Story
Meet Figgy! Figgy is a 5-year-old Boston Terrier weighing about 15 pounds, and she has all the fun, spunky Boston personality you’d expect! This silly girl loves to run, climb, and play—especially when she’s chasing her resident Jack Russell buddy around the house. She keeps everyone entertained with her energy and antics. Figgy came from a puppy mill, so she is still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. Because of her past, she can be nervous in new situations and is still building confidence. She does not currently walk on a leash and will need a patient adopter willing to continue helping her work through that, along with her potty training. What Figgy needs most is a calm, understanding home that will let her go at her own pace and celebrate the little victories. A securely fenced yard and another confident, playful dog may help her continue to blossom. With time, patience, and love, Figgy is sure to become an amazing little companion. If you’re looking for a quirky, playful girl and have the heart to help a deserving dog continue her journey, Figgy may be your perfect match. Figgy is fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Ian – Your Slightly Wonky, Totally Wonderful Adventure Buddy If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain… Ian might just be your perfect match. This little Boston Terrier mix lives life full throttle—zooming through the yard like he’s racing in the Indy 500, making pit stops in imaginary swamps with Shrek, and embracing every muddy, joy-filled moment along the way (bonus points if you don’t mind getting a little dirty with him). Ian is a young, playful pup with a heart as big as his personality. He came into rescue with a shattered hip that has since healed, leaving him with an adorable “wonky” gait. When he runs, his back leg sometimes flails out to the side—but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. If anything, it just makes him even more unforgettable. Personality & Play Style: Ian is a social, toy-loving goofball who thrives on fun. He always has a toy in his mouth—seriously, always. He’ll take them outside, bring them back in, and politely “check” them at the door until you hand them back. He loves playing with other dogs, especially games of chase and keep-away. After playtime, Ian enjoys winding down with his favorite toy and appreciates a little personal space during his chill time. Because of this, he’d do best with a laid-back, respectful dog companion—especially one around his size or slightly smaller who won’t bother him when he’s relaxing. Snuggles Included: Once the zoomies are out, Ian is all about couch time. He’ll curl up beside you, toy in tow, and drift off while you watch TV. The perfect mix of playful and snuggly. Communication Style (aka his signature move): Ian has the best voice—a raspy, screechy, baby pterodactyl sound that he proudly uses to let you know when he’s ready to come out of his crate or needs a potty break. It’s hilarious, endearing, and very effective. He’ll also quietly go sit by the door, so keep an eye out—he’s a good boy who just needs you to notice his polite signals. Mealtime & Care: Ian is an enthusiastic foodie, so he uses a slow feeder bowl to keep mealtime safe and comfortable. Medical Transparency: Due to his past injury, Ian has diabetes insipidus. The good news: • No injections required • Managed with oral medication twice daily • Just needs a few extra potty breaks His condition is well-managed, and he’s living a happy, active, zoomie-filled life. The Perfect Home for Ian: • An active home that enjoys play, laughter, and a little chaos • A consistent adopter who can manage his simple medical routine • A respectful dog companion—or he’d love being your one and only • Someone who appreciates a quirky, lovable personality Ian isn’t just a dog—he’s an experience. He’ll make you laugh daily, keep life interesting, and then curl up next to you like he’s always belonged there. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Ginger! An adorable senior with the soul of a puppy. Ginger must be an only pet. She does not like to share her humans or her possessions. She divides her time equally between playing and cuddling. She gets a little grumbly if you decide to end either before she's ready but she does correct easily. I wouldn't recommend a home with kids because of her desire not to share. This sweet girl has a history of struvite crystals and does require observations for flareups. She also has dry eye and will need prescription eye ointment lifelong. Otherwise, she is in good health. If you are a strong, patient pack leader and are looking for a cuddly ball of energy, Ginger may be your girl.March 7, 2026, 3:29 pm

Story
Rio was a rescue, found at about 4 months old, alone. Soon after, she broke her hind leg after jumping on a tile floor, fixed with surgery. Due to this timeline, we missed a critical opportunity to train her well. She is very sweet and friendly, knows basic commands. She does have poor recall, so she has to be leashed at all times when outside. Despite her injury, she is really fast and loves playing with other dogs. However, she definitely needs to be in a home with another dog to use up the energy. We used to have a large fenced in yard where she was really happy.

