Story
If you're looking for a loyal sidekick who wants to be involved in every part of your day, Gerald is your guy. This happy, affectionate pug loves being with his people and will happily follow you from room to room just to see what you're up to. Lovingly called Jerry, this happy guy came to us from a CA Central Valley shelter. We estimate him to be around 3 years old, and he is playful, social, and always ready for an adventure. He enjoys walks, loves attention, and is quick to offer cuddles when it's time to relax. He's eager to please and has a wonderful, goofy personality that makes people fall for him fast. Like many rescue dogs, Jerry is still working on a few things. He's learning leash manners and gets more confident on walks every day. He's also making progress with potty training as he settles into a routine. He has a small undeveloped eye that does not hurt or need to be removed. Jerry would do best in a home where he can be the star of the show and soak up plenty of love and attention. He hasn't been tested with children yet, but everyone he's met so far has been greeted with enthusiasm, curiosity, and lots of affection. Hes friendly with cats, but like most dogs will want to chase them if they run. He recently got neutered, a dental cleaning, a microchip, and full vaccinations. If you're looking for a devoted companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Jerry is ready to meet you.

Story
Meet Gino! At just 6 months old, Gino is a happy, playful pug mix puppy with a personality thats impossible not to love. This sweet boy is already pretty great at potty training and is crate trained, giving him an amazing head start for his future family. (But just like any puppy, he will have accidents in new environments!) Gino loves other dogs and enjoys having furry friends around. Like any puppy, hes still learning and is currently working on leash and harness skills. With patience, consistency, and a little encouragement, hell continue building confidence and becoming the best walking buddy. One of Ginos cutest quirks? He loves walking on his hind legs! When hes not showing off his little moves, you can find him napping, soaking up cuddles, or playing with his favorite toy bones. Give this boy some outdoor space and hell happily zoom and bounce around to his hearts content. Gino came to us as an owner surrender from an accidental litter. His mom is a full pug, and his dad is a pug mix. Hes already tall with a bigger build, so we expect hell likely be around 2030 pounds full grown. If youre looking for an active, happy pup who would love to join you on outdoor adventures, Gino might be your perfect match! Gino is being fostered in Antioch, CA and will be at our adoption event this weekend in Lafayette. Come meet him!

Story
Say hello to Remy and that adorable little tongue! Its always peeking out because Remy has no teeth (more on that below), and it only adds to her charm. Remy is an adult pug who came to us as an owner surrender and is now looking for her forever home. Remy is affectionate, smart, and already knows her basic commands (and some fun ones!) Shes fully potty trained and loves nothing more than being close to her people. She also is great in a crate! A true velcro pug, Remy wants to be by your side and go everywhere with you. Shes an active girl who enjoys playtime and exercise, especially a good game of fetch. Remy enjoys hikes, sniffing around, and soaking up the sunshine. While she generally gets along with other dogs, she does show some resource guarding, so thoughtful introductions and guidance are important. She's also not a big fan of larger dogs, much like many small dogs. Shes been around cats and young kids and does fine. Remy would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time to provide the consistency, reassurance, and companionship she needs right now. All of Remys teeth were removed when she was young due to some malformations, so she eats softened kibble and absolutely loves her veggies. Bonus: no dental cleanings needed! She has no health issues other than the one that was resolved with the teeth pulling. Her previous family decided to rehome her after welcoming a baby and no longer having the time she deserves. Remy is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and shes currently being fostered in San Francisco. Shes ready to give her whole heart to a family who will cherish her forever.

