As a “test run” she recently completed a 1.25-mile jog on leash in about 20 minutes, and then came home with energy to spare and happily played with the other dogs! She truly loves dog-to-dog play and enjoys having canine friends to romp around with. And while she loves action, Piper is also sweet and affectionate. She’s generous with kisses and enjoys cuddling with her people and foster siblings between bursts of play. Piper is crate trained, great in the car, and mostly house trained. She has started responding to the command “go potty,” though she still has accidents and will need continued consistency as she finishes mastering potty training. Because Piper is smart, athletic, and curious, she can also be very good at getting into things and will require a reasonable level of supervision. Her story started with an emergency IVDD surgery after two slipped discs left her unable to stand. It was a scary, uncertain time… until one incredible foster family stepped in and showed her that love truly can heal. From there, Amari began her comeback story. With daily exercises, visits to an acupuncturist, and the help of a set of custom wheels, she started to rediscover her strength — and her spark. Those wheels didn’t slow her down one bit; if anything, they gave her wings. Even when her back legs didn’t want to cooperate, Amari decided she’d just bring them along for the ride. She was the fastest thing on two legs! We knew she needed even more support to reach her full potential, so she joined us here locally where she could get frequent hydrotherapy and chiropractic care. The progress she’s made since then has been nothing short of inspiring. Her chiropractor even uses a special laser treatment that’s helping her continue to improve every week on her sprinkles (see more about that later). Hi there, I'm Vernon! I am a super snuggly sweetheart. I have the the softest, rabbit-like fur you’ll ever touch. I'm a bulldog mix with the cutest underbite, really, I'm a total cuddlebug and love nothing more than curling up close for a nap—or playing joyfully with other dogs. Before rescue, I was surviving as a stray on the streets for months, too scared to trust despite many kindhearted attempts. When I finally decided it was okay to trust and taken in, I had some serious wounds from life outside — I got some TLC, antibiotics, and love. But that is all behind me now and my foster says I've healed beautifully, both inside and out. I have been told that I can have a very serious look but I am gentle, affectionate, and ready to bond deeply with a forever family. While I haven't met cats yet, I am at my best and confident when I am with other dogs and would thrive in a home with canine companions or loving humans who adore snuggles. Now that my rough days are behind me, I'm ready for a soft bed, full belly, and lots of love—maybe with you? True to her bulldog roots, she has a sassy stubborn streak and might need a gentle “hey, manners!” nudge now and then – but she takes corrections like a champ with positive vibes and treats! Dogs - she loves them, but she’s not used to being around them so she needs a fur-sibling who won’t mind to gently correct her. Cat lovers, rejoice! Daisy is totally chill with kitties – she’s a pro at peaceful coexistence and might even make a feline bestie. Potty training? Location: Dayton, OH Food: N&D Pumpkin Medication: Nexgard Plus ✨ Meet Fancy ✨ Fancy may sound like a diva name, but don’t be fooled — this girl is more couch potato chic than red-carpet glam. At about 4 ½ years old, she’s mastered the fine art of lounging but is always down for an adventure (especially if snacks are involved 🍪). She’s currently living with three other bulldogs and adores them all — so we know she’s a dog lover. Cats and kids? Still TBD. But honestly, she’s more interested in figuring out how many naps a day is socially acceptable. Fancy is crate-trained, housebroken, and has zero diva drama — no toy or food aggression here. She’s affectionate, goofy, patient, a little quirky, and proudly carries the title of “Professional Snuggler.” Basically, if you’re looking for a companion who’s equal parts silly and sweet, Fancy is your girl.
