Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation WAIVED if picked up in TN, $100 plus transport fee for out of state adoptions. Meet Burt, a joyful, goofy and lovable mixed breed pup looking for his forever home! Burt is just over one year old and weighs in at 53 pounds. With his possible Border Collie and Mountain Cur heritage, Burt brings a perfect blend of playfulness and smarts. In a familiar environment, he's a happy medium-energy dog who enjoys making his humans laugh. One of Burt's most endearing habits is his "yoga" pose, where he stretches out with his legs behind him. It's a sight that never fails to bring a smile! He has a particular fondness for squeaky toys, often carrying them around like prized possessions. Burt knows a few commands, including sitting for a treat and going into his kennel on command. He is fully housetrained and has even started ringing bells on the back door to signal when he needs to go out. His crate training is impeccable, making him a great companion for someone who needs to be away during the workday. This charming pup loves belly rubs, ear scratches, running with other dogs, and digging for critters in the yard. While he can be timid around new people, especially men, he warms up quickly with treats and the presence of other dog friends. Although he's not a fan of cats or livestock, he would thrive in a home with a similarly energetic dog. Burt had a tough start in life. He was brought to us injured after being shot in the face, and there are still some bullet fragments lodged there. This makes him breathe (and snore) loudly and sometimes gives him a runny nose, but otherwise, he is not affected by his past injuries. Burt is looking for a loving home with a fenced yard where he can safely play and explore. His ideal family would be patient and willing to continue his training, helping him learn new tricks and build confidence. Burt's resilience and loving nature make him a truly special dog ready to bring joy to his new home.  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. September 12, 2024, 4:33 pm

This week guy was left locked in a cage for a couple of months. Since he's been in rescue, he is very affectionate and playful. Loves dogs, and kids but not a cat guy. We think he's about three years old and he weighs 40 pounds. Would love to have someone to run and play tug with. He would love a fun active family. Story
How can you look Selena in those puppy eyes and not fall in love? She has been looking for love in all the wrong places. Somebody dropped her off at a house and the homeowner said if we would not take her, he would just take and dump her off at someone else's place. This is way too good a dog for that nonsense! Selena is such a perfect little lady. She is very sweet and loving. She adores running and playing but she is all for the attention from her human friends. She gets along well with other dogs and loves kids. She would make a wonderful addition to anyone's family. Selena has been fully vetted, spayed and microchipped. She is ready to go to her forever home. Won't you please click on the big black "Ask about ME" button and find out more about her? This girl is currently in TN but the transport to your area is included in your fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Story
This pup is being fostered in Athens TN. Transport to the Great Lakes area and the North East available to your area and if you’re seeing this on adopt a pet the fees for transport are included in the adoption fee! We use Rescue Riders for all our pet transport needs because they are the best! Do you Love Lucy? We love Lucy! This sweet pup found herself on the urgent list at our local city shelter. We are dumbfounded that she was there at our local city shelter for so long and no one came to claim her and no one wanted to adopt her. She is quite an awesome dog! She is smart and loving. She likes to give hugs and kisses. She loves to play with other dogs she would do great in a home with another dog that also loves to play. An active home would be great for her as well. She will need to have physical and mental stimulation in order to love a happy balanced life. She walks ok on leash. Some pulling but not too bad just needs a little twerking on the leash manners. She knows sit and her recall is pretty good. She is crate trained and house trained. Would do best with older children due to her size she would probably knock toddlers down by mistake when playing or loving on them. Please Apply at petpath.org

These pups are in Staunton, Virginia too!

Story
This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys. If you are interested in learning more about Kevin (puppy), please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application. Once we review it, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.
