Story
This dog is on our `Call to Action` list because his handlers are limited to our more skilled staff and volunteers. This limitation is necessary for the safety of the dog, volunteers, and staff - but it also means his opportunities for enrichment and social interaction can be limited as well. The need for careful handling is because Cassadano has a low tolerance for body handling - sometimes when petting or touching him, he turns and snaps. Usually, it doesn’t seem like he is committed to a hard bite, more like a warning to get you to stop, but it is a bite nonetheless. He has been in our care going on 2 years in March 2026. No one has been able to take on a dog like him. He’s won over many staff and volunteers with his fun-loving, goofy personality and his exceptional playfulness with other large dogs. He has probably helped our playgroup team evaluate hundreds of dogs, if not more! It’s heartbreaking to see him grow up in a shelter, it’s no place for a dog to live long term. We hope there is someone who is willing to see past his initial unwillingness to be pet, take it slow like we have over the last year or so, and let Cassadano come around in his own time. @vcanimalservices Cassadano, the boxer mix who LOVES other dogs ?? If you’ve got a rowdy dog at home who wants a playmate, Casso is a perfect candidate. If you are looking for a goober of a dog who will put a smile on your face every single day, Cassa D is the MAN. Cassadano has spent nearly a year in shelter. He can be wary of strangers, and is not the most cuddly dog out there, so is unfortunately passed over. ?? He appreciates meeting new humans slowly, but is well worth the time spent to become his friend. And if you’ve got treats… it may not take that much time at all! The best way to learn more about Cassadano is to come meet him at the shelter, but you can find him our website too at vcas.us/dogs. Currently located at 600 Aviation Drive, Camarillo CA. Adoption hours: Tues-Sunday 1PM-6PM Full adoption process explained at vcas.us/adopt

Story
Hello there, My name is Lola, I am a 6-year-old Boxer/ Pitbull mix and I`m here to share myself with you.You see, my heart is like a treasure chest – filled with potential, love, and the promise of a beautiful connection. I`ve had my share of challenges, but I`m ready to open up and show you the sweet, loving side that`s been waiting to shine.I am cautious around strangers, especially men, and prefer to live in a household with only adults as children make me nervous. I believe in the power of patience, kindness, and the possibility of healing. With the right approach, I know I can learn to trust and open my heart to the right person. A home where understanding and compassion thrive, creating an environment where I can truly flourish.Contact SPARC to set up a meet-and-greet – let`s create a chapter of our tale that`s filled with understanding, patience, and the promise of a connection that heals and uplifts. I`m here, ready to take the first step toward a brighter future with you. Let`s make this heartwarming journey together!

Story
Hi, I’m Roxy! I just recently made a new dog friend!! The staff here loves me so much they are helping me to make new friends. I’m the kind of pup who loves long walks, and I can’t resist sniffing everything along the way—it’s one of my favorite things! Once I trust you, I’m super affectionate and love to cuddle up close. Treats are my weakness, and I’m always happy to show off my skills for a yummy snack. If you’re looking for a loyal and loving companion, I just might be your perfect match! If you want to get to know me just a little more come down to Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center and say hello! ????

If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application.Hi, I'm Leche, a mostly Boxer, Siberian Husky and German Shepherd with some American Pit Bull and Australian Shepherd. I had a DNA test done if you hadn't guessed. I was rescued from Animal Services and I'll always be grateful to CARL for being given a chance at finding my forever home. I was found as a stray with an injured front leg. I've since had surgery to repair my leg and I'm ready for my forever home. I would do best in a home with older children or adults and in a single dog home. I need lots of physical and mental stimulation. I love car rides, running, walking and most of all snuggling! If you are looking for a sweet shadow, it's me! I will follow you to the end of time.If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application.November 7, 2024, 11:05 am

Story
Breed: Boxer / Pit Bull X DOB: 6/2022 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: medium Color(s): brown / white Description:Hi, I'm Sadie, a very active Boxer / Pit Bull X in need of a new home as I don't always get along with the cats in the home.I am very well-mannered and friendly with people. I am fearful of loud noises and therefore would do best in a quiet home. I need daily exercise and I'd make a great running partner as I love to run. I also enjoy playing ball and frisbee. I'm house and crate trained and have had formal training and know basic commands such as 'Come' and 'Sit'. 'Stay' is a work in progress.I am not good with small dogs and it's unknown if I'm good with large dogs. I do well with older children but I've not been around younger kids.If you're an active individual or family and are looking for a furry friend, please fill out an online application to meet me.June 14, 2025, 11:22 am
