Story
Hi, I’m Zeus! I’m a handsome 3-year-old, 78-pound neutered male Boxer Mix, and I’m ready to find my forever person! I’m a big guy with a friendly heart, a brave spirit, and plenty of personality to share. ⦁ I’m friendly, loyal, and quick to learn, especially when treats and positive encouragement are involved. ⦁ I do well with other dogs and enjoy having my people around, while also being comfortable with some independence. ⦁ I’m housebroken, potty trained, crate trained, and walk nicely on leash. ⦁ I ride well in the car and can be left alone comfortably. ⦁ I love stretching my legs with walks, running, hiking, sniffing adventures, and outdoor exploring. ⦁ My favorite rewards include crunchy biscuits, peanut butter snacks, and jerky treats. ⦁ Give me a soccer ball, tennis ball, squeaky toy, or plush toy, and I’m ready for fun! When adventure time is over, I’m happy relaxing in a cozy pet bed, soft blankets, my crate, or even under the furniture. I especially love head bumps, ear scratches, chin scratches, head pats, being talked to, and greeting my favorite people. 🏡 My Ideal Home I’d love a patient, understanding family that will give me daily walks, playtime, human interaction, moderate exercise, and plenty of mental enrichment. I’ll also need regular nail trims and ear cleaning. My fun quirk? After all my exploring, I sometimes like to tuck myself under furniture for a cozy little hideaway! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s ready for walks, road trips, playtime, and plenty of love, please apply to adopt me today! For more information on how to adopt, please call the shelter at 863 324 5227 to see if this pet is still available for adoption. Then come to the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 10:30 to 6 Tuesday through Friday and 10:30 to 4 on Saturday, closed 1-2 for lunch and the last Friday of every month.

Story
Contact: Alisa8/21/2026 - Pablo is a sweet, gentle, affectionate boy whose perfect day is pretty simple: relaxing inside, curling up on the couch, and staying close to his people. He absolutely loves attention and will happily snuggle up beside you for as long as you let him. One of the cutest things about him is how much he smiles when he is getting pets, and when he gets really excited, he curls his whole body into what we have started calling his little “cheese curl.” Pablo is deaf, so he relies heavily on visual cues and being able to see where his people are. He loves sleeping in bed, lounging on the couch, following his people around the house, and generally being wherever you are. He is much more comfortable at home than out in the world right now. He is not currently a farmers market, brewery, or long-walk kind of dog. In unfamiliar outdoor environments, he can be hesitant and may stop, look around, or decide he would rather head back home. He needs someone patient who will let him build confidence at his own pace. He has done well using a fenced backyard for potty breaks and is happiest when his person comes outside with him. A quieter home with a fenced yard would probably suit him better than a busy downtown environment. When Pablo gets nervous, his response is to freeze, hesitate, or retreat rather than act aggressively. He has been incredibly gentle with people and really seems to come alive once he feels safe and knows he can settle in for some attention. As far as we can tell, he has not had much formal training and does not yet seem to know basic cues such as sit, stay, come, or look at me. Because he is deaf, he will need someone willing to patiently teach him a consistent set of hand signals. He would also benefit from continued work on confidence, being comfortable alone, and crate training. He is not especially food- or toy-motivated, although frozen dog ice cream and meatballs have definitely won him over. More than anything, his favorite reward seems to be being close to his people and getting affection. Because Pablo previously had a negative experience with other dogs, we believe a single-dog home would likely be the best fit for him. His history with cats is unknown. Pablo really is a loving homebody. He does not need an adventurous lifestyle. He needs a quiet, patient home, a comfortable couch, a safe yard, and someone who wants a very affectionate companion. If your perfect dog is a smiling little shadow who would rather spend Saturday morning curled up next to you than at the farmers market, Pablo may be your guy. ❤️ 7/30/2026 - Pablo is under our mandatory evaluation period, and is not available for adoption at this time. The foster home will have the opportunity to adopt once the evaluation period is complete.  If you would like to be a back-up applicant for Pablo, please complete an application at:   http://flbr.org/application-form/.  Please also take a look at his available boxer friends as we get to know him better. September 5, 2026, 2:52 pm

EXERCISE NEEDS: Daily Workout EASE OF TRAINING: Eager FRIENDLINESS WITH PEOPLE: Outgoing PLAYFULNESS: Semi-Pro FRIENDLINESS WITH DOGS: Prefers People LEASH MANNERS: Pulls Sometimes If you are looking for a dog who will be your absolute shadow and best friend, look no further than Krieg. This two-year-old Bully mix is the definition of a gentle giant when it comes to his human friends. His favorite thing in the world is simply being near people; whether he’s greeting you with a full-body wiggle or leaning his heavy head against your knee for a "hug," he makes sure you know exactly how much he appreciates your company. He is a world-class snuggler who would happily spend his entire afternoon curled up on the couch right beside you. While he certainly loves a good nap, Krieg also has a wonderful, goofy side that comes out during playtime. He is a total toy expert and gets incredibly focused when his favorites are involved, making him a joy to watch. He is also a star pupil whenever snacks are on the table; his high treat-motivation makes him a fast learner and a pleasure to engage with. He truly lives for affection and will often give you a gentle nudge if he thinks you’ve stopped the ear scratches a little too soon. Krieg has found the hustle and bustle of the shelter environment a bit stressful, and as a result, he is looking for a home where he can be the only dog. He is ready to soak up all your attention for himself, and in return, he’ll give you a lifetime of loyalty and devoted companionship. Krieg is a resilient, loving soul who is more than ready to trade his kennel for a real home. If you have room in your heart—and plenty of space on your sofa—for a big marshmallow of a dog, Krieg is waiting to meet you.