Story
We estimate this handsome pug to be around 34 years old. Benji is a spirited, energetic boy who would thrive in an active home that can keep up with his playful personality. When he first arrived, Benji struggled with marking in the home, but hes made great progress and is doing much better with house training. He already knows sit, gets along well with other dogs, and does well when left alone without being destructive. Hes recently started chewing on toys, a sweet sign that hes settling in and learning to relax. Benji has a big heart and loves affection, happily seeking it out throughout the day. Hes a loyal little shadow who prefers to stay right by his persons side and will follow them everywhereeven to the bathroom. He does not enjoy being crated and will let you know with plenty of howling, as he much prefers companionship. This lovable, headstrong pug is looking for a patient home that will continue guiding him while embracing his affectionate, clingy nature and zest for life. He came to us from Elk Grove Animal Services after they reached out for help when it was discovered he had a severe case of Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome that required surgery to improve his breathing. Benji has since undergone his soft palate surgery and even got a dental cleaning at the same time. Hes now neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and feeling so much better.

Story
Ethel and Lucy are ready to find their forever home together. A few weeks ago, we introduced you to this sweet bonded pair after they were rescued from a heartbreaking situation. At six years old, Ethel and Lucy had endured years of neglect and abuse. They were used for breeding, confined to crates inside an RV, and denied proper medical care for far too long. Both girls have Grade 4 bilateral luxating patellas, leaving them with permanently displaced kneecaps and bowed legs. Despite everything theyve been through, their spirits remain incredibly gentle, loving, and trusting. From the moment they arrived in our care, they leaned on one another for comfort. Ethel lovingly grooms Lucy every day, and the two are rarely apart. They explore side by side, curl up together for naps, and happily hop around the yard without pain. They adore being held, sitting on laps, and following their favorite people wherever they go. Ethel and Lucy are wonderful with children and dogs of all sizes. At our recent adoption event, they happily welcomed attention from everyone they met, soaking up pets and cuddles from strangers with ease. These girls deserve a home filled with love, patience, soft beds, and all the princess treatment they were denied for so many years. If you have a special place in your heart for the ones who need a little extra TLC, please consider opening your home to this extraordinary bonded pair. Theyd love nothing more than to cuddle up with you on the couch or enjoy the outdoor breeze with you by their side. Both are spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and recently had dental work completed. They are currently being fostered near Sacramento. They're potty trained, have good recall, and are great in the car.

Story
**Boston terriers are prone to major medical issues such as eye ulcers, knee problems, and heart stroke. We are hoping to find someone with experience with the breed, or other Brachycephalic breeds, for Daisy.**   Daisy is everyone's friend! Daisy is about 2.5 years old, and she is a social and affectionate girl who can't wait to be your new best friend. She is a fun pup who loves her daily walks around the neighborhood and making friends with everyone she meets along the way. She is eager to be everyone's BFF and isn't shy about planting some kisses on your face. Daisy currently weighs about 24lbs. Daisy came to us from a local shelter after she was surrendered by her previous owner. From what we were told, her previous owner was elderly and disabled and was no longer able to physically take care of Daisy and her brother. Her brother was rescued by another rescue. Daisy has been thriving in foster care and is oh-so ready to find her fur-ever home!. Daisy is a curious and bubbly girl who enjoys cuddles, exploring the neighborhood, and playing with her toys. She has all the wonderful traits that people love about Boston terriers - goofy, fun, and lovable. Her favorite place is with her people, and she would love a family where someone works from home or can bring her to work with them (even better, is retired). She is a moderate-energy pup who is always happy to join you on the couch for some relaxation or lounging in the cool morning/evening weather outside. Daisy is still learning all of her basic manners and will need a family committed to continuing her training. Daisy has been doing well living with a playful large dog, but also seems like she wouldn't mind being your one-and-only canine companion. We haven't seen Daisy around cats, and would recommend a very slow introduction to any cats in the home, as Boston terriers can have high prey drives. Daisy could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Daisy is still working on her housetraining and is making great progress. She didn't get proper training in her previous home, so she will need a family who can be patient and consistent with her training to help her succeed. Daisy has been doing well sleeping in her crate overnight and is content to hang out in there for short periods during the day. Daisy seems like she could do well living in an apartment with proper daily exercise. Daisy is such a darling girl and is going to make someone very lucky. If you think that someone might be you, submit an application today!   Daisy's adoption fee is $500.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org.
