PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE INQUIRING Please only submit one online application. List all of the dogs you're interested on the application. Are you looking for your future agility star? Well look no further! This active girl is looking for her running, agility, hiking partner and she wants to know if you have what it takes! Prim is a 2 year old Boston Terrier mix who we think would absolutely THRIVE at agility. She is a very agile dog who would love the mental and physical workouts! Prim is a very social girl and loves all people and dogs! She isn’t always willing to share her toys though. She wants to be with her people at all times and will clear a pet/baby gate to be with you. While Prim has many great qualities, she has a couple not so great ones. First, Prim is a chewer that chews/eats just about anything she can get ahold of (no furniture though) such as kid toys, pens, plastic cups etc and she can scale a 4-5ft fence with no problem. That being said, a secure yard with fencing no shorter than 6ft is a MUST. No acceptions will be made. Prim is being fostered in a home with a toddler, however as we mentioned before, she doesn’t like to share her toys - even with the toddler so we will only be placing her in a home with kids 10y + Please only apply if you can meet the needs of this active girl. Please no apartments, condos, or mobile home parks. A home check is required. No out of state adoptions. Adoption fees are non-negotiable. If you are interested in meeting Prim click the following link. https://form.jotform.com/221116924195050. Complete and submit our online dog application. Please note, you only need to complete the application once, even if you're interested in multiple dogs that are available. The adoption fee for Prim is $450. *Vetting includes: Neuter/spay, microchip, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, heartworm test, flea preventative, heart worm preventative (including the remainder of their 6-month supply), and any other necessary vet care.

Story
We are excited to introduce you to the ever so handsome Blue Jay Bird! Blue Jay known in his foster home as BJ, is a boston terrier puppy born approximately on 12/17/2023 who is paralyzed in his rear legs since birth.     He is a ham . He is Mr. personality and loves to be around other animals and humans.   He is not incontinent. but has to wear diapers so he doesn't dribble peepee on his legs as he moves due to the pressure on his stomach. But most importantly he wears them to keep his tush safe from friction burns and wounds . He came to us with wounds on his bum, tail, back of his legs and feet. The back of his legs and tush were completely bald due to constant friction. His hair is now growing in as his wounds have healed due to wearing diapers to protect his skin. He needs to be on carpeted surfaces to help his ability to maneuver around in his own way.   He takes baths daily and loves them . he gets his bath a bit before bedtime where he sleeps without a diaper (we call this his naked time). He sleeps great through the night in his x pen where he has a soft bed, toys, a rug underneath, and his water. He does great in a sling where he can be carried around and he will watch the world and enjoys being in the conversation.   He gets the post dinner crazies and wants to play play play. At times he thinks he is in WWE and the star of Monday night raw and it is his responsibility to defeat the Undertaker .   He loves toys and fun things to chew on line bully sticks and bento balls. He has not had all of his puppy shots yet but has been neutered. He travels fine in the car with a bully stick to keep him entertained.   This guy is looking for a family (or person) who works from home, is retired, doesn't have to work, or can take him to work with them. If none of those apply then a babysitter when you will be gone for long hours. He does great in an office setting and stays on his dog bed and rug in the office.   He is being fostered in Sacramento California which is where he will be available to meet potential adopters. If you are interested in meeting and adopting this amazing fella, fill out an application at www.beourpet.org/adoptions.php please be as detailed as possible and let us know why you would be an ideal home for this sweet guy. He requires special attention and care to ensure he is safe, so let us know how you can provide that in your home.   If you are unable to adopt but want to help sweet BJ find the perfect home, please ***SHARE HIS STORY*** GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Special needs, needs diapes Crate Trained?: Yes Leash Trained?: Not yet Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Yes Good with dogs?: Yes Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: No adoption fee for appropriate home Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. Story
Smart, cute, and oh-so-sweet, Ranger is here to bring some fun into your life! Ranger is about 5 months old and is the happiest little boy. He loves to play, make new friends, and promises to always brighten your day with his goofy antics. Ranger currently weighs about 20lbs and will likely be around 45lbs when full-grown. Ranger was surrendered to us with his 9 siblings after the previous family had an unintentional litter of puppies and needed help finding the puppies good homes. Ranger's mom is an Australian cattle dog and his dad is a pug. Ranger is the perfect mix of active and cuddly and would thrive with a family that can take him on lots of adventures. He is a little Velcro dog who always wants to be by your side and join you for whatever the day holds. He is still learning all his basic manners, but is eager to learn (aka earn yummy treats) and needs a family dedicated to helping him learn how to be the best boy he can be. Ranger has done well with the other dogs he has met and has become BFFs with the youngest dog in his foster home. He would be a great buddy for another playful dog, but he could also do well as an only dog with lots of dog friends and playtime. Ranger has had some experience with cats and seems like he could do well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Ranger has previously lived with kids and could be a great addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Ranger has been doing well with his house training and quickly learned how to use a dog door, but needs a family that will be patient with him while he is learning and expect accidents. Ranger has been doing well sleeping through the night in a crate, but hasn't spent too much time home alone and needs a family with a schedule that would allow them to slowly acclimate him to being comfortable being home alone. Ranger is a rockstar pup and can't wait to mee his fur-ever family. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Ranger's adoption fee is $400.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. April 29, 2024, 6:13 pm
