You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Meet Frankie! ❤️ Frankie is looking for his forever home!! Frankie is a sweet, happy, energetic boy who is always eager to please! He loves going for walks and is working hard on his leash manners. He still pulls a little, but he’s getting better every day! ‍ He also loves chasing balls, playing with soft squeaky toys, and, of course, getting a good head scratch. Treats have been limited while he recovers from his recent dental, but he absolutely LOVES peanut butter on a lick mat! Frankie is friendly, outgoing, and happiest when he is with his people. He does get fearful when left alone, so he would love a family who can be home with him a lot and give him the companionship he craves. He is currently working on crate training and is very food-motivated, which should make training him a lot of fun and fairly easy! And Frankie has a little bit of a mischievous side… He is just tall enough to stand on his hind legs and sneak a sandwich right off the countertop if given the opportunity! So, keeping those sandwiches safely out of reach is definitely going to be important. Frankie is such a good boy with so much love to give. ❤️ He’s ready to find his people and start the next chapter of his life! Who’s ready to make Frankie part of the family? ❤️ Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Story
Meet Jewel, a sweet older girl with the most beautiful eyes and an even sweeter heart. Jewel is a quiet, gentle lap dog who would happily spend all day curled up on her person’s lap or tucked beneath a cozy blanket. When her people come home, she gets incredibly excited, jumping right into their laps and giving kisses if invited. She loves her people deeply, follows them from room to room, and has formed strong bonds with both adults in her foster home. She’s easy to love and has all the makings of a wonderful companion for someone who is home often. Jewel arrived very timid and meek, and although she has gained confidence with time, she can still be easily frightened. She feels safest when her people are nearby and prefers a calm, peaceful environment. She enjoys short strolls with her humans, although she is still learning leash manners and may cross in front of you or wind around your feet. She doesn’t pull much, though! Jewel is house-trained, uses a pet door, comes when called, and sleeps comfortably in her kennel. She may bark when visitors first arrive, but she settles down quickly and is happy to welcome everyone. Jewel is a picky eater who prefers soft food, especially beef, and likes having her people close while she eats. She has an adorable habit of rooting around before meals and will even check the vehicles outside if her favorite person leaves, just in case she might be there. Jewel has been around dogs, cats, and children and does okay with them, but she would truly prefer to be the only pet and have all the attention to herself. She isn’t much of a player these days—she’s much more interested in short walks, long naps, cozy blankets, and being close to her person. Jewel will thrive in a quiet, loving home where she can feel safe, cherished, and included in everyday life. For someone looking for a devoted little shadow and a constant cuddle companion, Jewel may be the perfect match. ---- *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* ---- Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your Senior dog in top shape.

Ridiculously cute is the best way to describe Scrappy! This sweet girl is friendly, easygoing, and ready to find a family who understands that she deserves to be spoiled rotten. Scrappy gets along with everyone and is just an all-around lovely companion. She’s potty trained, quiet, and has basic training, making her a wonderful addition to a home looking for a sweet, well-rounded dog. And if you're looking for a lap dog, Scrappy would like to formally submit her application. She loves curling up with her people, getting belly rubs, and being as cozy as possible. In fact, Scrappy fully expects her forever home to come equipped with dog beds, soft blankets, and plenty of opportunities to be pampered. And honestly? We think she deserves it. Scrappy enjoys play time with toys and is comfortable going into a crate. She isn't quite sure what to make of leash walking yet, so that's one skill her adopter can continue working on with her. With patience and positive reinforcement, she'll get there! Scrappy is currently working through some itchy skin, so her new family will need to continue supporting her skin health with an appropriate diet and good hygiene. She's worth the extra care, and we're confident her future family will be happy to help her feel her very best. If you're looking for a sweet, quiet, friendly little companion who loves cuddles, belly rubs, toys, and the finer things in life, apply to meet Scrappy today. Just be prepared: once Scrappy moves in, your lap, your blankets, and your dog beds may no longer belong to you. Scrappy is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 9/26/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.

