Story

Meet Baxter!Baxter originally came to us as a stray puppy, was adopted, but then later returned in his adult years as he did not quite understand his size or strength around younger children. He is still very much a big, goofy pup at heart, but would do best in a home with older children who can help him feel safe and give him space when he gets wound up.This sweet boy is incredibly affectionate once he is comfortable. He loves being around his people, giving kisses, and being close to them. He can be a bit fearful of men at first, so a patient and understanding home that will help him build confidence at his own pace, would be great for him! While Baxter is an adult, being back at the shelter has been a little hard for him when it comes to building back a routine to potty outside, so he does have a few accidents in his kennel. To help him succeed, he would love a home with a more consistent routine and positive reinforcement once being in a new environment. We are unaware of how he does with other dogs or cats, so proper introductions are important to make sure everyone gets along well together. We haven`t had many opportunities to test him as he still recovering from a double knee surgery. If you are looking for a loving and goofy companion and are willing to continue to help him grow into his best self, Baxter is ready for a fresh start and someone who sees just how special he is. If you would be interested in looking to adopt Baxter, please fill out an adoption application on our website.

Story

Silly wiggle butt looking for her very own forever.Name: FidgyAge: 3 years youngBreed: Boxer MixRelationship Status: Single and searching for her forever family!Currently Staying: AHeinz57 Pet RescueFidgy is a fun-loving, medium-sized girl with the heart of a teddy bear, the enthusiasm of a toddler at a birthday party, and the occasional sound effects of a dolphin. (She may have some Frenchie in her somewhere.)She`s approximately 50% wiggles, 40% snuggles, and 10% noises nobody has successfully identified. She loves people! Making new friends is kind of her thing, especially if you happen to have snacks. She may be a little bouncy when you first meet, but give her a chance to settle in and you`ll discover her softer side. She`s a total sweetheart who loves curling up beside her favorite humans, soaking up affection and taking all the cuddles she can get. She`s looking for a family with a good sense of humor, lots of love, and room for one wonderfully goofy girl!Older kiddos would be her best match, and she prefers a kitty-free home. She can have some mouthy play when she is excited, but takes redirection. She wants to please and would benefit with obedience training.A home without shared walls would also be ideal because she sometimes has some unique vocalizations. Was she the lead vocalist of a girl band in a past life? Possibly. As with all of our adoptables, a meet n greet with all resident family members, furry and not so furry is needed to make sure its a great match. Fidgy has been participating in our playgroups with our other on-site adoptables and has been having a great time. She is a little intimated by larger dogs, but really, its all about personalities. She`s hoping for a person or family who will appreciate her quirky personality, her silly butt wiggles and who will help her keep learning, and love her for the sweet, silly girl she is.Fidgy is on-site at our rescue in DeSoto, please reach out to meet her in a playroom or yard, or even better yet, fill out an adoption application today!!

Story

King is an ESA. He will be 6 years old on December 7th. He is a great dog who loves kids. He is not fond of dogs and not sure about cats. HE knows sit, lay down, shake n stay. I love him very much n will miss him when he goes so I am hoping wherever he does go that I can possibly visit once in a while. If not, I truly understand. I have lung disease and my breathing is getting worse so I am unable to walk him because he is a puller. I am looking for a good home for him that preferably has a yard for him to get exercise, someone that will walk him and love him like he deserves to be loved. He is amazing❤️
