Meet Vivi 💕 Vivi’s journey to safety was anything but easy. For two long weeks, she wandered mile after mile always just out of reach. Each time we thought we had caught up to her, she would disappear again. It wasn’t until a kind family followed her while staying on the phone with Animal Control that we were finally able to bring her to safety. When Vivi was found, she told her story without words. She was severely emaciated, covered in old wounds, and her teeth were worn down to nubs. It was clear she had lived a very hard life, and at first, she was understandably terrified. With medical care, patience, gentle handling, and some much needed weight gain, Vivi has begun to bloom into the dog she was always meant to be. Now, Vivi is an absolute love bug. Every time someone walks past her kennel, she reaches her paw out, asking for attention and pets. In the yard, she happily zooms around—only to end up curled in your lap, soaking up all the affection she can get. She truly craves love and connection. Vivi does well with her kennel neighbor as long as food is not involved, and she has the potential to live with another dog if fed separately. We haven’t been able to test her with cats, so her reaction to them is currently unknown. Based on her condition when found, we suspect Vivi may have been used for breeding in the past, and while we may never know everything she’s endured, we do know this: she is incredibly resilient, and ready for a safe, loving home. Vivi deserves a family who will show her what kindness feels like and in return, she will give endless love, loyalty, and cuddles. 🐾💗

Meet Samson 🐾 When we first met Samson, his world was very small. He was tethered to a porch with a heavy tow chain weighed down by locks, covered in fleas, and filthy from being left outdoors. At first, he was understandably wary and protective of the only place he knew as home. But it didn’t take long with some gentle baby talk and a few treats, Samson showed us who he really is, happily eating right out of our hands. Once in our care, Samson was cleaned up, treated for fleas, and given the fresh start he deserved. Today, he’s a confident, independent soul who enjoys his own company. Out in the yard, you’ll often find him content with his ball, doing his own thing and soaking up the peace. Affection with Samson is special because it’s earned. He’s begun seeking out love and pets, but always on his terms. He’s very much a “Mr. Independent” kind of guy who values respect and patience. Samson would do best in a home with older children who understand boundaries, especially when he’s enjoying his toys. He appears to do well with other dogs, though a meet-and-greet is required. We’re unsure how he feels about cats at this time. Hooch is just under a year old and full of puppy energy and personality! He’s a goofy, fun-loving guy who would thrive in an active home. Like most youngsters, he’s still working on some manners, especially jumping and being a little mouthy when excited so a home with older kids (if any) would be best for him. Hooch could do well with other dogs, but a meet and greet would be required to make sure it’s a good fit. When he first entered the kennel in November, he did great meeting other dogs through the kennel gates, but the high stress is getting to him and he's getting mouthy with his neighbor. He is very much a puppy and expresses himself with his mouth and we are working with him so he understands that isn't okay. We would love to find him a home where he will be allowed time to decompress and where his family won't give up on him. The stress of the kennel is taking a big toll on him, and he really needs a family who can give him the time, structure, and love he deserves.
