You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Quest was surrendered to the shelter on 5/9/2025 due to rental restrictions. He is 4 years old and was a very loved dog who had lived in his home his whole life. His owners were forced to relocate and couldn't find an affordable place that would accept dogs like him. Quest is a mix of boxer, Doberman, and pit bull, and he is big and strong. He has been fully vetted and microchipped and his fee is $150. Quest did live with his canine sibling in his home and was fine. They grew up together. We do think that he'd prefer to be the only dog in a home right now. No smaller animals for this moose. He's looking for an adult only home. Teens are fine. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Bree is a 10-year-old, female, pure bred Boxer. She is in the process of learning how to be a dog. She was rescued from a puppy mill and had never been out of a cage, so everything was new to her: grass, stairs, carpet, couch, house, etc. However, Bree is loving her new freedom and is making great strides every day. She loves other dogs, cats, people, and Pup cups! Bree is very smart and loving. She is almost fully potty trained and learned in only 2 weeks. Bree is scared of outside noises, such as cars going by on the road, so we haven't taken her for a walk down the road yet. She walks fine around our yard on a leash, but if there's a loud noise, she will try to hide. Bree is a sweet heart who is loving her new life. Doug is in the house!This big, handsome boy is Doug. He came to PCHS when he was found as a stray and no one claim to claim him. While we do not know a lot about his back ground, we do know that he is super friendly, loves people, and has an exceptional enthusiasm for life! Doug is estimated to be a pitty/lab mix and roughly 2 years old. He does know some very basic commands such as sit, he will need some practice with his leash manners. He is a very strong boy and using a harness to walk him would be recommended. Doug is a smart boy and would likely learn more commands with some time and consistency. He would love a fenced in yard where he can run around and burn off some energy, however, we are not requiring it. Doug has not been dog or cat tested at this time. He may be too much for feline friends, but with proper introductions he may do okay with a canine companion. This happy boy is Titan!Titan is a terrier mix breed that is estimated to be around 1 to 2 years old. He is on the medium side and only weighs about 50 pounds. Titan was an owner surrender to a neighboring impound and when there was no more room at the impound, he made his way to us. Titan is a ball of energy and would make a great running or hiking partner! He also is very food motivated and knows some basic commands like sit and wait. He does let his excitement for food get the better of him sometimes as he stole a hotdog off one of our counters! But look at that face! Who can stay mad at that?Titan would love a home that can show him structure, love and stability. He absolutely loves people and attention. We have been told that he is good with other dogs as well as cats, but we have not done our own test to verify that. Karen came to PCHS from a neighboring impound and when that impound became too full, she made her way here. Karen was found as a stray and had a microchip. Unfortunately, that was a dead end and no one ever came to claim her. Karen is as sweet as can be and loves attention from people. She is a gentle soul who is longing to be in a stable forever home. She is around 4 years old and is terrier type mix. She is under 60 pounds so she is not super big either. Karen does not seem to be a big fan of cats or smaller dogs, but she may do well with a submissive canine friend that is her size or bigger. Karen has a big heart and so much love to give.
