Ruby is a small but mighty queen! She is dog selective, she does well with dogs her size and smaller but we have been working on her confidence with dogs slightly bigger and have made a lot of progress! She would do best in a home with older kids as she is a little timid. Don’t let her size fool you, she has a lot of pep in her step but will do anything for a treat! She is so sweet once you take the time for her to let her guard down.? Ruby turned 3 years old in December. She is a mix who weighs less than 40 lbs.

Story
Kemper is a senior boxer/shepherd (maybe hound) mix about 10 years old who was abandoned with elderly family members of his owner. He is too strong for them to handle, and he does not care for their cats, so they had to part ways. He received our customary vetting plus a senior blood panel and a dental. He is super affectionate and just wants to hang out with his family. A fenced yard would be great as he is a puller when on a leash … he has places to go and ground to sniff 🤪

    Monty 18 months old, good boy, takes a bit to warm up. Monty was adopted as a puppy during the shut down from COVID. When things opened up, his adopter surrendered him to animal control - due to no time. Since Monty's formative months he was in quarantine with his adopter and was not socialized well. He just needs a home to help him be the best he can be.  Once he knows you he is a great boy with lots of energy to run and play :) We require   that you have a fenced in yard, not a "kennel" in the yard AND we do not approve underground fencing. Depending upon the dog some exceptions are made for those who live in apartments.   We also require that the adoptee will be a part of the family "living" within the home. Jax is a 5 year old male Boxer / American Pit Bull Terrier mix that has been at AWL since 11/18/20. Jax is a work in progress that would thrive with someone with extra time/patience. Jax enjoys playing fetch and will gladly sit for treats! Jax needs help with leash manners, as he likes to nip at the lead. AWL currently uses a chain to transport Jax from his kennel to outside play area. Jax is looking for his best friend. Could that be you?
