Story

Hubbell is a wonderful dog. He's 6.5 and about as chill as can be. I had him for about 2 days before my landlord informed me she is selling our house, and we have had to make the unfortunate decision to re-home him. I didn't want him back at the shelter so we still have him, but we are also still getting to know him! Hubbell loves everyone he meets. He really just wants to snuggle. He's gentle taking treats and has been good around small children so far. He does okay on a leash, and would improve with a little training. Currently, his walks are short as he is being treated for heartworm. He has about 3 months left of his monthly treatment, and I have meds to send with him. He also does well in his kennel and I have a kennel, a bed, a leash and harness to donate, as well as any food or treats I have left. We haven't tested him with other dogs. The shelter said he was shy in play groups, and on walks he seems to want to play. Unsure of cats.

Meet Vivi 💕 Vivi’s journey to safety was anything but easy. For two long weeks, she wandered mile after mile always just out of reach. Each time we thought we had caught up to her, she would disappear again. It wasn’t until a kind family followed her while staying on the phone with Animal Control that we were finally able to bring her to safety. When Vivi was found, she told her story without words. She was severely emaciated, covered in old wounds, and her teeth were worn down to nubs. It was clear she had lived a very hard life, and at first, she was understandably terrified. With medical care, patience, gentle handling, and some much needed weight gain, Vivi has begun to bloom into the dog she was always meant to be. Now, Vivi is an absolute love bug. Every time someone walks past her kennel, she reaches her paw out, asking for attention and pets. In the yard, she happily zooms around—only to end up curled in your lap, soaking up all the affection she can get. She truly craves love and connection. Vivi does well with her kennel neighbor as long as food is not involved, and she has the potential to live with another dog if fed separately. We haven’t been able to test her with cats, so her reaction to them is currently unknown. Based on her condition when found, we suspect Vivi may have been used for breeding in the past, and while we may never know everything she’s endured, we do know this: she is incredibly resilient, and ready for a safe, loving home. Vivi deserves a family who will show her what kindness feels like and in return, she will give endless love, loyalty, and cuddles. 🐾💗

But that won’t stop this sassy spy from finding a new, furever family! Gertie needs your help to complete these objectives so that she can find her perfect fit. Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to help share her post and connect her with the perfect person. 🚫👧🏻 No Other Girl Dogs Please. Gertie’s previous life involved no socialization with other dogs, isolation, and spending most of her first year of life in a crate. She has been kicking butt and doing great with male dogs though! She loves to play rough and rowdy and would love a new friend who does the same. 👶🏻No young children. Gertie works best with older agents, as she does food guard. We are actively working on making her feel secure that no evil forces will steal her food again, but feeding her away from other pets and in a crate has been a safe space for her. 💪Gertie is super strong and does pull on the leash. She loves to parkour and zip around the yard for exercise. She enjoys wrestling and swimming to keep herself in tip top evil-butt-kicking condition!
