Story
Duke Jackson is an 8 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 21lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Duke is all Boston! He’s an active Boston who loves walks, toys, his crate, mealtime, and so much more!  Duke is an early riser, so it’s the perfect time to take him for an AM walk before it gets too hot, but like a true Boston, he loves to sunbathe too. Duke does great on a leash on walks or casual strolls. He is crate trained and house trained. He LOVES his toys and like to play play play, but he is learning “all done” means it’s time to rest. He currently takes Prozac to help him settle into his new routine, but we believe this could be weened off as he adjusts to life in his new furever home and a stable environment.  Duke would thrive in a home where he was the only dog. Because of his energy level, we recommend a home without children. He has some mildly elevated liver and kidney labs, so we recommend checking those at least once a year to make sure they are staying consistent.  Duke is spunky, funny, cute, and of course a little stubborn - all of the ingredients of a great Boston terrier companion! If you would like to give Duke his forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $250. He is being fostered in Nashville, TN. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them.  For a complete listing of all of our available Bostons, or to learn more about SCBTR, please visit our website at www.southerncrossbtr.com. Story
Truman is a 2 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 28lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Truman is just like his name; he is a true gentleman.  He is playful, joyful, and eager to please.  His past is less known and more of a guess.  He was found in a Walmart parking lot and was skin and bones.  Since then, he has gained as much confidence in himself and others as he has physical weight.    His favorite pastimes are chasing balls, chewing on Benebones and bully sticks, being in social settings, long walks, and tug of war.   He loves to cuddle and snuggle underneath blankets.  He will hide under furniture when he needs to feel safe or is overstimulated. Things to know about Truman in order to match him with the right forever home is that he needs to go to a quiet home.  That means a home with no young children, and no excessively barking dogs.  He does have some food aggression when it comes to treats.  He won't bite if you try to take it away, but he will growl and won't let go.  This may be because for a while he didn't know when or if he would eat again, and because he has a very high prey drive.  Truman is also an escape artist, so in his next home he will need safeguards in place to make sure this does not happen, such as a fenced in yard or the use of baby gates. In short, Truman is a very special dog.  He is one of my favorite fosters.  He deserves a loving and affectionate home, and a life of love and joy with people that he should have had from the start. If you would like to give Truman his forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $375. He is being fostered in Brevard, NC. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them.  For a complete listing of all of our available Bostons, or to learn more about SCBTR, please visit our website at www.southerncrossbtr.com. Story
Jill is a 1 year old Boston Terrier mix that weighs about 37lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Meet Jill, a perfectly sweet girl with the cutest perky ears! Jill found herself in rescue when she was found wandering the streets after a snow and ice storm. Some very nice people took her in to save her from freezing outside. We do believe that she was someone's dog at some point, because she knows some commands such as "sit", "shake", and "down", where she lays on her tummy and wants belly rubs. She has the best disposition and is the perfect combo and sweet and fun. She enjoys playing with the dog she is currently in foster care with, and we believe she would do well in any home with 3 dogs or less, with proper slow introductions. She is both crate trained and house trained, will let you know when she needs to go out, and has never had an accident in the house. She loves a good chew toy. Jill loves to lay in the sunshine-thats how bostons recharge :) She would love a yard to run around in and play. With some practice, she now walks on leash with her harness without any issues. After some play, Jill will plop down in her dog bed for some much needed rest. She does well with children of all ages. Jill is a lover and loves to snuggle and hug her humans. Jill has so much love to give and will make someone a wonderful companion! If you would like to give Jill her forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $375. She is being fostered in Bell Buckle, TN. Story
Buddy is a 9 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 30lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Meet Buddy – The Eternal Puppy in a 9-Year-Old Suit! Hi, I'm Buddy, a handsome blue-and-white Boston Terrier who's living proof that age is just a number! At 9 years young, I still have all the zoomies, energy, and playful spirit of a much younger pup. I'm a total sweetheart who loves every person I meet—expect wiggles, kisses, and maybe some classic Boston "talking" (those adorable grunts and chirps when I'm excited!). I make a great little watchdog too: I'll alert you with my bark whenever someone comes to the door, then happily greet your guests. Car rides are my jam—windows down, ears flapping, pure happiness! Play is my favorite thing: I could fetch that ball all day long and love a good tug-of-war session (bring your strongest rope!). I thrive on attention, belly rubs, and being your constant shadow. I'm fully house-trained and have never had an accident indoors—I'm a very clean and reliable good boy. Walks? I love them, though I might try to lead the way with enthusiastic pulling toward every exciting smell! A few more things about me: I have a special fondness for men (they just get my vibe!), I'm crate-trained, and while I'm outgoing and friendly, I do best with slow, supervised introductions to new dogs to ensure everyone gets along well. As for cats—we don't know yet, as I've never been around one, so a home without cats or one willing to do careful intros would be ideal. If you're ready for a compact, comical, loyal companion who's equal parts snuggle bug, play partner, and devoted shadow, come meet me! I promise to fill your days with laughs, love, and endless puppy energy. Ready to give this forever-young guy his forever home? Apply today—Buddy's waiting to steal your heart (and probably your spot on the couch too)! If you would like to give Buddy his forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $250. He is being fostered in Humboldt, TN. Story
Ziggy is a 10 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 17lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Ziggy was surrendered to rescue by his owner due to unforeseen circumstances. He is a sweet and gentle dog that loves cuddles and prefers to sleep in bed with his human. Dont let his age fool you! Ziggy has lots of energy. He loves to play tug, go on long walks, and visit new places and animals. He does great on car rides and loves to go anywhere as long as he is with you. He is good with children and people of all ages. He is crate trained and house trained, and can go about 4-5 hours between potty breaks. He takes a daily medication for urinary frequency that helps him be able to get through the night without a potty break. He is somewhat of an early riser but does sleep through the night. Ziggy has some cloudiness in his eyes called corneal dystrophy, which doesnt affect his vision up close, but his vision is somewhat limited to see things far away. He has great hearing, though, and will come running when you call his name! Although Ziggy loves to chase any creature that enters his yard, he has never caught any :) He gets along great with the cats and horses at his foster home. Ziggy will jump up on you when excited, but in the most gentle way. He knows commands-sit, wait, and all done. He is very food motivated and will do almost anything for a treat. We think Ziggy would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day to spend time with him, go on walks, or play, and give potty breaks. He loves attention, ,is such a good boy,  and has so much love to give! Story
Weezy is a 3 year old French Bulldog that weighs about 25lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Weezy came to Southern Cross because he developed a pretty severe skin infection common for his breed and his previous owner was not able to manage that. His skin issues are now well managed with medicated baths($25 per bottle that lasts about 2 months) twice weekly and Cytopoint injection($65) every 6-8 weeks. This will need to be continued long term, along with a grain free diet.  Weezy is a typical Frenchie...small body, big personality. He absolutely loves to snuggle with his person. His ideal home would be one where someone is home the majority of the time. He does nip when he plays so a home without small children will be needed. This is easily corrected with a firm command. Weezy has alpha energy and would do best in a home without other dogs or with one other submissive dog. He does show some resource guarding with his food or toys, so he will need to be fed seperate from other dogs in the home.  Weezy has a ton of great traits! He is crate trained and will go to bed in his crate when he needs a nap. He is housebroken and can partially use a doggy door. A little more practice and he will be a pro! He is a vocal guy(typical Frenchie) and will absolutely tell you when he is ready to eat, needs to go out, or just wants attention. He walks well on leash, rides in the car like a champ, and is friendly with any person who wants to look his way!
