Story
This inquisitive boy with the beautiful black scruffy face and Lab-style body is ready to steal someone’s heart.  Ben is just 9 months old, weighs about 35 pounds, and will likely mature into a perfect 45–50 pound adult — the ideal “not too big, not too small” size for just about any home. Ben and his sister Jerri (yes… Ben & Jerri ) were recently rescued from a rural shelter in Tennessee after being removed from a severely neglected situation where too many animals and too little food were the norm. What’s remarkable is that you would never know it. There is no fearfulness, no shutdown behavior, no emotional baggage — just a happy, bright, affectionate boy puppy who is thrilled to finally be noticed. Ben absolutely craves personal attention, and when you give it to him, he is so very happy and giddy almost. He is eager to please, highly food motivated, and going to be a dream to train. He’s already walking nicely on leash despite having almost no prior experience, which speaks volumes about her intelligence and willingness to learn. He’s playful, affectionate, and soaking up structure and routine like a sponge.   His look is unforgettable.  He has that wiry, scruffy coat you can’t stop petting, with adorable chin whiskers that give him a touch of Irish Wolfhound charm. When the sun hits his sleek black coat, it shines beautifully. He’s the kind of dog people stop and ask about. Ben is working on crate training and is mostly housebroken with only the occasional puppy mishap — all part of adjusting to a new life filled with stability and love. His future is incredibly bright. All he needs now is someone to choose him.  What does he promise in return? Loyalty. Gratitude. A whole-hearted kind of love that only a rescued dog can give. If you’re ready to give Ben the forever home he deserves, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Be sure to tell us where you live when inquiring. We adopt to Tennessee residents and also transport to the northeastern corridor of states.  Ben is ready and waiting..   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 28, 2026, 11:20 pm

Story
If you’ve been searching for a dog with the soul of a retired philosopher and the face of a scruffy angel, Jimmy is your guy! He’s mastered the art of being cool, calm, and collected while still being 100% adorable. While other dogs are busy chasing their tails, Jimmy is busy figuring out the best way to lean against your leg for maximum petting efficiency. He’s got that fun sized spark that makes every day feel like a Saturday morning. Wait! Before you read another word, you have to see him in action. Watch his adoption video ! https://youtu.be/0rs0qmKYDoI Jimmy is what we like to call a velcro lite dog; he wants to be where you are, but he’s perfectly content just being your silent partner in crime. Whether you’re working from home or catching up on your favorite show, Jimmy is right there, happy to be your personal foot warmer. He’s not a high octane athlete, he's more of a "nap enthusiast" who thinks a casual stroll to the mailbox is a grand adventure. We suspect Jimmy is a Border Terrier mix, sporting a dashing white and tan coat that is as soft as it is scruffy. Currently, he is a teeny 10lbs, making him the ultimate takeanywhere companion! He’s still a growing puppy, so while he’ll get a bit bigger, he’s always going to be that perfect portable size that fits right under your arm or riding shotgun in the car. Of course, since he’s a rescue, his DNA is a bit of a delicious secret, but we’re 100% sure he’s 0% wolf and 100% wonderful. Jimmy is the ultimate versatile roommate! Because of his relaxed nature, he could be a star in an apartment or just as happy in a house with a yard. His favorite hobby? Following you around like a little fluffy ghost until you realize he’s there and give him a belly rub. He has a way of looking at you with those soulful eyes that makes you forget all your stress. In short, Jimmy is a small package of pure joy with a heart as big as him. He’s ready to find a forever lap to call his own and a human to be a shadow for. Story
Looking for a permanent dose of vitamin D-O-G and a sidekick who thinks you’re the center of the universe? Meet the fluffiest, silliest little heart-stealer who is ready to turn your daily routine into a full-blown comedy special! If you’ve been searching for a companion who brings the party to every room, look no further. This pup is the definition of a good time think wagging tails, goofy zoomies, and enough personality to fill a stadium! He’s got that infectious, happy go lucky energy that makes even a rainy Monday feel like a trip to the beach. He is basically a walking sunshine maker with four paws and a wet nose. Wait! Before you fall too deep in love with these words, you have to see him in action and witness the cuteness overload for yourself! https://youtu.be/0rs0qmKYDoI This guy isn’t just a dog; he’s your new shadow! Whether you’re folding laundry or finally finishing that book, he’s right there, happily lounging by your feet or leaning against your leg for a quick ear scruff. He’s the ultimate velcro dog who just wants to be part of the crew. If there was a map for Best Places to Nap Near My Human, he’d have the whole thing memorized! He’s perfectly content just being where you are, making him the world's best co pilot. Currently weighing in at a manageable 13 lbs, he’s a compact little bundle of joy. Since he’s still a growing puppy, he’s got some filling out to do, but he’ll likely stay that perfect manageable size. We think he might be a delightful border terrier mix, but as with all rescue gems, his true heritage is a mystery. What we do know is that he’s 100% purebred "Good Boy." When it comes to other dogs, this silly puppy is a fan favorite! He has a playful, bouncy energy that would pair perfectly with another dog who enjoys a good game of tag or a gentle wrestle. He’d thrive with a furry sibling who can match his let’s play! vibe, but he’s also respectful enough to know when it’s time to settle down for a