She’s part Boxer, so she is very playful and loves using her paws to communicate and show affection. Roux is 8 years old and was originally adopted in Sanford. She has been a wonderful companion loves unconditionally. We are making the very difficult decision to rehome Roux due to major life changes, including having two very young children (8 mo and 2 yrs old) and limited space in our home. The environment has become overwhelming for everyone involved, including Roux, and we want to prioritize her long-term happiness and comfort. Roux would do best as the only pet in a calm, adult-focused home where she can receive plenty of attention and structure. She thrives when she has a consistent routine and strong bond with her person. This decision comes from a place of love. We are committed to finding a home where she can flourish.

Roux is a wonderful dog. She will be 9 this May. She loves taking long walks and playing fetch. She’s very high energy. She would probably do best in a home with adults where she’s the only dog. She’s not aggressive, but she doesn’t really like to play with other dogs in the home because she gets very possessive of her territory. She does fine in dog parks because it’s neutral ground. Kids make her very anxious and unable to relax because she constantly feels the need to protect and guard them. She would definitely be happiest in an active household with adults who can give her plenty of exercise. It’s gotten so hard with my children to give her the attention and care she needs. I want her to have the best life she can!
