Story
Welcome Chickie ❤️ One year old, Boston/Collie mix, spay female, 30lbs This girl is about a year old, and still very much a puppy. Chickie was brought to the shelter with her sibling, he has since been adopted. She had a hard time adapting to the hard floors in the shelter, and was afraid to walk inside. We placed her into a foster home, and within the week she developed more confidence, and started walking inside. Chickie is a very sweet, she can be insecure at first, but once you show her love, and make her feel safe you get to see the goofy, playful, and gentle girl she really is. Chickie is going to make a great family addition for someone special. She has been around others dogs of all sizes, cats, and even a ferret without any issues. Chickie is working on house training, and leash walking. Over all, she is intelligent, fun, and sensitive. Will she be the Apple of your eye ?? Chickie is current on vaccines, heart worm tested, microchipped, and spay. We are accepting applications at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHPA/Dog

Story
Looking for a little dog with a whole lot of heart? Meet Ian! Ian is a 1.5-year-old black and white sweetheart who proves every day that a rough start does not define your future. This pint-sized boy previously suffered a hip injury, which has healed beautifully, and his happy, playful spirit never missed a beat. Ian is fun, boisterous, and full of contagious joy. He loves attention, enjoys romping around with his toys, and is always ready for a cuddle when playtime winds down. He does well with other dogs and would make a wonderful addition to a home with canine friends. Ian also loves his food and is happily not picky. He eats from a slow-feeder bowl to help him enjoy his meals at a healthy pace and aid digestion. Medical Transparency (the important but reassuring part): Ian has Diabetes Insipidus, which is not the same as diabetes mellitus. This condition affects how his body concentrates urine and has nothing to do with blood sugar. • Oral medication only — no shots or injections • Takes medication twice daily to maintain healthy urine concentration and support full bladder emptying • Medication may be lifelong or temporary, depending on future veterinary guidance • Medication cost can vary depending on the veterinarian or pharmacy • Needs frequent potty breaks Ian does wonderfully on his routine and is otherwise a happy, active, affectionate young dog. He is looking for a loving home that will appreciate his joyful personality and continue his simple daily care so he can thrive for years to come. Are you ready to give this resilient, playful boy the forever home he deserves? Basic Info: Male, 1 yr old, Boston Terrier/Chihuahua, Coat: Black and White, neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots and preventions, preventatives. Local adoption fee (Texas) - $200 Out of state adoption (includes transport to your area) ‐ $450

Story
Meet Ginger! An adorable senior with the soul of a puppy. Ginger must be an only pet. She does not like to share her humans or her possessions. She divides her time equally between playing and cuddling. She gets a little grumbly if you decide to end either before she's ready but she does correct easily. I wouldn't recommend a home with kids because of her desire not to share. This sweet girl has a history of struvite crystals and does require observations for flareups. She also has dry eye and will need prescription eye ointment lifelong. Otherwise, she is in good health. If you are a strong, patient pack leader and are looking for a cuddly ball of energy, Ginger may be your girl.June 30, 2025, 10:08 pm

Story
Location: Dayton, OH Food: Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein Medication: NexGard Plus Hi. I’m Derek. I’m three years old, French, and extremely soft—like velvet chocolate cloud soft. Please be respectful. I’ve had a bit of a glow-up medically. My nares and palate have been fixed, I’m neutered, and my ears had a TECA procedure after some really nasty infections. Because of that, I’m mostly deaf now—but don’t panic. I’m very good at watching my people for cues. If you move, I notice. If you sit, I appear. If you open cheese… I am already there. I like other dogs just fine, but if I’m being honest? People are my favorite. I don’t need to be an only dog, but I would also thrive as the center of your universe. I do require a fenced yard, mostly because I enjoy frequent outdoor visits. I have a small bladder and prefer not to hold important things like that. Food-wise, I’m currently on a hydrolyzed diet. I had an allergic reaction a few weeks ago (rude mystery, never identified), but I’m all better now. My diet is very exclusive: hydrolyzed food and cheese. This arrangement is non-negotiable. I am crate-trained, an excellent snuggler, and deeply devoted to my people. I will press myself against you like I’m trying to merge souls. That’s just how I love. Full transparency: I’ve had a little phase where I tried marking a few spots in the house. I’ve since been closely supervised (apparently tethered friendships are a thing), and I’m doing much better. I just need someone who watches me closely and takes me outside often. Fair trade, honestly. I’m not perfect—but I am gentle, affectionate, loyal, and very serious about cuddling. If you want a soft, soulful Frenchie who will watch you constantly and love you deeply, I think we should meet. Love, Derek 🖤🐾 ***Adoption Process*** -All current pets in the home need to be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and on veterinarian prescribed flea/tick/heart worm prevention. -Everyone living in the home, including all resident dogs, must be present at the meet and greet located in the Southwest Ohio area. -We DO NOT ship dogs!!!

