Story
BLUE - 7 years old, 70 pounds, house trained; home with older kids, only dog, no cats. *After being with his family his whole life, Blue is now sitting in a shelter because that family could no longer care for his needs.  *He is reactive from behind the cage bars but once he actually meets you outside of the cage, he is a friendly and nice boy.  *He is already house trained and used to walking on a leash.  *He isn't used to a lot of handling so it might take time for him to trust you but once that bond has been created, you are good to go!  *Blue can be trusted roaming free in a home and he would be a nice companion to take on car rides and vacations. *Blue is said to be good with other dogs but he would be best as the only dog in a home. *Blue is currently in our large dog adoption kennel so come in to meet him!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 26, 2025, 1:55 pm

Story
Axel is unfortunately a repeat visitor to our shelter. He was previously surrendered to another shelter because of being too protective over his owner. And he's here again for the same reason. He is once again looking for an owner that is understanding of the Aussie breed and will work with him on basic training and manners. Because of his reactivity, a home with no young children is recommended. His prior owners have described him as super smart, sweet and very loyal to his people. He enjoys walks, toys and cuddles. He is very protective of his people and home, so crating him when there are visitors in the home is best. Come by the shelter to meet this handsome boy today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 15, 2025, 2:35 pm

Brodie is an amazing dog but with my busy schedule and another dog to look after, I sadly cannot care for both of them as well as I anticipated when I first picked up Brodie. He's still young at 7 months and learning commands but he is potty trained and great with other pets and people.

Story
Dusty is super lovable and active. He is calm enough to not require a lot of exercise, but he can keep up with an active family too. He loves tug of war and chasing 4 wheelers. He has been trained around chickens, and stays close when we're doing chores off leash. He has done well in 2 rounds of obedience classes and loves learning new things. He does well with our small dog and my parents cat, but doesn't get along well with our other large dogs. He's nervous around our toddler because of the unpredictability, so he should be ok around older kids.

Story
Meet Alice, our darling brown and white girl that has the most memorable face and sky high ears you have ever seen.   This girl was born around the middle of May and is thought to be combination of lots of breed influences.   For starters we think that Cattle Dog and Aussie might be a mixture that are dominant for her.  She is one smart little girl that adorable her foster family and all the other big dogs (several German Shepherds are her mentors and big sisters) and many foster cats are present as well in the home.  Her boundless happy puppy energy catapults her through the days as she grows in to a true beauty inside and out.  She is so playful and loving and always ready for the next BIG ADVENTURE!  She loves to chase toys and explore the backyard for new things to do and maybe a few squirrels to make friends with.  She absorbs whatever you teach her like a sponge.  Her foster mom is an excellent trainer and knows the importance of teaching manners and commands.  Her friendly nature makes her easy to meet new people and she is does not shy away from new experiences either.  She is a snuggler when she is tired and very loving as she sits beside you to watch a good TV show.  This girl will be an excellent recall pup since she is learning that now and is so eager to please and be with her humans.  If you are interested in this beauty who will grow to be a 45-50 pound girl, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Let us know where you live: city and state when you are inquiring. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 2, 2025, 2:07 pm

Story
Hi, everyone. My name is Special Stella, and I am a beloved, fun, well-trained 5 year old Yellow Lab/Aussie mix girl that is only 50 pounds and who is looking for a new home without young children.  I have been with my young couple, mom and dad.For the past four years, and I have been very happy and loved. And during that time, it was discovered that young energetic children made me nervous.   Now my mom and dad are having a baby and they say it would be best if I went to a home with no young young children and yeah, would be best.If I was the only dog unless I lived with a submissive male, that would not challenge me to be the top dog.   I have lived with a cat and my only bad habit is I love cat food. I am housebroken and crate, trained and leash trained, and I know commands. And I am a very good girl. That will be your buddy, rick riding around town and your suv or a pickup truck or going out on the lake in the boat for the summer months.  I'm really a good girl, but I just have 2 things that I probably do. Don't meet in my life and that is a dominant dog around me and young children. That are you being what god made them to be,  young, energetic and loud and sometimes a little too quick to make movements that make me nervous.   We are all heartbroken that I have to find a new home. Critter Cavalry promised my Dad, who originally adopted me just to be his buddy before he got married, that they would help me find the perfect place for me to live out the next ten years or more of my life.   I promise to be the best companion you've ever had.   Please consider me to come and live with you and watch TV. At your feet or go for hikes. In the woods or just take naps in the afternoon on a lazy Winter day.  I am fully vetted and microchipped and come with great dog manners and very few bad habits. Unless you have a cat and I try to eat their food.  Please consider me and write to Critter.Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  Tell them where you live: city and state.   They are based in Tennessee and not only adoot to Tennessee, but also transport to the Northeast.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 27, 2025, 10:05 pm

Story
Our pretty girl is called Koya and she is about 10 months old and weighs 32 pounds and appears to be a  small Aussie mix girl with such a beautiful smile and soft luxurious coat of shiny black and tan and white fur.  This girl has not spent much of her early life with other dogs and is learning how to play with them and to respect boundaries of others.   She is wonderful in the foster home with the  young 6 year old active boy and she is accepting the cats in the home and showing them space and respect when she approaches them.  This girl is really a compact little beauty that will need a medium amount of exercise and a good and consistent training program will be the best for her as she gets older.  This little girl was found as a stray and taken to a small town shelter in Middle Tennessee. She was cowering in the corner of her kennel and one of the director of the shelter begged Critter Cavalry Rescue to try and find a foster to put her in to our foster program.  She is learning to find a calm state of mind and to find her wonderful smile again.  This girl is working on crate and house training.  She came to us on March 4th and so she is brand new to learning her best dog manners.  This girl is going to make someone a wonderful and loving jewel to raise and make her part of your family life.  She needs a consistent homelife and patient people to help her find her best groove in life.  If you are interested please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   We transport weekly out of state to the northeast and also adopt to Tennessee and surrounding southern areas.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 10, 2025, 1:49 pm

