that can be risky, and we knew these boys deserved a safer path to their future. CCR stepped in to make sure they would be raised in loving foster homes where they could receive proper veterinary care, guidance, and lots of attention. Since arriving in rescue, Snoopy Dog has received everything he needs to start life off right—neutering, worming treatments, his puppy vaccinations including parvo and distemper, rabies vaccine, microchip, and a clean bill of health. He’s also been busy learning how to be a wonderful house dog. Snoopy Dog already uses the doggie door and is fully housebroken, which is impressive for such a young puppy. At just about 10 weeks old, he already weighs around 15 pounds, and we expect he will grow into a handsome 50-pound adult. This boy is playful, energetic, and ready to explore the world. He enjoys playing with his brothers, meeting people, and discovering new things. He is currently living with a cat and has shown wonderful manners, learning to respect the cat’s space and understanding that sometimes the cat simply isn’t interested in puppy games.   Soon it will be time for Snoopy Dog to leave the nest. Around March 27th he will be ready to say goodbye to his brothers and begin a brand-new chapter with a loving, active family. A fenced yard would be ideal for this curious and playful boy, along with a family ready to continue teaching him routines, manners, and all the adventures that come with being part of a family. Snoopy Dog is smart, charming, and full of personality. He’s ready to bring laughter, fun, and plenty of love into the home lucky enough to adopt him.   If you’re interested in welcoming Snoopy Dog into your family, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. He could be riding the transport van the last weekend of March and heading straight toward his forever home—maybe with you.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 11, 2026, 12:09 am

Story
Sometimes a puppy comes along who doesn’t have to do much to steal your heart. All it takes is one look—those soft green eyes gazing up at you—and you know exactly what he’s asking. “Please pick me up.” And that is how everyone falls in love with Bleu. This special male puppy is a beautiful chocolate-and-white Border Collie mix puppy with a gentle nature and a talent for charming every human he meets. He may still be young, but he already knows how to work a room with his sweet face and calm, affectionate personality. Bleu is one of three brothers—along with Zane and Snoop Dog—who came into the care of Critter Cavalry Rescue after their story appeared in a Facebook post. A rural Tennessee family was simply giving the puppies away, and situations like that can quickly lead to unsafe futures. CCR stepped in to ensure these boys would instead have the chance to grow up safe, healthy, and well-loved.   Since arriving in rescue, the puppies have been raised in foster homes where they receive medical care, guidance, structure, and plenty of affection. We like to call it our Puppy Kingdom—a place where puppies learn routines, social skills, and what it means to be part of a loving home. Born around the first of January, Bleu is getting close to the age when he will be ready to leave the nest. Soon he will say goodbye to his brothers and the foster family who has cared for him so lovingly, and begin the next chapter with a family of his very own. Bleu is the quiet observer of the trio. He’s the smallest brother by about a pound, but his personality is wonderfully unique. While his siblings may jump into everything first, Bleu prefers to watch, think, and then join in. He loves to lounge nearby, soaking in the world around him, before suddenly launching into playful zoomies. He’s also the most talkative of the group in the sweetest way. Bleu expresses himself with little groans, soft barks, and gentle whines when something surprises him—like getting a vaccination. His foster family lovingly calls him their “sensitive boy,” because he simply feels things deeply and bonds closely with the people around him. Bleu has already done an excellent job learning the doggie door and is doing very well with potty training. He’s a thoughtful learner who just needs a family willing to continue teaching and encouraging him as he grows. All three brothers are incredibly social and affectionate. They love meeting people, enjoy other dogs, and even share their home with a confident orange tabby cat who clearly runs the household. The puppies have learned to treat their feline roommate with great respect. Bleu is sweet, charming, and full of potential. We are hoping to find an active home—especially one familiar with Border Collies—that will appreciate his thoughtful personality and give him the love, activity, and companionship he deserves.   He will be ready to travel from Nashville to the Northeast on March 28th to meet his forever family. If Bleu has already captured your heart, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting him.

