Story
Sweet-boy Gus has been waiting far. too. long. for his forever family to find him! And quite honestly, we don’t understand why…this boy is as good as it gets! Gus (male) is one of mama Charlotte’s litter; he was was born on 8/5/23, so is now just under 8 months old. The siblings’ vet papers list them as heeler/boxer mixes, but mama Charlotte is brindle (we’ll post her photo in the comments) and most definitely could have some pittie mixed in as well. Really, your guess is as good as ours! ‍ We just know that Gus is cuter than all get out…and has the most loving personality to match! Gus currently weighs-in at 40-45lbs, and likely could end up @ 55-60(ish)lbs when fully grown. Some of his favorite things include: playing outside, romping around with his 4-legged friends, playing with toys and sticks, and CUDDLING! He love, love, lovessss to snuggle his humans! His sweetness is apparent as soon as you meet him, and he gets along with everyone…other dogs (of all ages/sizes), cats, and kids included! He’d make the most perfect family dog. And he’d especially adore his forever home having another pup-mate for him to play with! Gus is — for the most part (some transition time to be expected, of course) — potty-trained; he does quite perfectly when provided a solid schedule. He is crate-trained and does just fine in his kennel. He truly is amazing! And you could make this amazing boy all yours! If you’d like to make him the newest member of your family, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Gus! APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!)  **Gus’ $250 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines to date, and microchip. ##1850594##

Story
Introducing: Jack!  This sweet boy joined the New Leash family with his 4 siblings this past week, and is estimated right around 6 months old. Jack and his siblings were rescued by a kind soul from an Amish farm…where they were not in a good living situation. They were all quite scared, but have quickly settled into their foster homes and begun living the lives they always deserved to live — full of love, warmth, and spoils! Jack is a blue heeler mix of sorts; he currently weighs-in @ 35lbs, so could be right around 60(ish)lbs when fully grown. **Jack's $250 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines to date, and microchip. ##2001439##

Story
This sweet little lady is Elowyn! She joined the New Leash family mid-March with her four brothers, and is estimated at right around 6 months old. Elowyn and her siblings were rescued by a kind soul from an Amish farm…where their fate was unfortunately not a good one. They were all quite scared upon arrival, but have quickly settled into their foster homes and started living the lives they’ve always deserved to live. Elowyn is a blue heeler mix of sorts, and weighs-in right around 35lbs. Therefore she could be approximately 50-60lbs when fully grown. Her foster family says that she is an incredibly smart girl who picks up on things quickly — routine, training, schedules, etc. Elowyn can be a bit timid/shy upon first meet with humans, but continues to come out of her shell…showing her fun-loving and playful personality! She gets little bursts of puppy energy, which is the cutest thing. She loves to be around her person/people, and will be your constant shadow + companion. Elowyn does well on-leash and so far has been a rockstar with potty-training (especially coming from an outdoor living situation); after a small transition time, she’s had no accidents in the house! She will sleep all night in her crate as long as it’s in the bedroom with her people. If she’s in an alternative room, she will protest with some howls. Because she can be slightly shy/reserved, we would recommend a home with kids ages 8(ish)+. Elowyn is cat-friendly and also does well with other dogs (of all ages/sizes)! She’d love a forever family to call her own, so if she sounds like the right fit for you…please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Elowyn! Story
Say yes to Harley, this fellow is a 5 year old male cattle dog. This guy craves attention and loves seeing what is happening around him. Harley does great with other dogs and is very playful and loves playing catch with tennis balls. he is very attention motivated however does find ways to keep himself busy if left alone. We think Harley would do great with kids of any age. We are unsure how Harley would do with cats in the home as we don't know if he's lived with any before. ***If you are interested in adopting please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Atlas a spunky young heeler mix was found hanging out at the local motel, we believe he may have followed his Amish owners into town and became lost. He is a sweet little guy who is looking for a job to do! He would do well with an active family who will take him on lots of walks/hikes to keep his mind and body happy! Atlas has done well with his playmate Clementine but we recommend slow meet and greets with any potential household pets.“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy’s team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle me into your home. Story
Clementine is a sweet young heeler who came in as a stray. She is very loving and wants to be wherever you are. Clementine seems nervous of cats here at the shelter, but slow greets should be done for everyone's safety. She seems to have lived outside, and that's where she prefers to be, Clementine would make an excellent hiking partner, or on a farm with a job to do! She enjoys playing with her buddy Atlas and rolling around in the grass! “I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. It’s in the dogs/puppies best interest to be placed into their furever homes in a timely fashion. All household members must attend the meet and greet. Hi, I’m Pickles. My story is a sad one. I was found at only a few days old with my siblings, next to my deceased Mom. Some kind families took us all in and bottled fed us till we were old enough to make the trip to WI to start looking for our forever families. We are some kind of Heeler mixes, with me looking more like the milk man, rather than my siblings who all look like heeler puppies. Plus, I’m much larger than my sisters! We are all kind and very inquisitive about our new surroundings. Our perfect home would be one that’s active and can keep us busy with lots of walks/hikes, hopefully another dog to play with and in a perfect world a nice fenced in yard (but not a must have). I am super smart and food motivated which has helped me master sit and I almost have down! I love to follow you all around-especially if you have a little snack for me 😉 and am a little more cuddly than my sister, Peaches. There are chickens and goats also at my foster home, I love to try to play with them- which they aren't always a fan of but my foster mom has been working on keeping a treat along to distract me, along with a lot of "leave it". So, if you have room in your heart for some puppy love look no further, I’m all that you need

Story
What more could a pup want for his 1st BIRTHDAY (which is today!) than for his forever family to find him?! Some of you may remember Hud. This handsome boy is back with us again (due to no fault of his own!) and finds himself in-search of a new forever family. Hud’s story began back in May of 2023, when he + his siblings joined us @ 8 weeks old from an Amish farm where their fate was certainly not a good one. Hud was adopted shortly after, however was in a situation where his adopters had very minimal time to give him the attention/training/time he was in-need of. Therefore he does need some re-work on basic manners…but he’s a smart dude who catches on quickly, and he responds well to direction! Hud is said to be a hanging tree/kelpie mix of sorts, but could definitely have some other mystery breeds mixed in. He weighs-in at just 26lbs, so won’t get much bigger/will stay smaller size-wise! Hud is fully potty-trained, kennel-trained, and loves all people (kids too! ). He can be a bit timid when meeting new pup friends; he is definitely a follower — not a confident leader — with other dogs. But once he settles in and learns about other dogs’ personalities + routine, he does very well! When it comes to kitties, Hud will chase them…but responds to correction, so could definitely live in a home with dog-savvy cats. He’s working on not jumping, so a family with younger children would need to be diligent in continuing his training. But with some yummy treats, he is so eager to learn! He also loves toys and is pretty much your typical, playful, happy-go-lucky one year old pupper. He would love a family to choose him…this time forever! If he sounds like the perfect addition for you, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Hud! APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!)  **Hud’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##1998912##
