Hi, I’m Claire, a 3monthold Boxer mix weighing 16.6 pounds, and I’m every bit the adventurous puppy my name suggests. I love exploring new spaces, greeting the world with wideeyed curiosity, and being part of whatever my people are doing. I’m hoping to find a family who enjoys a spirited little sidekick and thinks a puppy named Claire is the perfect addition to their home. Favorite Things: Claire’s happiest moments come from play. She loves her toys, especially soft ones she can carry around, and she throws herself into games with full puppy enthusiasm. Her joy is rooted in movement, exploration, and the thrill of discovering something new. Training and Manners: Claire is a clever, communicative puppy who learns quickly and loves using her bright little brain. Her food motivation makes training easier, and she’s already practicing her “sit” and “down” with impressive focus. She’s learning to wait politely for meals leash training and is beginning to understand simple routines. She sleeps comfortably in her secure nighttime space and, like many puppies, can be vocal when she feels overlooked, though she’s improving with gentle consistency. Health and Care: Claire is up to date on her age-appropriate vaccines. She will need remaining vaccines and her spay at the appropriate time. These services are included in her adoption donation and will need to be done at one of our partnering veterinarians in Central FL. Claire is in great health and will just need her monthly flea and heartworm preventative. She should be low maintenance, and the occasional bath and nail trim should keep her looking and feeling her best. Other Animals: Claire has experience with large dogs and enjoys playful interactions when they match her energy. She’s still learning boundaries and does best with supervised play and gentle guidance when she gets too enthusiastic. She hasn’t been tested with cats, and her lively curiosity may feel overwhelming to them. A patient dog companion with similar energy would suit her well. Children: Claire would be best with children 8 and older. She’s still in her puppybiting phase, and those tiny teeth can catch even prepared hands by surprise. With steady guidance, she’ll learn gentler ways to interact, and older kids often appreciate her goofy charm and affectionate personality. Ideal Home: Claire thrives in a singlefamily home with a fenced yard where she can run and stretch her legs. She can be vocal at times, so a home without shared walls suits her well. She prefers having someone home more often as she’s still learning independence and feels comforted by company. Hey! I’m Brady — part Shepherd, part Boxer, and 100% eager to win your heart.Before I came to HALO, I spent time at another shelter where life was tough. We only got outside for a short time once a day, and since I’m house trained, I’d get anxious waiting, worried I’d mess up my kennel. I tried so hard to be good — I’m the kind of dog who overthinks how to make you happy.Even in that stressful place, I lit up when someone came to see me — like they came just for me. I loved going for walks with volunteers and had the best time on park trips, taking in all the new sights and smells. I even liked choosing my own toy from the box! I did well in playgroups — while I wasn’t the wild type, I kept up with the best of ’em and took breaks when things got too rowdy. I was always friendly with both men and women, and even rode calmly in the car with a young couple once, just taking it all in.My first home before the shelter wasn’t very kind either. There was yelling and rough handling, so I really value kind, gentle people. If you see the best in me, I will always see the best in you!Recently, I spent some time in a home again and showed that while I have a lot of love to give, I can be a bit too interested in cats — I tend to chase and corner them, so I’d be happiest in a cat-free home. I can also be a little mouthy when I get excited, so I’d do best with kids around 8 or older who can handle my playful energy.I’m a sweet, loyal guy who just wants to love and be loved. Kiki is a young and pretty girl who would love an adopter that will play with her! She's the perfect blend of snuggly and playful. Kiki is a bit shy/scared when meeting new people but wants to warm up. Her adopter will need to be patient with Kiki as she is shy and has never been inside of a house. Kiki and 30 other dogs were seized by law enforcement and their previous owner charged with animal cruelty and dog fighting. The dogs all lived outside on heavy chains without access to food and water. Because Kiki has never lived inside or had a loving owner she'll need help with basic skills like potty training. But Kiki doesn't need help learning how to play! She loves to play fetch and race around the play yard with volunteers that she's learned to trust. She is one of the smartest dogs that we've ever worked with and would love to do activities like agility, scentwork etc after she's able to build more confidence. At this time Kiki needs to be either an only pet or be in a household that will separate Kiki from other pets until she's decompressed.

Meet Spartacus! We rescued him from a local shelter about three years ago, and he has been the sweetest companion ever since. He has never shown any aggression toward people and has always been gentle, loving, and well behaved. He is fully house-trained and potty-trained, making him an incredibly easy dog to care for. He isn’t destructive, doesn’t ask for much, and is happy as long as he has food, a cozy place to rest, and people who love him. This is one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make, but with our current work schedules and family responsibilities, he spends most of the day home alone. We know he deserves more time, attention, and companionship than we can give him right now. We’re looking for a loving, permanent home where he can be part of the family and receive the love he deserves. He is truly an amazing dog, and we know he will bring so much happiness to whoever is lucky enough to adopt him.

Roofus is a sweet, energetic, silly boy who loves to play, be with his humans, eat, and chew his toys. He loves other dogs, including small dogs, but he will want to play with them so if your pup doesn't like to play, it may not be a good match. Roofus had an incident with one of my children and this is unfortunately why we have to re-home him. With that being said, he is not an aggressive dog, we just believe he would be happiest in a home without young children (teenagers would be perfectly fine). Roofus would thrive in an active family that love to take him on long walks/runs!
