Story
Introducing Fate, the ultimate athlete in search of her forever home! This energetic Border Collie is looking for a family passionate about sports, especially disc play.Fate has been fostered by our behavior specialist and has made great progress with our positive reinforcement program. Her house training is impeccable, and she has mastered a wide range of commands, making her an absolute delight to have around. She's also been trained in toss and fetch, Updog games, and is currently honing her skills in freestyle, expanding her already impressive repertoire of abilities. Her leash skills still need work, and a commitment to continue training is required.    Not only is Fate a star on the field, but she's also a total sweetheart off it. She gets along famously with all animals and adores spending time with kids. She is affectionate and kind hearted, and is happy to meet new people.   She is never shy about asking for affection.    Fate excels in all things athletic and loves to showcase her impressive jumping skills over a 4-foot fence, so she'll need a home with a 6-foot fence or a commitment to not leaving her alone outside. Priority for adoption will be given to families local to 22974 willing to continue her training at GDU and interested in joining our disc team. However, adopters outside our area will be considered with proof of dog sport experience and a commitment to ongoing training. Fate's infectious love for life is evident in her enthusiastic greetings and wagging tail and those around her cannot help but smile when she is near.   If you're ready to add a dynamic and loving companion to your family, Fate is the perfect match. At the time you are seeing this post, this dog is still available for adoption. But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time. Please READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION and complete an adoption application, if you are interested in any of our animals. Application at www.greendogsunleashed.org If you send an inquiry to ask if the dog is still available, or just tell us you are interested, your inquiry will not be answered. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. We can do NOTHING without that. No, we cannot tell you if he would be a match for your family without seeing an application. PLEASE KEEP READING for info. */*/* PLEASE NOTE: The first communication you will receive after completing an application will be an email response, which will have instructions on how to proceed. Please check your inbox AND spam folders for the next 48 hours, for this email. We will not begin processing an application without the information requested in that email. */*/* We are happy to consider applicants from out of state on most dogs. Please read the description to see if this dog is an exception. If the applicant is approved to adopt, they MUST be willing to come to our location in Troy, VA, for a meet and greet. If all parties agree that the pup and family are a good fit, they would take the pup home at that time. For more information about our mission and for an APPLICATION for adoption, please go to www.greendogsunleashed.com. GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of $400.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well. */*/* Young puppies will receive age-appropriate vaccines, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters may be required to provide additional puppy boosters and at 16 weeks of age, a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing and monthly heartworm preventative are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter. *****Due to the sheer number of animals and applications in our program, coupled with a limited number of volunteers, applicants MUST have patience as we process applications.   If you do not hear back from us, the animal may have been adopted.   We strive to let people know but sadly cannot offer reasons for denial beyond that.  Any harassment of our volunteers will go unanswered and we will simply block you.   Our volunteers spend their time working hard to ensure the very best for each animal.   Please remember the animal, not the applicant, is our client.*****  ##1918161##

Story
INTRODUCING MISSY! Missy is a short, stout gal who is about 10-12 months old and looks like she may be a border collie/aussie mix. Missy found herself in a rural shelter with more dogs than adopters and she was terrified! So she made her way to ADA, so we could get her ready for adoption! Missy has learned to walk onleash and live in the house. She is great with other dogs and has been around children. She is still nervous and scared of new people and things. Missy will need a patient family who knows that she will need time to adjust to a new home and routine and may never be outgoing. She is looking for a home that is relatively quiet with a fenced in yard and at least one dog for her to model from and play with. Missy is a cute, sweet and gently soul. We hope that we can find someone who sees her qualities and offers her the home and family she needs. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out of state adoptions. Meet Samuel, the 52-pound charmer with the energy of a Border Collie and the heart of a teddy bear! This one-year-old Border Collie/Lab (possibly?) mix is the perfect combination of sweet and spirited. He's a social butterfly with dogs and a soft treat-taker from your hand. Sam's talents include sitting and working on "OFF". His perfect day involves walks, yard playtime, and some quality time with squeaky toys. Sam is very attached to his people and always wants to be near them. He is crate-trained and housetrained. Samuel walks very well on a leash - does not pull and rides well in the car. He is as loyal as they come. Sam's ideal home? One with a patient person who can match his energy, perhaps another furry friend, and a daily routine. If you're ready for a companion who'll keep up with you on all your adventures, Sam's your guy! Apply now, and let the adventures begin!    Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. April 29, 2024, 2:03 pm
