Story
Hi! My name is Jax, and I’m a 4 year boxer/pit mix who weighs 50 lbs. I’m super sweet and absolutely love being around people. I’m very much a cuddle bug (and think I’m a lap dog). I’ve also been very happy playing with other dogs. Cats have not been my favorite though. Walks are one of my favorite things and I walk well on a leash. I also love running around in the yard and playing fetch with tennis balls. They’re cool, but my absolute favorite are stuffies that squeak. I can entertain myself with them but also will beg to play tug of war. I’m also super smart and already know sit, lie down, stay, crate, right, come, and paw. I’m energetic and active but also settle fast and am happy to cuddle or sleep in my bed. Although, I have separation anxiety and get stressed when alone, so I would do best in a home where I’m not alone for too long. Sometimes, I let out a light growl when a door opens into the house or a room. It seems like I do it out of caution, but immediately relax once I know who it is. I tend to be a little more weary of men than women in that regard. I currently sleep in my bed next to my foster mom’s bed, but should do fine in a crate in the room as well. If you would like to meet me, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Olive is a three-year-old boxer mix. She currently weighs in at 46 pounds and could use a few more pounds on her frame. The vet thinks 50 pounds would be her ideal weight. What a gem this girl is! She knows how to sit, shake and takes treats very gently from your hand. She's great on a leash and loves to go for walks. Olive is housebroken and crate trained. She really doesn't need to be crated. She has great house manners. She loves to watch the world go by from the bench by my living room window or from the bed in my guest room. She loves to take a snooze on the dog beds here but would like it even more if her forever home would let her on the couch. Olive would be a great companion for another mellow dog or a wonderful companion for a human looking for a new friend. She'd be fine with kids as well. Olive may have a prey drive for smaller animals, so she should not go to a home with a little dog or cats. Olive loves to be around her people and soaks up all the love and attention she can get. If you'd like to hear more about this sweet girl or to possibly meet her, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. Her adoption fee is $275 and she's being fostered in Cary. Olive is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Meet Scrappy! Scrappy is an 8 year old male American Bully who has lost his home due to no fault of his own. He is now looking for a forever family to bring him home and spoil him! Scrappy is a sweet boy, who has bursts of energy but is overall content to lounge around the house with his family. He has lived with cats, children, and female dogs without issue. Story
Who doesn't love a Big Mac? 🍔🍟 Reportedly found outside of a McDonalds, this big beefcake promptly received the name Big Mac -- and it fits so well. Big Mac is an older adult (maybe 6 years old?) Pit/Bully mix who was a stray and never reclaimed by an owner. He is a very sweet, but sensitive boy who took a lot of time to adjust to life in the shelter. After getting comfortable here, he has begun to thrive and enjoys toys, dress up, and snuggles from staff. As he started off very stressed and fearful here, we haven't proceeded with official dog and cat testing, but so far based on behavior here he would likely be fine with dogs, but we think he would do best in a home without kitties. Big Mac is housetrained, and keeps his kennel nice and clean here. He also rides well in the car. Due to his sensitive nature, we think he would do best in an adult only home. His adoption fee is $150, he will be neutered prior to leaving the shelter, is vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Big Mac is looking for adopters OR rescue placement. Please stop by to meet Big Mac during our normal open business hours, or call or email 630-553-9256 or animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov with any questions.
