Story
Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog. Please Contact Shelley, 310-344-1722, shelleycampeau@gmail.com:   MEET BEANS #2!! Temperament: Sweet, curious, and sometimes a little goofy. Loves to roll around and lay upside down on his back. He does have some separation anxiety – currently still managed with his trazadone from the shelter and being crated when I’m not in the home   . With a stable routine and happy home, I think this can be worked on and I think he’d do fine left alone outside of the crate. He has not shown any destructive behaviors. He has not shown any resource guarding with toys, treats, or food with me. Training: House- and crate-trained! He is a gem in the crate - happily goes into it with a couple treats when I leave the house (lays down and naps the whole time) and during the night for bedtime (he loves his green bean treats for nighttime). He knows “sit”, “paw”, “down”, and “wait” (for the okay to have his food). He’s very food motivated so he’s eager and easy to train. Activity level: Beans is always ready for a walk or other adventure, but he also loves a good nap on the couch. Want to go on a long walk or hike? Heck yes. Want to have a lazy Netflix day? Also yes. He’s the best of both worlds! He would do great in a home with a yard where he can roam and play, but he’s done well in an apartment with a couple good walks a day and a few potty breaks. A low-key routine is all he needs to stay a happy boy! Leash & social behavior: Mostly a loose-leash walker - he can pull a bit when he’s excited or he sees other dogs, but can be redirected with treats, especially at distances greater than ~50 ft. He’s pretty good with meeting people on walks and has been good with older children (10+; unknown with younger children or babies). He does have some stranger-danger for some people, so slow introductions and introducing people outside of the home have worked well. He’s done fine with both female and male sitters/visitors. Beans’ PACC notes recommended no other dogs due to behaviors noted in playgroup and dog introductions and an altercation with a small dog in his last foster home, so he’d be best as the only animal in the home. Reactivity: Leash reactivity - Beans will pull when he sees other dogs, but can be pretty easily redirected with treats and command if the other dog is ~50 ft or more away. He does not bark, growl, or bite at the leash when we’re on our walks. He is more reactive to small dogs (any kind) or larger dogs who appear reactive or aggressive towards him.  Barrier reactivity noted in his shelter notes. Also, I observed it in unknown, confined spaces where I think he feels threatened (e.g. vet office). His body language is very telling when this occurs - stiff body, straightened tail.  He can get startled easily, so as with most shelter dogs with unknown pasts, no surprise/forced handling. Other highlights: He is great on car rides, long or short. He is great at catching food or toys when you toss in the air. He is absolutely OBSESSED with playing in the hose! He has the cutest snores when he sleeps. He’s an A++ cuddler and napper – will snuggle up next to you on the couch or even come up on your lap (who doesn’t love a 50+lb lap dog?!) Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog. Please Contact Aura, 480-865-5396, aura092204@gmail.com:   MEET LUCY #16!! Lucy's owner has had her for over 2 years and can easily say that she is one of a kind, simply the best dog ever. Her current owner feels extremely lucky to have come across a dog like her. She is making the heartbreaking decision to re-home her due to a multitude of personal reasons. Lucy will be an amazing dog. She deserves a family that can be active with her, continue training her and loving her to the fullest. She is an incredibly sweet dog with a silly, happy-go-lucy personality. She thrives on routine but can go with the flow most of the time, too. She’s a bit of a Velcro dog, but she does enjoy her “me-time” from time to time. She gets the zoomies frequently, loves to play keep-away with toys, cuddles and gives kisses all the time, she loves to be active but knows when to chill out on a lazy day. Lucy knows several commands and is very food motivated & eager to learn. She is housebroken and rarely gets herself into trouble. She’s honestly extremely well behaved considering what she’s lived through. The most she will do is get into the bathroom trash if the door is left open or dig outside occasionally, though this one was mainly when she was younger. Lucy has been left alone outside of her crate for more than 10 hours but eats in her crate and hangs out there frequently. She does not run out of the door. Lucy will probably do best as the only dog. She shows some resource guarding toward high value items. Lucy also has some reactivity to male strangers. After a proper introduction, this is not an issue. Lucy is a great dog overall that is looking for a new home to call her own. Meet Lucy today! Story
Name: Annabelle “Annie” Sex: Female Age: 10 years old Breed: Boxer/Pittie Mix Weight: 60lbs Compatibility with other dogs: Good with playful, submissive dogs Compatibility with cats: Not good with cats, will chase Compatibility with kids: Great with kids House trained: Yes Spayed/Neutered: Yes Activity level: Moderate Obedience training: Well trained Personality/Behavior: Crate trained, Likes toys, Lap pet, Playful, Affectionate, Eager to please, Goofy Requirements: Meets the whole family; Active home; No cats in the home; Either no kids or older children in the home; Someone to continue daily valley fever meds and allergy medication MEET ANNABELLE aka Hurricane Annie!!! Sweet ol' Hurricane Annie! She's been with the rescue for 9 years awaiting her forever home. She's only had one meet and greet the entire time (and that didn't go very well given how rambunctious she was when she was younger). Miss Annie has turned a new leaf in her older years. She's sweet, friendly, well trained, dog friendly (as long as the other dog is playful and submissive) and is great with kids.  She loves to snuggle in the bed, get "zoomies" but isn't a total hurricane anymore. Now, she's more of like one of those wind tunnels that come out of nowhere quickly with a burst of oomph but then are gone quickly and you're wondering what happened.   Annie loves to go on walks and is slowly learning that we don't have to be in a race, but she gets most of her exercise from swimming and running around the yard with her foster family.  *Annabelle is being treated for valley fever which includes daily AM/PM medication. She also get's an allergy shot every few months. For more information on valley fever: https://wagwalking.com/condition/valley-fever If you would like to meet Annabelle, please visit our website for our adoption application, www.underdogaz.com or send email to info@underdogaz.comMay 24, 2025, 4:49 pm

Story
This sweet dog was found on July 4th after becoming frightened by fireworks. He was discovered hiding near a bush in a quiet suburban neighborhood. The finder waited for someone to come outside and knocked on nearby doors, but no one recognized him. Although he was wearing a collar, he had no ID tag, and a visit to the veterinarian confirmed that he is not microchipped. Sadly, it was later learned that his owner was taken into ICE custody. The owner’s roommate has been caring for him temporarily but is no longer able to provide ongoing care, which is why we are urgently seeking a foster or permanent home. Phoenix is: Friendly and social Gets along well with other dogs and children Loves to play and enjoys time at the park Appears well-mannered and affectionate This dog has already been through a lot and deserves stability, love, and a safe place to call home. If you are able to foster or adopt, please consider giving him the second chance he deserves.

Story
Peta was saved from the streets of Phoenix when she was just a few years old. We suspect she’s about 5 years old and a pit bull. She is very loving; she loves to be pet and given treats. She is used to cats and dogs as she’s lived with both in her current home. She’s a great dog but unfortunately we are moving across states and do not have any possible way to keep her under these circumstances. Looking for an owner that can love her and care for her the way we did.