group nap. What about the resident house lions? Our boy is curious and friendly! He seems to think cats are just small, slightly grumpier dogs who haven't realized how fun he is yet. While he’s shown great potential, every cat is different, so he might need a supervised "pajama party" sleepover with a kitty to make sure they’re going to be the best of friends. The ideal spot for this fluffy guy? He’s pretty adaptable! Whether you have a big fenced in yard for him to explore or a cozy apartment with plenty of walks on the schedule, he’s just happy to be included. One thing is for sure: he needs a home that appreciates his silly antics like the way he tilts his head when you talk or his happy dance when the leash comes out. He’s truly a lifestyle dog who fits in wherever love is served. This is a one of a kind pup who turns every ordinary moment into a wagging, wonderful celebration of being together. He’s a soft, silly, and incredibly fluffy companion who is just waiting for the right person to come and claim their new best friend. Don’t let this much cuteness slip through your fingers click the link below to get your application in before someone else snags this silly superstar! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/698f92e965b5b697eb06d217 Questions? You haven’t seen true cuteness until you’ve watched his debut film—check out his adoption video below and prepare to melt! https://youtu.be/0rs0qmKYDoI This little guy is the ultimate velcro dog in the best way possible. He doesn't just want to be in the same room as you; he wants to be your tiny shadow, following you from the kitchen to the couch with total devotion. He’s the perfect hang out dog who is just as happy being your co pilot on a grocery run as he is snoozing by your feet while you work. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who truly treasures your presence, Tiny Tim’s your guy! While we think he’s a dapper Border Terrier mix, being a rescue means his true heritage is a delightful mystery! At a petite 6 lbs, he is incredibly small and compact, the perfect travel size for any adventure. He fits perfectly in a tote bag or a car seat, making him the ultimate plus one for patio brunches or weekend getaways. He might be small, but he has a heart that's bigger than any Great Dane! Currently thriving in his foster home, this little sprout is a total social butterfly. He’s been learning the ropes of domestic life and is proving to be a stellar student! He’s been a champ with the children and handles his crate like a pro when it’s time for a nap. Plus, if you say the word ride, he’s already waiting by the door. He absolutely loves feeling the wind in his scruffy ears during car trips! When it comes to other pups, he’s a playful delight! He loves a good game of chase and would do wonderfully in a home with another dog who matches his medium to high fun energy. He’s all about those canine connections and would love a brother or sister to show him the ropes though he is such a lover that he can also thrive as your one and only! What about the feline residents? Well, he seems to think cats are just interesting, pointy eared friends! He is very curious. He’d love to have a supervised sleepover with a kitty to make sure they’re the perfect match. He’s definitely willing to work for a feline’s affection! Because of his small stature and adaptable nature, he’s a best of both worlds kind of dog. He’d be a superstar in an apartment and would love to go on walks, but he certainly wouldn’t turn down a fenced in yard for his zoomies! The cutest thing about him? He has a habit of tilting his head at every word you say, as if he’s hanging on your every syllable. In short, this scruffy wonder is a mix of snuggles, zoomies, and silly antics. He’s ready to bring a whole lot of sunshine into a very lucky home! Tommy is a certified goober with enough personality to fill an entire stadium. He is the ultimate shadow dog if you’re heading to the kitchen, he’s your sous chef if you’re hitting the couch, he’s your professional snuggler. This little guy doesn't just want to be in the room; he wants to be exactly where you are, making him the perfect companion for anyone who never wants to feel lonely again. Wait until you see his zoomies! Check them out in his adoption video. https://youtu.be/0rs0qmKYDoI We suspect Tommy is a Border Terrier mix, weighing in at a perfectly portable 11 lbs. He is the definition of compact and ready to go, easy to scoop up for errands, yet sturdy enough for a fun walk in the park. While he looks like a distinguished gentleman in his photos, remember that with any rescue, his breed mix is our best educated guess, but his cuteness is 100% guaranteed! Tommy has been thriving in his foster home, proving himself to be a social butterfly who is curious about the world around him. He is a total fan of tiny humans and is wonderfully kid friendly, making him a great addition to a family with children. He’s been practicing his house manners and is becoming quite the pro at crate training, often settling down for a nap without a peep. He’s also a fantastic travel buddy who settles right in for car rides, gazing out the window at all the adventures to come. When it comes to other pups, Tommy is a total team player! He enjoys the company of other dogs and would do great in a home with a fur sibling who matches his medium to high energy. He loves a good wrestling match or a game of tag, so a playful companion would be his dream come true. He is also perfectly content being the center of your universe. Whether he has a pack to lead or is the king of his castle, Tommy can absolutely thrive as your one and only! What about the resident house lions? Our boy is curious and friendly! His only real requirement is a family that appreciates his silly antics and his desire to be your tiny, furry shadow. Tommy is a one of a kind pup who brings a little extra sunshine and a lot of character to every room he enters. He’s smart, soulful, and ready to find the person he can shadow for the rest of his life.