Story
Location: Covington, KY Food: Taste of the Wild Sierra Mountain Canine Recipe Medication: NexGard Plus If you love a short king, King Max could be the man of your dreams! Before we get ahead of ourselves, no king is perfect and Max certainly has his quirks. Some of them are things that will improve over time with a good structured schedule, some of them are just going to be parts of life for him. But we all have our flaws! When Max came to rescue, we were informed that he is allergic to chicken. While at his foster home he hasn't shown any signs of allergy symptoms, but we recommend steering clear of any food that comes from an animal with wings just to be on the safe side. Potty training? He's working on it, and has definitely improved from when he first arrived, but there's still more work to be done. He's started to figure out that when we go for walks, we're going out to potty, especially first thing in the morning and right after work. In the evenings, after a few hours of hanging around at home together, he sometimes just wants to walk and enjoy the time together and not actually potty. The good news? He WILL use potty pads pretty consistently, so there's a solid back up option while he gets the hang of his forever home's schedule. When it comes to his manners... while we marked object aggression, what he's shown signs of is more barrier aggression and specifically toward other dogs, not people. Max does need to build up his confidence a little more, and this could potentially be something that improves over time with training and adjustments. He does great in his crate otherwise, so it will be important that if there is another dog in the home, his crate is in a space that's just his. When he's out of his crate, he coexists wonderfully with his foster sisters and even will join one of them for her end of the day zoomies. Speaking of other dogs, Max is a full time ladies man when it comes to four-legged friends. He'll ignore other boys as long as they don't get too close, but he will definitely be happier in a home either as an only dog, or with a Queen to his King. Now onto the good; Max loves his people. No, really, he LOVES people. If he could crawl inside of your skin, he still wouldn't be close enough to you. He's not the best snuggler, but that's only because he's so excited about affection that he can't hold still if you're petting him. Oh and toys? He doesn't really care about them. He does appreciate a nice benebone to wind down at the end of the day, but if you throw a toy he's more likely to just run over to you for some love than to chase after the toy. King Max is still a little weary of strangers while on walks, but does walk with very royal poise while on leash and will occasionally decide to greet his loyal subjects who happen to be passing by. He has shown more interest in saying hi to people on walks the more he's been out with the resident Frenchie, so that interest may grow even more as he becomes a more confident dude. If you're looking for a people pleaser, you definitely have it with Max. He gets more excited about attention and praise than he does about treats, so even though he is still working on learning a lot of basic obedience commands, he's very easy to teach even if he isn't the quickest learner. Max is a whole lot of personality in a small package, and his ideal forever home will be with a strong and confident leader to help him learn the structure and boundaries he needs to live his best bulldog life. If you think you could be ready to handle all he has to offer, click apply! ***Adoption Process*** -All current pets in the home need to be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and on veterinarian prescribed flea/tick/heart worm prevention. -Everyone living in the home, including all resident dogs, must be present at the meet and greet located in the Southwest Ohio area. -We DO NOT ship dogs!!!

Story
Location: Dayton, OH Food: Acana red meat & grains Medication: NexGard Plus Meet Mew — the rare, pink little legend you didn’t know you needed. Named after the elusive Pokémon, Mew lives up to the title: a soft-colored, slightly mysterious Frenchie with a face that looks like it was dipped in strawberry milk and a personality that quietly steals hearts. His very pink, light coloring means he’s a sun-safety kind of guy. Extended sunbathing isn’t his thing unless he’s wearing nature’s version of SPF: shade. Too much bright light and you’ll catch him doing his signature squinty-eye look, like a tiny philosopher contemplating the meaning of snacks. Despite his pale, ethereal appearance, Mew can see and hear just fine. He’s not delicate, just… selectively attentive. Like most Frenchies, his hearing works perfectly when a treat bag rustles, a leash jingles, or someone whispers “want to cuddle?” Other commands may occasionally pass through the cosmic void. Mew is gentle, sweet, and quietly charming. He’s the type who doesn’t need to be the loudest in the room to be noticed. He simply appears beside you, leans in, and suddenly you realize you’ve been chosen. His soft coloring, soulful expression, and slightly squinty gaze give him a permanently thoughtful look, but don’t be fooled. Beneath that calm exterior is a playful little companion who enjoys affection, cozy lounging, and being near his people. Because of his sensitive skin, Mew will do best with a family that understands he’s more moonbeam than sunshine. Short outdoor adventures, shady hangouts, and indoor snuggle sessions suit him perfectly. Think less beach lifeguard, more indoor cloud. If you’re looking for a rare find, a gentle soul, and a pink Frenchie who feels like he wandered out of a storybook, Mew might just be your mythical match.
