Meet Birkley! Weight: ~75–80 lbsBirkley was rescued from a breeding operation along with two other Boxers, one of them, also coming available for adoption is Daisy her sister.(you can see them running together in the attached video.) Because of her background coming from a breeder environment, she is currently scared and still adjusting to shelter life. She’s in very good shape considering what she’s been through and has many loving years left to give.. will just need extra help along the way with all the new things that she’s going to encounter in life. She is a very energetic girl who will need a patient, understanding adopter willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel safe and come out of her shell. If you have the patience and love to help Birkley build her confidence, she`ll make a wonderful companion!$350 adoption fee plus $30 microchip fee plus tax

🍯 Meet Honey 🍯 Honey is equal parts Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Roo, & a bit of Eeyore too. The vibes: Pooh= Lovable, gentle, hungry. Food, honey or any food at all is the best thing ever. Tigger= Cheerful, bouncy, enthusiastic although sometimes a bit reckless Roo= Brave, playful, optimistic Eeyore= Good heart, low-key 💛 Honey is so lovable with her kisses, cuddles, and blocky head. Despite her home instability she stays optimistic and brave, loving and trusting everyone. Her cheer & enthusiasm sends her bouncing high when I get home from work. Playful moments are endless with her bestie, the resident Golden Retriever. When her playful adventures are complete she curls up for a low-key nap. Weaknesses= * prey-drive (she has an unhealthy obsession with backyard chickens in trying to jump their fence or barge through it, she sometimes makes a short sprint towards one of the cats but cuddles with them the next). * obedience (she shows little to no realization that I'm calling her unless I sit on the ground and makes kissy noises, but she does seem to understand "kennel up" for mealtime). * enthusiasm (her bounces can knock you over without realizing, she does the bully breed gargle of excitement when she sees other/new dogs especially if on leash and with paw/play somewhat obnoxiously). Strengths= * Gentle (seeing her with calm, gentle, little humans has literally brought me to tears). * Tolerant (other dogs, including the resident sassy Chihuahua, can get grumpy with her and she backs away calmly, without reacting). * Chill/go with the flow (outside she'll lounge in the sun, inside she'll lounge on the couch or in bed). * Cuteness × infinity. 📍Apply to adopt Honey today at campcompanion.org 💲Adoption fee $450 plus tax

Story
Meet Benny – The Big Goof with an Even Bigger Heart Some dogs are happy just being nearby. Benny wants to be part of everything you do. This affectionate, goofy boy is the definition of a Velcro dog. While he may be a little shy when meeting new people or visiting new places, he warms up within minutes and quickly becomes your biggest fan. Once you're in Benny's circle, you'll have a loyal best friend who wants to share every adventure—and every couch cushion—with you. Benny has a fun-loving personality that perfectly balances playful energy with snuggly affection. Whether he's hiking a trail, splashing in the pool, wrestling with his dog friends, or curled up next to you watching TV, he's simply happiest spending time with the people he loves. Benny Loves: * Being with his people * Playing with other dogs * Swimming and water play * Hiking and outdoor adventures * Car rides * Fetch and tug toys * Sniffing and exploring * Chewing bones * Food puzzles and enrichment * Cuddling on the couch * Sunbathing * Zoomies * Relaxing with his family Benny's Favorite Thing: Being wherever his people are. Benny is happiest when he can tag along for whatever life brings—whether that's an exciting hike or a lazy afternoon at home. And if you're swimming? Be prepared to hold his paws while he stands in the pool with you! He's even started diving underwater to retrieve toys. A Big Softie: Benny may look tough, but he's one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. When he's excited, he makes hilarious Chewbacca-like noises that perfectly match his goofy personality. He loves attention, thrives on affection, and forms incredibly strong bonds with the people he trusts. His foster describes him as funny, loving, and incredibly smart. He's the kind of dog who makes everyone smile just by being himself. A Few Things to Know: * Crate trained * Knows "Sit" * Loves other dogs * Loves children * Can live with cats but plays a little too rough for some feline friends * Medium to high energy * Food and toy motivated * Smart and eager to learn * Pulls on leash * Jumps when excited * May bark when excited or meeting new people * Can be nervous in unfamiliar places but warms up quickly * Strong