Story
Ever met a pup that can tap dance his way into your heart? Come meet me, and Ill show you just how that works. Hi, Im Aster, and Im a dashingly handsome young boy who is in the market for a new place to hang my hat. My previous owners had to return me to Great Plains, and Ill tell you more about why that happened in just a minute.

First, I wanna share some important things about my personality that you are gonna love. Im friendly, curious, super goofy, smart, and I have a very enthusiastic zest for life. I tap dance with my paws when Im excited, and its simply beyond cute. I know sit, stay, speak, shake, high five, and spin, so I think that makes me a very talented cookie. Since Im treat motivated, I had an easy time learning those tricks, and my brain is up for more! Im always interested in solving food puzzles, Kongs with a treat or two always makes me smile, chew bones are da bomb, I love to shred soft toys (supervised of course), and sniff walks really stimulate my brain. You will hum the song Me and My Shadow all day long with me around, because if you are home and Im there, too, well, I like to keep an eye on what you are doing.

One of my favorite things to do is go for walks. Ive been told I have great leash manners, and I enjoy exploring the world at a nice, easy pace. Heck, I even like to take a toy in my mouth when we hit the sidewalk - you just never know when youll need a toy! I am also a fan of running donuts in large yards. While car rides arent exactly my favorite activity, but if I have a whole back seat to stretch out on and maybe a pup cup waiting at the drive-thru, I can definitely get on board with the adventure.

My previous owners say Im crate trained, potty trained, and I am a wonderful and loyal companion. I get along well with other dogs. Im an athletic guy, so I like to chase and wrestle and have a rowdy good time with my pals! I would be thrilled to meet any canine friends you may already have to make sure that my play style matches that of your pup.

When we first meet at the shelter, I might seem a little shy. Give me a couple extra minutes to warm up, and then we will become fast friends. I can get nervous and tuck my tail or duck when introduced to something new or scary (like a loud car or people on bikes). But I get over that quickly. Visitors dont really scare me, though. If someone comes to the house, Im excited to meet them! Ill circle around wagging my tail excitedly. Did you come for me? Did you bring me something? Joy!

I know, I know. You wanna know why I had to come back here. Well, I had a really hard time curbing my enthusiasm around the many cats in the home. They were super fun, and I thought they were there for me to chase and paw at. Yes, I was told not to. But frankly, I think dogs were made to chase cats. That interest in cats forced me into a kennel when the humans were gone, so in all honesty, it is probably for the best that Im here and seeking a new home that is cat free.

One more little note. I love salmon and rice, bacon flavored treats, and milk bones. If I dont get to do exactly as I please, I sometimes might pout a little. Actually, my pout consists of sticking out my lower lip, and my humans always just laughed at me. So it didnt really make much of a difference.

Are you looking for a handsome, smart and loving pup who enjoys adventures, playtime, and being part of the family? Please come for me.

Love from Aster