Story
Location: Cincinnati, OH Food: Hydrolyzed Protein Medication: NexGard Plus Hi , my name is Ruby . Let me tell you a little about myself . First of all, yes… it’s true. I have one ear. Before you panic, relax. I can still hear you. Sometimes you might need to clap, stomp, or make a little extra effort to get my attention, but if you yell “RUBY,” I promise you… I heard that. Probably. Mostly. Enough. Now let’s talk about my personality, because wow. I am crate trained, potty trained, and professionally hilarious. I am also extremely good at keeping myself occupied, especially if you meet my one non-negotiable requirement: 👉 An absolutely unhinged supply of Benebones. I will chew one for an HOUR. Do not test me. Do not buy just one. This is not a suggestion. This is a contract. I love humans. I will climb directly into your lap and lay down like I’ve been paying rent there my entire life. I will also bounce off every piece of furniture in your home like I’m training for the Parkour Championship Finals. Couch, wall, ottoman… nothing is safe. Dogs? I like dogs. But let’s be honest… do you like every human you meet? Exactly. Don’t judge me. I’d probably be fine with another dog in the house, HOWEVER… I will act like a WWE wrestler. I prefer to be the dominant personality. I will posture. I will be loud. I will absolutely announce my presence. Now let’s talk about cats. Listen… we are both taking a risk here. I don’t have enough life experience with cats to confidently say how I’ll react, and honestly, I’m curious too. Could I be chill? Possibly. Could I be confused? Likely. Could I stare intensely and make questionable choices? Also possible. So if you have a cat, just know… we’d all be learning together. Important medical tea ☕ I have allergies, and those allergies are actually why I had to have surgeries on my ear. So food rules are not optional, they are a lifestyle. I cannot eat chicken, duck, or turkey. If it once walked around a farm and went “cluck” or “quack,” it is NOT my friend. Stick to my approved diet and I do great. Ignore it and my body will file a formal complaint. Humans can take food or bones right out of my mouth, no problem. If another dog gets near my stuff? I jump on their back and I will deliver a very passionate, very loud TED Talk about boundaries. My facial expressions alone are worth the adoption fee. I will bring you joy all day long just by existing. I am dramatic. I am expressive. I am basically an emoji in dog form. So if you’re looking for a dog who will: • Sit in your lap • Make you laugh constantly • Chew like it’s her job • Bounce off furniture • Wrestle dogs verbally and physicality • Be honest about cats • Respect a strict diet • Hear you most of the time • And stare into your soul with judgment and love Congratulations. You found me. Love, Ruby 🐶👑 (one ear, unlimited personality) ***Adoption Process*** -All current pets in the home need to be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and on veterinarian prescribed flea/tick/heart worm prevention. -Everyone living in the home, including all resident dogs, must be present at the meet and greet located in the Southwest Ohio area. -We DO NOT ship dogs!!!

Story
Location: Dayton, OH Food: Wild Red Ocean Recipe Medication: NexGard Plus “Hello, My name is Comet! I am a Frenchie with Badass Bulldog Rescue! I am 5.5 years old, and I am about the sweetest little boy you will ever meet! I am very shy, and it might take me some time to trust, but when I come out of my shell I am a really good boy! I love treats, and attention, and I really actually love my crate! If you leave my crate door open with some blankets in there and that is where I will hang out mostly! I like having a safe place! I love toys! I'll play with them, and hide them in my crate too! I stay near you when we are outside too, don't see me look right next to you I'm there! I have really soft fur, and the most positive attitude ever! The place I came from was pretty hard on me, and all I want is a forever family to show me love and what it is like to be a real doggie! My fosters have shown me I can trust peoples, and my foster siblings are showing me how to play! I am really good around other dogs and kitties. I am pretty submissive, and just want to be everyone's friend! Aren't I cute with one ear up and one ear down?? I sure think I am pretty handsome! I am so grateful that I am in a comfy new life filled with love, and I'll show you how grateful I am! I am still learning potty training, but I am pretty freaking smart, and I am figuring it out especially now that I trust my fosters and come out of the crate and walk to the door on my own. I am moderate to low energy, I don't need a ton of exercise! Let me run around the yard sniffing, and play with toys or other pups and I am pretty happy! I sleep through the night in my crate too, and I don't have any accidents there, if you hear me scream while locked in though, please let me out, it means I really need to go potty! I would love to have fur siblings! I'm very slow to trust people so I need the guidance and reassurance of other pups! So please consider welcoming me into your family, and keeping me forever. I am worth it I promise! Did I mention how handsome I am? I hope you will apply for me today!” ***Adoption Process*** -All current pets in the home need to be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and on veterinarian prescribed flea/tick/heart worm prevention. -Everyone living in the home, including all resident dogs, must be present at the meet and greet located in the Southwest Ohio area. -We DO NOT ship dogs!!!
