Story
Hi, I’m Poppy! I’m a super friendly girl who loves meeting new people and making new friends wherever I go. I’ve got a happy, playful personality and am always ready for my next adventure. One of my favorite things is splashing around in the kiddie pool, so if your idea of a perfect day includes the beach, a lake, or anywhere with water, I just might be your perfect sidekick! I also have a dog friend here at the shelter and love having a playful buddy to romp around with. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion who’s always up for an adventure, loves making friends, and is ready to bring lots of smiles into your life, I’d love to meet you.

Story
MEET JAZZ, a handsome, loving, 6-year-old black Pit Bull Terrier mix (likely mixed with Boxer) in need of a foster or forever home. He is currently in Northern Minnesota. Jazz has been waiting for awhile and keeps getting overlooked, but he's so deserving of a home! He's friendly & loyal once he has bonded. He can be a bit shy in the beginning, but that wears off quickly. He's playful, smart, protective, brave, curious, athletic, independent and handsome. He will make a good couch potato once he knows he's home. Jazz would do best in an adult-only home with people who really want to give a home to a dog in need. He promises he won't disappoint. He will make a good protector, because of his unwaivering loyalty. He doesn't demand a lot of attention or affection, but he certainly welcomes it. He originally was rescued from a California high-kill shelter in the nick of time. Jazz recently completed some wonderful training in Minnesota and is now doing well with other dogs. His ideal adopter would be an experienced single person or couple who wants a faithful companion. He loves the outdoors and loves to run around, and would be happy to go for walks and hikes with you. He weighs about 55 lbs. If you can foster or adopt Jazz, please email for an application.

Story
MEET RILEY, a 3-1/2-year-old Boxer-Shepherd mix in need of a foster or forever home! Riley was rescued in the nick of time from a crowded California shelter where he was pretty terrified... He sat in the back of the kennel and looked at people as they walked by. Riley is doing so much better, but he still gets scared in new situations, so needs a patient and loving foster or adopter. He has done fine with other dogs so far, and can be tested again. He weighs about 50-55 lbs. He is currently in California but can be transported to Colorado. Please email for an application.

I`ve had my share of challenges, but I`m ready to open up and show you the sweet, loving side that`s been waiting to shine.I am cautious around strangers, especially men, and prefer to live in a household with only adults as children make me nervous. I believe in the power of patience, kindness, and the possibility of healing. With the right approach, I know I can learn to trust and open my heart to the right person. A home where understanding and compassion thrive, creating an environment where I can truly flourish.Contact SPARC to set up a meet-and-greet – let`s create a chapter of our tale that`s filled with understanding, patience, and the promise of a connection that heals and uplifts. Name: RoxyAge: 4 years oldWeight: 55 lbsRelationship Status: Looking for a calm, steady relationshipAbout Me:I’m Roxy — a sweet, strong-minded girl with a relaxed outlook on life and a heart that loves deeply. At 55 pounds, I’m the perfect mix of loyal companion and laid-back best friend. While some dogs dream of nonstop adventures, I’m more of a “short walk, cozy evening, and quality time together” kind of girl.I enjoy getting outside and exploring, but I prefer life at a slower pace. Leisurely strolls, peaceful routines, and relaxing with my favorite people are more my style than all-day chaos and constant activity. When it comes to friendships, I can be selective. I do best with calm, balanced larger male dogs and appreciate thoughtful introductions. I’m happiest in a stable environment where everyone respects each other’s space and energy.I bond closely with my people and truly thrive on companionship, affection, and consistency. I’m also very food-motivated, so continued training and bonding time together sound like a perfect date to me.What I’m Looking For:A calm, understanding home without young children where I can settle in comfortably and enjoy predictable routines. I’m searching for someone who appreciates a loyal, low-energy companion with a big heart and a loving soul.Think we could be a match? Reach out to SPARC and ask to meet Roxy.

Story
Echo is one of the sweetest souls we've met. Although she's been looking for her forever home for over 1,000 days, she greets every morning with the biggest smile and warmest eyes you could imagine. She is bouncy, fun, loving, and would love a home to call her own. While she is a very high energy pup, she's also been known to steal an office chair (and your heart) and cuddle up for a long day of work. This girl has almost 3 years of training under her belt. She knows sit, stay, drop, free, down, side lay, and can take a bath and get her nails trimmed with ease. Help us make Echo One Less Lonely Girl! She can't wait to meet you!

These pups are in Ojai, California too!

Story
This 7 - 8 year old senior girl is the sweetest most loving dog! Nani is an easy, quiet, low maintenance girl. She loves all people, particularly children. Nani was lucky enough to be in a foster home for a few months. She was so happy and loved her fosters particularly the little boy. Nani and the 4 year old were best friends and cuddle buddies. What Nani loves the most is to be around her humans. When she sees the people she loves she does a little happy to see you dance that is so sweet and makes you laugh. Once she gets to know you, she will smother you with kisses. She loves to be scratched and loves to lay next to you. Nani doesn't require a lot of activity in her life, just a place where she can play, and sleep. She likes her walks but they don't have to be very long. She is a little reactive on leash with other dogs but easy to redirect. Nani loves the beach and had such fun at the beach with her friends Veronica and her 8 year old daughter. Nani would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She's a very chill, relaxed lady. Please consider fostering or adopting this precious girl. She would be so very grateful! Story
Faith is a sweet and snuggly 6 month old pit bull mix puppy. She was found in the desert abandoned and alone, left to starve with her sister Hope. Rescued by good samaritans, AFLAR took them into our rescue and nursed them back to health. As Faith recovers she is becoming outgoing and confident. She loves to play with her sister and chase her enthusiastically around the house! She loves her toys particularly her Tibetan butter stick which she happily carries around. She is starting to talk with little squeaks and grumbles as she plays and cuddles and discovers the world. She loves to snuggle with her sister and her foster mom. If your looking for a playful, affectionate and outgoing little puppy who is becoming more confident by the day Faith is your girl. To adopt Faith please send an application. www.allforloveanimalrescue.orh/adoption-application

Story
Burt is one of the sweetest, gentlest dogs you'll ever meet. This adorable American Bully/English Bulldog mix weighs about 55 pounds and has the cutest short little legs, a roly-poly body, and a face that will melt your heart.Burt's family loved him dearly, but had to leave the country and were forced to surrender him to the shelter. Even during such a confusing time, Burt's loving personality never changed. He was a favorite among the shelter staff, passed every dog introduction with ease, and charmed everyone he met with his calm, friendly nature. When Burt ran out of time at the shelter, our rescue couldn't let this wonderful boy lose his chance. We brought him to safety, had him neutered, and completed corrective entropion surgery on both of his eyes. His eyes are now bright, comfortable, and free of the constant watering he experienced before.Today, Burt is waiting patiently in boarding near Hesperia, California, where he has become the "King of the Kennel." The entire staff adores him, and it's easy to see why. He's playful, gentle, incredibly loyal, and just enough of a clown to keep you laughing every day. Whether he's making you smile with his silly antics or quietly lying by your side, Burt simply wants to be loved—and he'll return that love a hundred times over.Adoption Fee: $300If you'd like to give Burt the forever home he deserves, please email Alphadogpetrescue@yahoo.com to request an adoption application.
