She loves her humans and wants to be anywhere they are. She loves going on adventures with them. Bella loves side by side rides and also going on the boat. She wears a life jacket that she doesn't mind but is not too sure about the water but does swim when her humans are with her. She doesn't mind her kennel however sleeps with me at night. We are going to start letting her stay out a little at a time because sometimes she will go to sleep by herself on the couch at night and has never chewed on things she is not supposed to. We are working on walking on a leash but she really likes to pull and makes walks a mission. We are going to start training soon to work on this. Bella has a fenced in yard and goes out to do her business but doesn't like to be out much unless she is with someone playing. We are also working on playing fetch and but wasn't too sure about a ball at first! We are getting a little better each time! Bella wants all of your attention. She is good for awhile with another dog but then after awhile that is enough so she needs to go to a home where she is the only one. Bella has a lot of love to give and even gives hugs at random times especially when you get home.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 18, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fostered in Nebraska Myk loves his people which include small children. He loves to play on the rough side with the resident dog which includes some play biting on legs so he would do best with another dog that can handle the play. He would also do great as a solo dog. Myk sits nicely and is very food motivated to learn new things. He is house broken and loves his kennel. Myk does like hearing himself talk so if he outside alone he does bark. Myk is also protective of his home. Any new visitor need a slow intro but he warms up quickly. Myk loves walks and is an active dog for his age. Zoomies are a regular part of his day. Myk also loves a good pile of clean laundry, he needs to make it smell like him again.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 18, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bonded brother to Bubba CoalBoots is a big tall boy but very thin. He knows commands of sit, stay, come, and no  Boots copies the majority of brother Bubba actions and seems to follow Bubba and his behaviors. Boots does not tell foster mom when he needs to go outside but when outside  he is all business to do his business. No accidents in the house.   Boots and foster mom are working on leash walking and how to stay with foster mom on the left side and follows moms pace. Boots is more concerned with surroundings and loses focus. Boots does not get the what the deal is with dog toys and has no interest.  Boots sleeps on a dog bed  next to foster mom with brother Bubba. . He goes outside at 11:00 then to bed and decides he better get up at 8:30.  Boots is always near by and helpful  in cooking, cleaning, laundry and other household chores. He enjoys hugs and kisses and seems content and satisfied to lay and sleep on the couch while foster mom  watches  morning  TV shows. Boots  leaves all household stuff alone. Boots and brother Bubba will play, run and growl at each other to release energy in the fenced yard. Foster mom has not seen behaviors of flight and will come when called.  Boots is  great company and a true companion. He is accepting of the kennel and walks in without a push.  The  only negative behavior is he is not accepting of cats and does not enjoy their company.  Hopefully with time he will come to accept cats and not feel the need to terrorize and chase.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 18, 2024, 12:09 am

These boys are bonded and would like to stay together. Duke prefers to stay out of the cold and snuggled into a nice warm bed. He is outgoing and somewhat rambunctious for his age. He is very bonded to his brother Tank and cries when he cannot find him. Both Duke and Tank are well mannered in the house and could be left out to roam as long as all food is out of sight.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 18, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Boris joined us from Missouri on March 18th along with his buddy Kane. They have lived together their entire lives. Boris is the elder, at 8 years old.  We were told they both spent too much time in a kennel but did have some sort of backyard. We worried that they would not have good leash skills, but surprisingly Boris does well and has a brisk pace he likes to keep, unless he catches the scent of something too good to pass up and stops for a good sniff of whatever caught his attention. What is currently slowing him down is a bit of a drag/knuckling with his back left paw. It was noticed as soon as he arrived as his nails were bleeding from scraping the concrete. Once we got that under control and found a boot that will stay on him, he really enjoys walks and would go farther if his leg didn't get so tired. So, we have dialed it back a little, going shorter distances and we also are working on getting some weight off him and doing some red/cold laser treatments at home to see if this all helps him a bit. He does stairs well, but I would use caution later in the day if he has been active as his leg may get tired.  Boris is incredibility agile for his size. He gets on and off the couch, chair, ottoman, or your lap. He truly believes if he fits, he sits!  Boris likes toys. He has been caught rummaging his snoot through the dog toy box searching for what he wants to entertain himself with. He enjoys tennis balls also and will bound across carpeted areas to get to one if you play with him. He doesn't exactly bring it back to you but does seem to enjoy playing “keep away” once he has it in his mouth. We are not sure how he would be with other dogs up close. He tolerates his buddy, Kane, very well. At times when walking him he may bark at another dog or completely ignore them. We will need to explore this more with him.  He has greeted people/strangers without any hesitation. He will go up and lick you and expect pets and butt scritches. He craves attention and contact from people. I think he would be fine with children, but because of his size, and he is a little clumsy, he may accidentally step on them, not meaning to cause harm at all. He is a very loving boy.  Boris knows his name, can sit when told and knows how to shake. He is a food hound! He is convinced he is being starved to death, so additional training would be easy since he is so food motivated. We are currently working on “out”, using it to keep him out of the kitchen when we are cooking because he is underfoot hoping something will fall.  Also, if you are eating in front of him, you will see the droplets begin to form at the corner of his mouth and his drool will drip every so often. Using “out” to have him go to the edge of the carpet and telling him to stay until we are done has been effective, he is learning, but he doesn’t give up easily.  He is good going into his kennel, that is when he gets an actual treat. He seems 100% house trained and has not tried to play with anything that isn’t a toy. He spent the night out of the kennel last night and I am pretty sure he was in the exact same position this morning. as when we went to bed.  He has shown zero signs of aggression with people or when being redirected from something he wants, even food. He will allow us to take his food dish away while he is eating.  We are determining if he is truly bonded to Kane or not. He seems to be fine when he is not around. We are experimenting on doing things separately with each of them, instead of everything together so we can figure out what is best for each of them.  He has been to the vet, he did well during his exam and bloodwork. He is heartworm negative! And his blood work looks good, besides dropping a few pounds and getting his teeth and gums taken care of, and figuring out how to help his foot, he is in good health. He is scheduled for his dental appointment in May.  Boris would make a great companion for anyone. He is trained, chill and a whole lotta love in once big package!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 18, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello! My name is Maribel, but I also go by Sugar or Sugs.) I had a bit of a rough start in life, but I'm super healthy and happy now.  My favorite thing to do is play with all of my toys, It's so much fun making my Mommy and Daddy laugh.  I love to have a toy or something in my mouth at all times and this includes treats!  I also love going for walks, cuddling on the couch, sleeping in bed at night with you, and car rides. One thing everyone one should know about me is that I'm SUPER SUPER strong. I had my DNA test done and I am 100% Boxer, that means I love to box, and can jump as high as I need.  I'm doing pretty well with my potty training and haven’t had an accident in over a month. Seems as though I might have to go potty a little more than normal, but I have been checked for a bladder infection and I'm clear of that.  I'm very curious about other dogs and think I would like to have a friend, but it would take some time to get acclimated. At this time I really have no idea about other dogs and once tried to play with a huge Newfoundland  and I got overwhelmed and started boxing.  Having my own yard with a fence would be perfect for me. I will be the right fit for the perfect home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 18, 2024, 12:09 am
