Story
"Meet Artie! This adorable, scruffy, Border Terrier/Chihuahua mix (best guess!) is about 4 years old and easily recognized by his charming white Mohawk. Artie is a calm, easygoing companion who loves nothing more than a cozy nap or soaking up a sunny spot on the floor. He’ll happily follow his foster mom around the house, always staying nearby, but he’s just as content to lounge in a patch of sunshine. Artie walks nicely on leash, sleeps peacefully in his crate, and is potty trained — making him a wonderfully low-maintenance housemate. While he is dog-friendly, he hasn’t shown much interest in play and would be perfectly happy as an only dog. A bit shy at first, Artie needs a quiet, patient home where he can take his time warming up and building trust. Once he feels safe, he’s a loyal, sweet, and steady little companion who will bring a lot of calm and comfort to the right person. We feel an adult only home is ideal for him." Artie is being fostered in Westminster, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/artie/. Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Bkjk9eSEHJo Benny and Jerry are brothers who absolutely adore each other so I want them to stay together. They do not display any signs of 'sibling syndrome' which is an unhealthy fixation on each other. Yes they love doing things together but they also play with other independently all the time and cuddle with others and want my attention independently. They do not get anxious if the other one is not around. So they have a healthy bond but are also independent. They are about 6 months old and appear to be Norwich terrier mixes. They have been around dogs of all sizes as well as cats and do great with everyone. They love cuddles but they are not lap dogs. They are active dogs as Norwich terriers are. They love exploring the woods and play by the pond and getting muddy. So they will need daily play time and exercise. But the good thing is that they keep themselves busy and exercised with each other. They are very entertaining and funny and will bring lots of joy to your home. They are currently still in Oklahoma where they were rescued but they can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. They have to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take them in or they will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $1200 (includes the $500 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above for both dogs) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95
