Story
We got Bebe as a puppy to help my wife recover from cancer. She died. I am 77 years old, and unable to give this energetic puppy the love and attention which will help her thrive. I can feed her and pet her, but she needs more than this. An active, friendly family would love her, and she would love them.

Story
Meet our adorable bonded siblings— a pair of 1-year-old Boston Terrier/Pug mixes (often called “Buggs”). Tan one is a male and black and grey one is a female. They have grown up together, sleep together, play together, and truly comfort one another. They must be adopted as a pair. They are friendly, affectionate, expressive, and very connected to each other. They love toys, cozy blankets, treats, and being near their people. Both are healthy, small, and at a perfect age to adapt to a loving new home. They need a family with a secure yard, plenty of space, and time to give them attention and enrichment. They’re not suited for outdoor-only living (short-nosed breeds) We are rehoming them due to living in a very small ADU and expecting a baby — not because of any behavior or health problems. They deserve more space and stability than we can provide right now.

Story
I’m Cappuccino. I am a five-year-old, neutered, smooth coated Boston terrier mix with beautiful eyes. I am fully vaccinated and will be micro-chipped. I love to go to the beach and play in the water. Starbucks run anyone?? I LOVE getting Puppuccino’s! I’m a fun guy and love chasing around a laser. I will be your best friend, your cuddle bug and your protector. I’ll always try to make you smile when you’re sad. I am a loving pup, who enjoys being close with my human. I was raised with cats, however, after being attacked by a big dog, I am frightened by other dogs. I am reactive on the leash but hopefully you will get a trainer to teach me that I am SAFE. I am being rehomed because my mom works two jobs and I am very lonely. Will you be my new forever family? I can’t wait to meet you. See you soon! If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
Max is a good boy, but unfortunately my Mom is unable to keep up with his physical requirements. My Mom is disabled, and doesn't have much mobility. As such, he's picked up some bad habits. I need to stress that he will require a certain level of training. He's very strong for his size and very curious about the outside world. He loves people and is very affectionate. He really needs a firmer but loving hand to get him back on track. He's up to date with his rabies vaccine, but is due for a few more (hopefully we can get you that info shortly). We also have a crate, treats, leash and food for him. This is a no fee adoption. We really just want to find someone who can meet his needs. We are happy to answer any additional questions.

Story
"Everyone, meet Boston, a sweet and friendly young pup who is looking for a forever home where he can feel loved and cared for! Despite his young age, Boston is an intelligent dog who is always ready to learn and impress his owners. He is a quick learner who knows how to behave, and he'll do best in a calm and quiet home where he can get the rest he needs after an exciting day of adventures. With his friendly and outgoing personality, we're sure that he'll make plenty of human friends in his new neighborhood! Boston is in the process of being housebroken and is currently using diapers, which he takes very seriously. He's quite the clean dog and keeps his diaper area clean and free of any messes. He will need your continued support and patience as he learns to navigate this new skill, but with the right care and attention, we have no doubt that he'll master it in no time. Overall, Boston is a charming and adorable dog with a heart of gold. He's eager to find a home where he can be the center of attention and shower his new family with love and loyalty. If you think you can provide him with the loving home he deserves

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*SPECIAL NEEDS* Meet Croquette, affectionately known as K, a French Bulldog puppy who is not only adorable but truly special in every way. Despite facing some significant challenges, K embodies the spirit of resilience and boundless joy. This delightful pup shares all the typical traits of a French Bulldog puppy – she loves to play, indulge in chewy hooves, enjoy her meals, and bask in the warmth of snuggles. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she'll dance with excitement, hoping you'll scoop her up for some extra love. K, however, is a very special girl, born with severe defects, including Spina Bifida with an open defect and leg differences, as well as hydrocephalus (or missing parts of her brain). These conditions mean that her back legs didn't form correctly, and she'll require diapers throughout her life. Her balance is a work in progress, and she may experiences occasional seizures (no meds required as none have helped). While K's special care demands around 45 minutes a day, she firmly believes she deserves attention at all times. She is on the lookout for a family that can provide constant companionship. Foster mom works but luckily someone stops in to care for K during the day.  K will eat hard food but doesn't have the drive for water, so she is fed mush (often by the spoon) to make sure she gets hydrated.  Handling her bathroom needs involves gentle expressions, a routine that K takes in stride. This may seem like a lot, but the reward is immeasurable – the sheer happiness and joy that K brings to every moment. In terms of life expectancy, K's story aligns with another dog adopted out six years ago with similar conditions, who is still thriving today. While the duration of any dog's life is uncertain, what truly matters is the love and cherishment they receive during their time. For those willing to embrace the uniqueness of caring for a special needs pup and provide a loving home, the adoption fee is waived for the right match. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Ora – The Shimmering Little Miracle Ora is a tiny French Bulldog with a heart of gold and a coat as unique as her story. Born on August 20th, she was recently brought to the Antioch Shelter, who reached out to us for help. Despite that rocky beginning, Ora is one of the happiest, most social little pups you’ll ever meet—she adores people, loves other dogs, and clearly came from a home where she was loved. What Makes Ora So Unique? Ora is a double merle Frenchie. This means both of her parents carried the merle gene, which creates beautiful, mottled coats. But when two merles are bred together, it can result in pups with very light coloring and an increased risk of vision or hearing issues—about a 25% chance. Ora beat the odds! She can both see and hear, though one of her eyes is red (likely due to albinism), which may cause some light sensitivity or slightly reduced vision. But don’t worry—dogs don’t rely heavily on eyesight. They navigate the world with their noses, ears, and hearts, and Ora does just fine. More About Ora: Age: Born 8/20 Personality: Outgoing, affectionate, loves humans and dogs alike Health: Appears to see and hear well; may have mild light sensitivity Special Traits: Rare merle coat, red albino eye, emotionally resilient and sweet Behavior: Social butterfly, playful, loves to be near her people &#226&#156&#168 Ready for a Special Kind of Love? Ora is a perfectly imperfect little soul looking for someone who appreciates her rare beauty and big personality. She’s as “normal” as any puppy—just with extra sparkle.