prey drive * Must always be securely leashed or harnessed, as he can slip out if not properly secured * Best suited for an experienced handler who can continue building his confidence Great Activities for Benny: * Hiking adventures * Neighborhood walks * Swimming * Playing with other dogs * Fetch * Car rides * Enrichment games * Outdoor patios * One-on-one bonding time * Relaxing at home with his family Best Match: * Active or outdoorsy adopters * Experienced dog owners * Patient families * Homes with another playful dog * Families with children * People looking for a loyal adventure buddy and cuddle companion Three Words That Describe Benny Best: ❤️ Loving ❤️ Goofy ❤️ Loyal Foster Location: Neillsville, WI Benny first came to rescue as a puppy and was adopted into a loving home. Sadly, through no fault of his own, he returned to rescue when his adopter became ill and could no longer care for him. Now he's patiently waiting for a family to give him the forever home he deserves. If you're looking for a dog who will make you laugh, join you on every adventure, and love you with his whole heart, Benny may be your perfect match. Ready to meet Benny? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Quest was surrendered to the shelter on 5/9/2025 due to rental restrictions. He is 5 years old and was a very loved dog who had lived in his home his whole life. His owners were forced to relocate and couldn't find an affordable place that would accept dogs like him. Quest is a mix of boxer, Doberman, and pit bull, and he is big and strong. He has been fully vetted and microchipped. His fee of $150 is fully sponsored. Quest did live with his canine sibling in his home and was fine. They grew up together. We do think that he'd be okay with a mellow female dog of similar size. No smaller animals. He would do best in an adult only home. Teens are okay.  Shelter life has been hard on our Quest and he has lost a significant amount of weight. We've had him completely vet checked and this weight loss is due to the stress of the shelter environment. He would make a very loving and loyal companion. He needs a home! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 4, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Doug is in the house! This big, handsome boy is Doug. He came to PCHS when he was found as a stray and no one claim to claim him. While we do not know a lot about his back ground, we do know that he is super friendly, loves people, and has an exceptional enthusiasm for life! Doug is estimated to be a pitty/lab mix and roughly 2 years old. He does know some very basic commands such as sit, he will need some practice with his leash manners. He is a very strong boy and using a harness to walk him would be recommended. Doug is a smart boy and would likely learn more commands with some time and consistency. He would love a fenced in yard where he can run around and burn off some energy, however, we are not requiring it. Doug would do best with another dog who can match his play style, or being the center of your attention! He would do best in a home without cats. If Doug sounds like he could be a good fit for you, apply online today!*Kids 16 years of age or olderAdoption fee is $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Judy is a 3-year-old French Bulldog who came to PCHS from one of our rescue partners. Judy has never experienced life as a family pet—her days were spent having puppies. Now it`s finally her turn to be loved, spoiled, and cherished as part of a family. Judy is looking for a home that will give her the time, patience, and care she deserves as she learns what being a loved companion is all about. Potential adopters should have an understanding of the French Bulldog breed, as Frenchies can be prone to certain health concerns and require a commitment to their care. Judy is ready to leave her past behind and start the next chapter of her life as someone`s very special girl.adoption fee $450 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
This handsome fella is Kermit! Kermit recently came to PCHS and is settling in. He was seized from his original home as he was not being cared for properly, and a rescue partner reached out asking PCHS for help. Kermit is understandably wary, but does enjoy spending time with our staff and volunteers, going for walks, and spending time out in the nice weather. He`s a bit unsure of other dogs, so he may prefer to either be the center of attention, or have another calm and confident dog to learn from, who won`t overwhelm him. Kermit is a bigger dog, weighing around 85 pounds, and would benefit from his new family having some larger dog experience. If you think Kermit is meant to be a part of your family, apply online! *Children 12 years of age or older recommended**Adoption fee: $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax
