Story
Senior dogs don’t ask for much—just love. And they give everything in return. Wendi, a nearly 10-year-old Boston Terrier, has been through more than her fair share—but she’s come out the other side stronger, sweeter, and ready for the soft, loving retirement she’s always deserved. She hasn’t had the easiest life and is still learning what it truly means to feel safe and cherished. Having only lived with women, she is understandably fearful of men and would thrive best in a calm, female-only (or very female-led) home that will move at her pace and let trust grow naturally. Recently, this brave girl underwent surgeries to repair  both knees —earning her the nickname “bionic girl”—and had a mass removed. The good news? She is recovering beautifully and feeling better each day. Her resilience is matched only by her gentle spirit. Now, she’s ready to focus on the good things in life such as a quiet companionship, cozy cuddle sessions and a peaceful home where she’s treated like a treasure she is! She is doing  well with both crate training and house training , and she finds comfort in routine and consistency. She doesn’t need much—just patience, kindness, and someone who understands that senior dogs have the biggest hearts. If you’re looking to open your home (and your lap) to a deserving senior who will repay you with quiet loyalty and endless snuggles, this sweet Boston girl may be your perfect match. If you are interested in adopting Wendi, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ** December 31, 2025, 12:39 pm

Story
Ruby is a sweet, happy, goofy girl that loves her people. Ruby loves to sit with you and has no idea what personal space is. She loves to chase balls, chew on bones and lay in the sun. She gets along great with cats and older respectful children. She needs to be the only dog in the home. She is not compatible with other dogs, she has a history of fighting with a small dog in the home. She would thrive in an adult home with someone to love and spoil her.

Story
This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue for information. Contact information is provided in the description below.Roxie is a sweet girl who needs a new home. She arrived at the owner's father's house as a stray over a year ago, and when the neighbors called animal control, he stepped in to take her. However, since then, the owner's mom has passed, and her dad's health is making it difficult to maintain a house/yard; he is planning to move into a retirement community. Unfortunately, Roxie isn't allowed to go with him. It breaks his heart, but he has to move for many reasons. We are looking for a loving home for her. She is around 65 lbs, has been spayed, vaccinated, and is very trainable. She has a lot of energy, but she's eager to learn and please. She is comfortable with a yard with a fence or snuggling on the couch. She is housetrained. We had a trainer evaluate her, and he said she would be best in a home with a fence (since she needs lots of exercise) and no small children (not due to aggression but to overstimulation and the need to be gradually socialized). We are willing to travel to meet or deliver her to the perfect home!If you are interested in Roxie, please email erofamily@yahoo.com

Story
Meet Otis – The Gentleman with the Biggest Heart  At 2 ½ years old and 27 pounds, Otis is the perfect little package of love. This Boston Terrier mix (with maybe a dash of Min Pin magic!) is as charming as they come. Sadly, Otis lost his beloved human, and his tender heart has been looking for someone new to love ever since.  Otis is the definition of a loyal friend—he adores people and is wonderful with other dogs. With his playful spirit and affectionate personality, he’ll happily bring joy to any home. The only thing he asks is a cat-free environment, since our feline friends aren’t his cup of tea. Healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative, Otis is ready to start fresh. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for his person, the one who will give him the love and stability he deserves.  If you’re searching for a best friend who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Otis is your boy. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 &#226&#156&#168 Could Otis be the missing piece of your heart?   Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 28, 2025, 8:49 am
