Story
MEET JAZZ, a handsome, loving, 6-year-old black Pit Bull Terrier mix (likely mixed with Boxer) in need of a foster or forever home. He is currently in Northern Minnesota. Jazz has been waiting for awhile and keeps getting overlooked, but he's so deserving of a home! He's friendly & loyal once he has bonded. He can be a bit shy in the beginning, but that wears off quickly. He's playful, smart, protective, brave, curious, athletic, independent and handsome. He will make a good couch potato once he knows he's home. Jazz would do best in an adult-only home with people who really want to give a home to a dog in need. He promises he won't disappoint. He will make a good protector, because of his unwaivering loyalty. He doesn't demand a lot of attention or affection, but he certainly welcomes it. He originally was rescued from a California high-kill shelter in the nick of time. Jazz recently completed some wonderful training in Minnesota and is now doing well with other dogs. His ideal adopter would be an experienced single person or couple who wants a faithful companion. He loves the outdoors and loves to run around, and would be happy to go for walks and hikes with you. He weighs about 55 lbs. If you can foster or adopt Jazz, please email for an application.

Story
MEET RILEY, a 3-1/2-year-old Boxer-Shepherd mix in need of a foster or forever home! Riley was rescued in the nick of time from a crowded California shelter where he was pretty terrified... He sat in the back of the kennel and looked at people as they walked by. Riley is doing so much better, but he still gets scared in new situations, so needs a patient and loving foster or adopter. He has done fine with other dogs so far, and can be tested again. He weighs about 50-55 lbs. He is currently in California but can be transported to Colorado. Please email for an application.

Hi, I’m Poppy! I’m a super friendly girl who loves meeting new people and making new friends wherever I go. I’ve got a happy, playful personality and am always ready for my next adventure. One of my favorite things is splashing around in the kiddie pool, so if your idea of a perfect day includes the beach, a lake, or anywhere with water, I just might be your perfect sidekick! I also have a dog friend here at the shelter and love having a playful buddy to romp around with. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion who’s always up for an adventure, loves making friends, and is ready to bring lots of smiles into your life, I’d love to meet you.

Clarence is 72 lbs of pure LOVE.Meet Clarence — a 1-year-old Boxer dreamboat who is ready to be someone’s whole world. He’s great on leash and calm in his kennel or play area. He has some friends he hangs out with here, like Luna. He’s also a day trip favorite who gets a lot of positive attention! But what Clarence really wants? You.He’ll lean his sweet red self against your legs and gaze up into your eyes while you pet him. Volunteers say it best: “he just melts into you.” And trust us… it only takes one walk to fall head over heels. He’s playful, gentle, and has that steady, family-dog energy. Though Clarence is always a gentleman and well mannered, when it’s time to head back to his kennel after a walk, he softly resists. He looks up at you with those big brown eyes that seem to say, “Please don’t put me back. I just want to stay with you.”Clarence is breaking our hearts — but he doesn’t have to. He just needs someone to choose him.He needs a home with no cats or small animals.Come meet Clarence at our Goleta shelter on Overpass Rd. You`ll see what we all see.

Story
Hi there! My name is Mango and I'm a 2 month old Female Boxer currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home! Life is one big adventure, and I'm ready to experience it all! I'm a young puppy with lots of energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the world around me. Whether it's exploring new places, playing with toys, learning new skills, or spending time with my people, I'm always excited to be part of the action. Like all puppies, I'm still learning the ropes and will need a family that's committed to helping me grow into a happy, well-mannered adult dog. That means continuing my potty training, crate training, socialization, and basic manners. A consistent routine, positive reinforcement, and plenty of patience will help me build confidence and succeed! I will also need daily physical exercise and mental enrichment to keep my busy puppy brain engaged. Think: walks, training sessions, puzzle toys, playtime, and opportunities to learn new things. The good news is that you won't have to do it alone. SBH offers puppy classes to help set both of us up for success and provide guidance as I continue learning and growing! If you're looking for a playful companion who's ready to fill your home with laughter, adventure, and lots of love, I might just be the one. Like all animals at Santa Barbara Humane, before going home I will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption also includes a complimentary post-adoption health exam with a participating local veterinary clinic as well as a supply of Hill's Science Diet food to help make my first few days at home a little easier. If you're ready to welcome me or another animal into your family, stop by during adoption hours—daily from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Wednesdays. No appointment or advance notice is required! Need to pick up a few essentials before heading home? Visit the retail center at either Santa Barbara Humane campus, where you'll find toys, treats, collars, leashes, and more at competitive prices. Every purchase helps support the animals in our care and the programs that serve pets and people throughout our community. We hope to see you soon!
