You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Moe! Moe is a beautiful little white Maltipoo with a gentle spirit and a heart ready to bond with the right family. Born around March 11, 2025, this sweet boy weighs 10.8 pounds, making him the perfect size for lap snuggles and companionship. Moe came from a hoarding situation where he was one of 29 dogs, so the big world can feel a little overwhelming at first. Because of this, he may take a few minutes to warm up to new people. But once you approach him calmly and give him a few gentle pets, you can almost see the moment he relaxes—then he quickly becomes your loyal little friend. He gets along great with other dogs and truly enjoys their company. He will need to go to a home with another companion dog to help him feel comfortable and confident. Moe’s best friend here is Mitchell, and they would love to be adopted together. With a patient and loving family who will give him time to settle in, he will blossom into a devoted and affectionate companion. Moe is still learning some of the basics, including walking on a leash, but with consistency and kindness he will catch on quickly. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there... I'm Dixie. I'm quite literally the best girl, according to the staff and volunteers here at the rescue. About me: I LOVE the water—I could swim all day! I'm fully potty and house trained, and I'll even let you know when I need to go outside by crying at the door. I walk nicely on a leash and absolutely love playing fetch (at least until my age catches up with me!). I get along wonderfully with other dogs, know my name, and have excellent recall. Here at the rescue, I even enjoy off-leash walks because I stay close and always come back when I'm called. I am a quiet, gentle soul looking for a forever home to call my own. While I may be a little older, I still enjoy playing with my toys and spending time with other dogs when the mood strikes. My journey here has been quite the adventure. During a big storm, the local fire department found me in the water and brought me to the rescue. They later realized they had actually been trying to catch me for months, believing I was a stray. But it turns out I wasn't always on my own. I once had a loving owner, but after he passed away, I was given away because his mother was no longer able to care for me due to her own health challenges. I'm already spayed, fully vaccinated, 4DX tested (positive for heartworm), and up to date on my ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. I am heartworm positive right now, but I’ve already started treatment. I’ve been on antibiotics and am going through the ProHeart 12 protocol approved by the American Heartworm Society. The good news is that with this treatment, I should test negative in about 8–10 months. My adoption fee is $250, and you can apply to adopt me at www.adoggie4you.org. I'm currently in Texas, but I can travel to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Meet Nelson 🐾💙 Nelson is a handsome 4.5-year-old, 10 pound, Mini Poodle who is beginning a brand-new chapter after being rescued from a puppy mill. While he is still learning that people and new surroundings can be safe, one thing is already clear: Nelson wants to be part of the family. Nelson loves being near his people and his animal pack. He gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home and enjoys exploring the yard alongside them. Cats don’t bother him much—he typically ignores them, although he may give them a little bark if they stroll past his pen at night. Apparently, nighttime cat patrol is serious business! This smart boy is already showing signs that he is going to be a people pleaser. He is beginning to learn words and routines like “outside” and “let’s go inside,” and he is eager to figure out what his people are asking of him. Walking on a leash is still pretty new—and definitely not his favorite activity—so his future family will need to continue working with him patiently and positively. After spending his first years in a puppy mill, Nelson has a lot of catching up to do. He needs a family who understands that trust takes time and will allow him to experience the world at his own pace. In return, they’ll get the incredible privilege of watching this sweet boy discover all the things he missed—comfort, adventure, companionship, and what it means to truly belong. 💙🐩 Nelson is ready to leave his past behind and find the people and pack he can finally call his own.
