This sweet dog was found on July 4th after becoming frightened by fireworks. He was discovered hiding near a bush in a quiet suburban neighborhood. The finder waited for someone to come outside and knocked on nearby doors, but no one recognized him. Although he was wearing a collar, he had no ID tag, and a visit to the veterinarian confirmed that he is not microchipped. Sadly, it was later learned that his owner was taken into ICE custody. The owner’s roommate has been caring for him temporarily but is no longer able to provide ongoing care, which is why we are urgently seeking a foster or permanent home. Phoenix is: Friendly and social Gets along well with other dogs and children Loves to play and enjoys time at the park Appears well-mannered and affectionate This dog has already been through a lot and deserves stability, love, and a safe place to call home. If you are able to foster or adopt, please consider giving him the second chance he deserves.

Finley is a nine-month-old, 29-pound white Boxer mix. This very handsome young dog came to Home Fur Good from Maricopa County, where the busy, noisy shelter environment was overwhelming for him. Because of his fear, Finley was placed on the euthanasia list for hiding under his bed. Home Fur Good staff made a point to meet him before his deadline. They could see that Finley never showed reactivity when he was unsure or frightened, only a quiet hope that someone would understand him. Since arriving at Home Fur Good, Finley has been blossoming. With patience, kindness, and consistency, his confidence has grown, and his true personality is beginning to shine. He is revealing himself to be a friendly, fun-loving pup who enjoys lots of playtime and affection. Watching Finley discover that the world can be a safe and happy place has been incredibly rewarding. Finley would likely thrive in an active yet patient, loving home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. A friendly canine companion could be a wonderful role model and help him feel secure and help him burn some puppy energy off. With the right family, Finley is sure to grow into a devoted and joyful companion. I am a soulful, affectionate pup who craves connection, safety, and a place to truly belong. My early years were tough - I was adopted as a puppy and thought I’d found my forever home, but things didn’t go quite as planned. I love outdoor adventures, cozy spaces filled with pillows and blankets, and keeping busy with my favorite chew and squeaky toys. Belly rubs and booty scratches aren’t just my favorite, they’re how I feel loved, comforted, and safe, and I have no problem making sure my people know when it’s time for affection. I’m treat motivated and eager to learn, making me easy to train and excited to work with people who want to help me continue growing. I feel most comfortable with people who are calm, kind, and patient - folks who let me take things at my own pace but are always there to guide and reassure me when I need it. I need a safe space away from other dogs and lots of hustle and bustle. I thrive on outdoor exploration, mental stimulation, and human connection. I’m very social at heart, I just struggle with trust because of my past, but the more people I bond with the more I learn that I’m wanted, safe, and loved and my personality blossoms. I’m looking for a calm, adults-only home with no other pets, where I can keep growing at my own pace.