Story
This handsome 4.5 month old puppster is called Boy George and he is what you would call….a character.  A Border Collie mix puppy who is smart and mischievous and a leader in life.  He was born in a litter of 8 puppies around the middle of October and he was the biggest kid in the bunch. He is laidback yet very much an involved pup when it comes to creating dog events that are fun and inquisitive.  He is one that doesn’t back down because he knows that he can win the challenge with his tenacity.  Boy George has conquered all the obligations in his life to learn about housebreaking, crate time and how to walk on a leash with at least a B- rating.  Practice will make perfect when in a family that has more one on one time for him.  He is going to be a 55 pound boy once he is grown.  His Mom is Blue Eyed Kaye and she is a wonderful girl with a happy demeanor and has certainly passed it along to all her sweet offspring.  Boy George is a good pup but he is looking for an even smarter owner that will figure him out before he slips one in on you. He is loving and can be an attention grabber because when you are raised in a pack of 8 siblings, you kind of crave some private time for yourself.  Boy George will be a fun pup to raise and one that will excel at puppy training classes.  At 18 weeks of age and 32 pounds, he is a great size to take on car rides, walks on a trail or  your local neighborhood.  He will welcome new dogs and people to meet and did we mention that he LOVES CATS!   To our Boy George they are just another friend in life!   We will require a home with a securely fenced yard so that this boy can explore and hang out in the great outdoors/backyard.  He is not a digger and he is not a fence climber.  But he is a dog that requires the stimulation both physically and mentally every day.  Teach him things and he will make you a proud dog owner. Someone is looking for a dog like this.  Maybe an only dog in the home or just a great addition because he will be play buddies with anyone.  But always know that you must be the leader of your pack and Boy George.  He craves the boundaries and rules.  He thrives best not having his way and is so moldable.  If interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Mention where you live, city and state.  Transport is available to the northeast outside of Tennessee where he is being fostered PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 11, 2026, 12:09 am

Story
If you’re looking for brilliance wrapped in freckles and puppy kisses, meet Zane. Born around January 3rd, this spunky little Border Collie mix is already proving he’s at the top of his class. Zane doesn’t just learn — he excels. While most puppies are still figuring things out, this bright boy is already heading to the back door to politely alert his foster mom when he needs to go potty. House training graduation? Just a week or two away. We have no doubt he’ll earn that diploma with honors. Zane is one-third of what we lovingly call the Three Amigos — along with his brothers Bleu and Snoopy. Together, they are a whirlwind of freckled faces, tumbling paws, and pure joy. Wrestling? Mastered. Running and jumping? Conquered. Backyard zoomies? Olympic level. But when the play session winds down and the excitement fades, Zane reveals his softer side. He seeks out his foster mom, curls up beside her, and sleeps peacefully for hours. For all his energy and intelligence, he is deeply affectionate and thrives on connection. He currently sleeps in a kennel with his brothers and is doing beautifully with structure and routine. Zane is the kind of puppy who will flourish with an active, engaged family that understands the needs of a smart working-breed mix. He will need consistency, continued training, and ideally a safe, secure fenced yard where he can stretch those athletic legs and put that sharp mind to good use. The “School of Love” may be his favorite class of all. Snuggles? Perfect attendance. Kisses and hugs? Straight A’s. Cozy naps next to his warm human? Advanced placement. Zane bonds deeply and will give his whole heart to his person. At an estimated 45 pounds full grown, he will be the perfect size for adventures by day and couch time by night. Zane isn’t just a cute puppy. He’s a smart, devoted future companion who will grow into an incredible dog for the right family. If you are ready for commitment, activity, laughter, and a loyal best friend, Zane is ready for you. Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you’re interested. Be sure to include your city and state, as we transport from Tennessee and adopt both locally and to the northeastern region.

Story
MAX - 6 years old, kid/cat/dog social, typical cattle dog behavior   Max is a vibrant and active boy surrendered for being too hyper and needing more room for his energy.   This dog needs exercise, playtime and room to move.  This dog needs exercise, playtime and room to move.  This dog needs exercise, playtime and room to move.    Reinforcing the fact that this boy is always on the move, please do some research on cattle dogs bc they, like all other breeds, have specific characteristics which may or may not align with your family's lifestyle.   Max is fun. He is the one bouncing off the walls. He is ready to go at all times.   He was silly in our shelter playgroup yard with the other dogs. He ran and chased and grabbed other dogs in his cattle dog style... always with a smile on his face!   Max is also great with children and cats.   He has some separation anxiety and is known to be destructive in the home if left alone. We recommend crating in these instances. PS He is already crate trained so there you go!   If you have done your research on the breed and feel Max would fit in perfectly with you and your family, come on in to meet him!  He is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see him, please just ask!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 30, 2025, 9:42 am

Story
This is Toasty. She was a stray foster to adopt for my family this past November. Found lost, and helped get her back on her feet through the SPCA foster program! Found around 4/6 months old. She has since been spayed this February, and estimated to be close to a year now at just 27lbs! She is basic command trained, bed trained, and crate. We quickly noticed how reactive towards other dogs/anxious she was and we quickly began to try to train her more after being a stray! We have run into Toast not being able to break these habits with other dogs/in public. It has become a concern over the past two months as she has nipped at a smaller dog. She is kind with some dogs. She is an only dog home. But loves people! We strived to give her a new loving home after finding her, but unfortunately haven’t seen a behavioral change. She is great with children, but not with many animals around. She adores my 9 and 3 year old. She will come with all her beds, crate, toys, etc!
