Adopt-a-pet Inquires are not an application and will be ignored. Looking for a Foster or Adopter Damon’s Day Out Meet Damon! A 15-month-old, 22 lb border terrier mix who’s spent almost his whole life in rescue. He’s dog-friendly (happy to keep up with any play style or size), kid-approved, and absolutely fetch-obsessed. He has not been cat tested yet. Damon is ready to show you why he deserves a family of his own. Recently, Damon went on a volunteer field trip, and here’s how it went… Damon was stoked to be riding shotgun like a true passenger prince. When we arrived, he waited politely before hopping out, then pranced down the street at my side, bouncing along like the happiest parade marshal you’ve ever seen. Next stop? Fetch. Damon’s favorite thing in the world. His whole body lit up with joy. He scurried after the ball, skidded into the fence, then came charging back to drop it right at my feet, eager to go again, and again, and again… He even played fetch with my 4-year-old, gentle and patient every time. Damon could truly go all day if you let him! After fetch, we wandered through town. Damon acted like the mayor, greeting everyone we passed. One person even pulled over their car just to meet him! He stopped to pose with flowers outside shopfronts like a natural-born model, soaking up the attention. Finally, we hit Starbucks, where Damon waited patiently for his order. The barista handed over a pup cup, and his day had been officially made! This is Damon! Goofy, sweet, and ready for a forever family. After spending almost his entire life in rescue, he deserves to celebrate his next anniversary at home. Maybe with you? Meet Lisa, a 7-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with a scruffy beige-and-white coat and an expressive little face that tells you exactly how she’s feeling. At just over 21 pounds, she’s a perfectly portable small dog with a big personality.Lisa came to us after struggling with housebreaking for several years. After a full medical workup, our veterinary team discovered and surgically removed multiple bladder stones caused by a long-standing urinary tract infection. She has recovered well from surgery, her follow-up culture was negative, and she’s feeling much more comfortable. Going forward, she’ll benefit from regular bathroom breaks, plenty of fresh water, and periodic urine checks with her future veterinarian.Because house soiling was part of her history for several years, Lisa will need a patient, understanding adopter committed to positive reinforcement and consistency. Setting her up with a predictable routine, close supervision, and possibly a small, easy-to-clean confinement area when unsupervised will help her succeed.Personality-wise, Lisa is a sensitive, thoughtful girl who appreciates when people move at her pace. When meeting new friends, she may show a little stress at first, but once she feels comfortable, she seeks out scritches, leans in sweetly, and even offers her belly. She enjoys exploring rooms at her own speed, sniffing enrichment toys like snuffle mats and puzzle feeders, and taking leisurely walks (she prefers to stop and smell the roses rather than power-walk the block).Lisa would likely do best with older, dog-savvy children who understand canine body language and “consent to pet.” She previously lived with other pets but may prefer a calmer environment now; if there’s a resident dog in the home, a dog meet will be required to ensure a good match.This wiry-haired sweetheart is looking for a calm, compassionate home that will advocate for her, respect her signals, and celebrate her small victories.