Est. Date of Birth: 04/11//2023 Weight 24 lbs. Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Does not need! Dog friendly: Yes- Prefers male dogs Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, Older/Considerate kids would be best Adoption Fee: $495.00 REQUIRED: Companion dog & physical fenced yard Meet Missy! 🐾 Missy is a terrier through and through—smart, spunky, playful, and absolutely convinced she has a few very important jobs to do. Her favorite things include going for walks, exploring new places, sniffing absolutely everything, and investigating the world one smell at a time. If you’re an active family looking for an adventure buddy, Missy is already packing her bags. When she’s not out exploring, Missy loves playing with toys, snuggling with her people, and keeping a close eye on neighborhood activity from the nearest window. She’s basically a tiny neighborhood watch captain. And if squirrels dare enter her jurisdiction? Don’t worry—Missy will personally inform them who is in charge. Speaking of being in charge… Missy occasionally believes she may have been elected Mayor of the Household. She does best with people who can kindly remind her that while her opinions are appreciated, she is not actually responsible for running the family. Although a home with older/considerate kids will be best for Missy, she is wonderful with children and has done amazing with kids of all ages. She’s also great with cats and is dog-savvy enough to live happily with dogs of any size—or be your one-and-only pup. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and does well in homes with shared walls. If you’re looking for a dog who can keep up on adventures, make you laugh every day, snuggle up at night, and provide complimentary squirrel security services, Missy might just be your perfect match. Benefits of adopting Missy may include: daily laughs, unlimited snuggles, increased neighborhood awareness, and a dramatic reduction in squirrel confidence.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Sailor is a Cairn Terrier/Chinese Crested mix who is equal parts fun, playful, smart, and cuddly! This moderately high-energy girl loves just about everything life has to offer—toys, bones, treats, food, people, and especially being part of the pack. Sailor can be a little cautious when she encounters something new, but once she realizes she’s safe, she doesn’t take long to warm up to her people. She is looking for a confident, playful canine companion who can show her the ropes and give her some good cues to follow. Having another dog in the home will help Sailor continue building her confidence, learning her manners, and adapting more quickly to new surroundings. This girl has plenty of energy, so an active family who can give her plenty of opportunities to run, play, learn, and explore will be important. She loves a good game of fetch and having a canine buddy to engage in zoomies with. A securely fenced yard is a must for Sailor, as she is a bit of an escape artist and absolutely loves to run! She has discovered that an open door can be an invitation to adventure, so her family will need to be extra careful about securing doorways before opening them. In true Terrier fashion, Sailor can be a little vocal, especially when responding to another vocal dog or something interesting outside. However, she is also extremely smart and food motivated, which has made training fun and rewarding. She is eager to learn, and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement, training, and consistency in her forever home. She also loves car rides! Sailor is crate trained and is very close to being fully potty trained, especially when she is kept on a consistent routine. She is great with kids who respect boundaries and loves being involved in whatever her people are doing. When the zoomies are over? She turns into the sweetest cuddle bug. She loves snuggling with her humans and soaking up the sunshine in a cozy spot. Sailor is still learning that the world is a safe place and that good manners pay off, so patience, consistency, and continued guidance will be important for her. Give her the right outlet for all that energy, a confident canine friend to learn from, and a family willing to keep working with her, and you’ll have a smart, playful little companion who is always ready for the next adventure—and then happy to curl up beside you when the day is done. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Story
Welcome Bitsy to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 5-pound small Terrier/Cairn mixed pup. Her mom is Monica. She was on the street as a stray. We took her in to find out she was pregnant. The puppies were born in our Rescue. They have gotten lots of interaction. They are very social and friendly. Bitsy is one of the smaller pups in the litter. She is full of personality and very good with her litter group. She goes on a wee pad and is good in a crate. She likes all people and is not shy around strangers. Her mom is 15 pounds. We do think Bitsy will be 15 pounds or less full grown. She is not a big shedder. She will make some lucky family a good pet. Anyone who adopts a puppy should not work all day everyday because a puppy needs to be with their family and not home alone all day. She needs to finish up her puppy training. She will be a great dog for a social person wanting a matching puppy personality. She would be fine in a smaller condo size yard. She would be fine with other dogs. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is getting spayed, vaccinated and she will be ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also use one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See her cute video

The puppies were born in our Rescue. They have gotten lots of interaction. They are very social and friendly. Hannah is the most fluffy puppy in the rescue and she has slightly longer legs. This will make her a nice walking companion. Her coat is soft and thick. She is a fun pup to pet because of her coat. She is full of personality and very good with her litter group. She goes on a wee pad and is good in a crate. She likes all people and is not shy around strangers. Her mom is 15 pounds. We do think Hannah will be 15 pounds or less full grown. She is not a big shedder. She will make some lucky family a good pet. Anyone who adopts a puppy should not work all day every day because a puppy needs to be with their family and not home alone all day.
