Story
Nathan is active and playful who loves to chew on toys and will do his best to destroy them. He is a energetic, but very affectionate as well. He's house trained and crate trained as well. With a little bit of time and training he'll be great. He knows a few basic commands, but some basic behavior training will do him good. An active, experienced adopter is preferred as he would greatly benefit from someone who can keep up with him.

Want to meet me?? Come out and see me at our next event: Sunday, May 5, 2024 11:30-1:30pm Gaithersburg, MD- PetSmart 218 Kentlands Blvd Gaithersburg, MD 20878 *Dog attendance is not guaranteed. Feel free to text the event coordinator to confirm a particular dog's attendance: 703-447-4766 Meet Oliver! Oliver is about 1 years old and weighs about 28 lbs. Our best guess for Oliver's breed mix is Boston Terrier/Pitbull (just a guess). Oliver enjoys daily walks and play time in the backyard. Oliver is a happy boy who enjoys doggie toys and gets the evening zoomies. Oliver is good with other dogs and will need another playful dog in his forever home. Oliver is NOT good with cats. Oliver is not in a foster home with children, but we feel he would do well with children 5 years and up. Oliver is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from Canine and Kitties Rescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375.00, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Meet Boston! We are shocked that this special guy is still here. Boston is adorable, tons of fun, and super friendly. He would love someone who enjoys outdoor activities and playing with toys. He happily sits for treats and is eager to please so he'll quickly learn new tricks and manners. He cannot wait to find his forever family. Boston is wiggling in his boots waiting for you to come pick him up. Please stop by today to meet our guy Boston!Boston does well with other dogs that are very playful and friendly. He came to our shelter as a stray, so we do not have any prior background information on him. He hasn't shown well with chickens and cats, so we recommend that he not go to a home with any. Currently up to date on all his age-appropriate vaccines, and preventatives, microchipped, and neutered. Since being with us for more than 6 months, we consider him one of our Lonely Hearts which makes his adoption fee only $20. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi … my name is Sebastian and here are some things you need to know about me:All dogs are special ... some of God's finest creations, and then there are those who need very special heroes to help them live their best lives. Can you be Sebastian's hero?Sweet Sebastian … what a little mystery he is.  Per the previous owner, his mom is a Boston Terrier and dad is a Chihuahua … which explains the gorgeous brindle coat, the underbite, the big ears and the goofy personality.  He is such a puzzle because once he trusts you, you see a different pup, but until he decides to let you into his world, he is afraid of everything and he tries to hide. He is very cautious of human touch and does not want anyone to pick him up.  He will jump into your lap when he is ready, but he still does not want even his best human friend to pick him up.  And if pushed too quickly, he will warn with a low growl.  He seems to be partial to women, although he does fine with his foster dad.  We are trying to untangle all the pieces of his puzzle to make his world a happier place. Sebastian needs a special home with a patient family!  He will do best with a family with doggy experience … definitely not a good choice for a first pet.  This little boy is truly a diamond-in-the-ruff.  A big investment of time and patience in him will be sure to reap great rewards. If you do not feel like you can adopt and meet his special needs, you can still help him by sponsoring his extended care with tax-deductible donations.  A one-time donation, or monthly or quarterly donations designated for Sebastian's care will be appreciated. If you think Sebastian might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online. Approximate age/birthdate:  born July 22, 2014 Weight/size: ~14 lbs Housebroken:  YES (if you do your part and take him out regularly) Crate trained:  YES Personality:  very cautious, timid, slow to warm up, but sweet and loving once he does, a bit cautious of human touch until he knows he can trust Energy level:  medium  Fenced yard required?:   YES – due to the fact that he is very skittish, he tends to be in ‘flight’ mode so he must have a physical fence for his own safety … no exceptions Does he/she jump fences?  NO Leash walk:  YES (be cautious and use a secure harness and a sturdy leash)  Obedience training:  NO Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first but settles quickly Spayed/neutered:   YES Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES Microchipped:   YES Social with other dogs:  YES Social with cats:  Has not been around cats Good with children:  He might eventually be OK with older, calm children but any excessive noise and activity makes him really nervous and he wants to hide. Adoption donation:  $100 We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Sebastian picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed. Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 6, 2024, 12:06 am
