Story
Milo came into my life in 2022 while I was living in China. He started as my foster dog, but I quickly fell in love with him and officially adopted him. I brought him with me when I moved to Virginia in 2023, and my mom has lovingly cared for him since then. Due to my current living situation overseas, I am no longer able to provide Milo with the home he deserves, and my mom is no longer able to care for him long term. This is an incredibly difficult decision, but I am committed to finding him a loving forever home. Milo is a sweet, affectionate, playful 4-year-old boy who weighs about 31 lbs. He enjoys being around people and has done well with other dogs. He can be nervous around loud or unexpected noises and needs a patient, understanding family who will give him time to adjust. Milo is currently on medication for his anxiety. Milo has been loved deeply throughout his life. I am looking for someone who will make him part of their family and love him for the rest of his life. ❤️

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Lola! Lola is a young Border Collie mix with a happy, playful personality and plenty of puppy enthusiasm. She is great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends to play with. She has even learned to play tug nicely with another puppy in her foster home. We recommend a home without cats for Lola. She is very interested in them and tends to follow and mouth at them. Her behavior appears playful rather than aggressive, but it can be stressful for cats—even those accustomed to dogs. Like many young dogs who simply weren't taught manners early in life, Lola can be mouthy and likes to jump when she gets excited. She may also grab at ankles or legs during play. It's all part of her enthusiastic puppy play style, and she would benefit from an adopter willing to continue teaching her appropriate ways to play and greet people. Lola is crate trained and house trained. Her energy level is medium to high: she's always happy to start a game, but after she's gotten some energy out, she's equally content to settle into quieter play or chew on a favorite toy. When Lola first arrived, she wasn't always comfortable sharing certain high-value chew toys, particularly Nylabones. She has made great progress, and her foster hasn't seen any recent disagreements over toys. She is now regularly playing and interacting nicely with the other dogs in the home. Lola does have a seizure disorder and will need lifelong medication and routine veterinary monitoring to make sure her medication continues to control her seizures appropriately. This will be an important commitment for her adopter, but her seizures don't define her. Otherwise, Lola is a normal, happy young dog who loves to play, loves other dogs, and is still learning how to be the best girl she can be. Riley is about 7 years old. We adopted him 2.5 years ago and he has been a great dog, but he has struggled over the last year to adjust to a new baby in the house- he likes adults and older children, but the baby makes him anxious. Riley is very active and intelligent. He loves hiking and running, and is energetic outside but generally calm indoors. He listens very well. You can put food in front of him, tell him to wait, leave the room for 5 minutes, and come back to find that he has not moved. He is very affectionate and loves humans. He has lived with cats successfully. He is not destructive at all- he has never once chewed up any of our belongings and he completely house trained. Important: Riley does not like other dogs! He cannot live with them, and his humans need to be vigilant when taking him places where other dogs are present. Riley would do well with an active person/couple/family who would enjoy his intelligence and energy.