Story
Our litter of 6 puppies are named after royalty and we feel that they deserve a special life that is fit for a royal family.  This handsome soft and fuzzy boy is called Prince Louie and he is a Shepherd and Lab mix boy that is 20 lbs. and was born around December 1st 2024.  He lived outside in a small makeshift pen for the first 12 weeks of his life.  Critter Cavalry Rescue took in 6 pups who consisted of 2 female and 4 males.  All of them are sweet and friendly and going to be very easy going, fun puppies to raise to become smart adults.  Prince Louie is all boy his foster mom Jodi, says.  He is very people oriented which is amazing since he has not been in our care but since March 4th.  Louie is a puppy that loves to cuddle and be loved on. Recently at a Puppy Yoga class at the YMCA, he went from person to person greeting them with easy attention and occasionally kisses.  He is fearless and inquisitive and working on his crate training skills since he has never experienced a crate.   He is getting used to what outside potty breaks are all about and he is the softest boy with bunny rabbit feeling fur.  Prince Louie will be a 60+ boy when fully grown.  He is primarily a shiny black with the right accents of white on his chest and his toes. He is very active and playful and like most boy puppies, he runs and plays HARD.  Housetraining is in progress.  He is a fun puppy that plays well with other dogs and loves everyone he meets. He tries to show dominance a lot with the female sister and the foster mom’s female adult dog.  He is flexing his muscles.  He will probably be the leader of the pack in a new home if there are other dogs.  It will be important to keep this boy socialized with other dogs as he grows up and to teach him not to have everything his way.  Always important with confident dogs who love to control things.  Funny story…At yoga he picked up someone’s keys attached to their wallet and took off running through the crowd. He has some mischief in his soul.  Made everyone laugh.    If you are interested in this boy please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 12, 2025, 9:47 pm

Meet Bleu! Bleu is a very sweet and wild girl who takes some time getting use to you, but once she does she will be your built in bestie. Bleu loves to play with her canine roommate but will ask to meet any canines currently residing in the home. Bleu does have some stranger danger and may take a couple visits to warm up to you as it took her some time to get warmed up to us here in the kennel, and we will ask that everyone living in the household come in to visit prior to her going home. Bleu also asks any children in the home be 6 and older as she will need some time to acclimate in the home small children may not be the best thing for her. Lasty, her adoption fee has been partially covered, so only $250 remains! If you would like to meet this lovey lady, please speak to a kennel technician today.

Story
Meet Augusto! This lanky guy came to us from a local shelter, and we don`t have any history on him other than that he was picked up as a stray. Augusto isn`t letting his past hold him back though, he`s as happy as can be and ready for his new home! Augusto very much still acts like a puppy, so he will need help with things like manners and potty training. Augusto can be pretty wild and excitable, so we definitely recommend that he go to a very active home! He`s also quite the jumper and can be pretty rough, so we will require any kids in the home are at least 10 years or older. We aren`t sure how he does with other dogs, so if you already have a dog in the home, they will need to meet Augusto prior to adoption. If you`re interested in taking this lovable wild child home, please ask a kennel technician for assistance!

Story
In Norfolk - Meet Saint! This 2 year old, blue-eyed, handsome boy found himself in a Louisiana shelter after being seized from a cruelty case in November 2023. Set to be euthanized, ASF rescued him in his final hour! ASF also learned that poor Saint had heartworms and had to be treated for several months, which consisted of restricted activity and crate rest. He is a solid, healthy & happy boy despite having a very rough start to life. Saint likes to play fetch and chase, but he's more on the medium energy level. He is leash reactive with dogs and squirrels and pulls on the leash (and he's strong!), but we're working on that daily. He's had several foster siblings, so he'd love a home with another dog for company. He is crate trained, but doesn't need it or like it. He isn't destructive or naughty when left free in the house. He will sleep in a dog bed or next to your bed at night. He doesn't guard his food or humans and shows zero signs of aggression. He loves to be right next to (touching) his people, on the sofa or in the bed. He is very affectionate and is quickly comfortable with people. He's actually a warm, snuggle machine. Saint's foster family is working on car rides because he gets very anxious, whining and barking for the first 10 minutes or so in the car. He has an Rx for anxiety if he's going to be in the car for a longer drive or around a lot of people. He's obedient, intelligent, and eager to please. He learned how to use the doggie door in about 30 minutes and will come inside from a knock on the window or a whistle. He gets a bath, nails trimmed, and teeth brushed without issues! He knows several commands like "sit", "wait", and "down." We're also working on better front door etiquette. He has a deep, intimidating bark for such a sweet boy. Older kids would probably be best for him because he doesn't realize his own strength. His prey drive is pretty strong, so no cats or small animals. Saint can jump chain link fences. Modifications will need to be made if his new family has this type of fence. Saint is looking for a loving and patient home to provide a new life full of love and cuddles. Saint is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. He's being fostered in Norfolk, Virginia. If Saint sounds perfect for your family, please fill out the application. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.
